1. Multiple Junta Camps Captured During Battle in Saung Pyone Village; Artillery and Ammunition Seized

From May 17 to May 26, 2025, resistance forces from Phaekhone PDF Battalion 1002, together with allied units, launched attacks on junta and PNO (Pa-O National Organization) camps stationed in Saung Pyone Village, according to an official announcement from the battalion.
The battles were reported to be intense and sustained on a daily basis. Although junta forces attempted to defend their positions using airstrikes and heavy artillery shelling, many of their camps were successfully captured by the resistance forces.
In the process, the resistance forces were able to seize a large amount of military equipment, including artillery shells and ammunition from the enemy side.
It was reported that numerous Pa-O youth, who had been forcibly conscripted by the junta, were killed in the fighting, including a PNO militia commander. On the resistance side, some fighters were also injured during the clashes.
2. Clash Erupts with Junta Troops Looting in Puzon Myaung Village, Nyaung Lay Pin — One Soldier Killed

At around 7:45 AM on May 28, a clash broke out between junta troops looting civilian property and a resistance ambush team from P2 Battalion 3703’s Fire Dragon Guerrilla Unit in Puzon Myaung Village, Nyaung Lay Pin Township, Bago Region, according to a press release.
During the engagement, one junta soldier was killed and two others were injured, while the Fire Dragon fighters sustained no casualties and were able to safely withdraw after the operation, the statement said.

3. Kamma Defense Force (KMDF) Base Burned Down by Junta Column

On May 28, junta forces that had begun advancing from Pakokku town on May 27 using vehicles and later on foot through Hmaikpin Hill village, Ngaphon Kan village, and Nyaung Jit Pin village, proceeded with around 150 troops toward Kamma town via the Nyaung Jit Pin–Kan Taw base route, according to a statement.
During the advance, they set fire to and destroyed a base belonging to the Kamma Defense Force (KMDF).
“We thought the column was heading to the police station in Kamma, but it didn’t. Our members were guarding another location, and the column took a forest route instead of the previously used roads and attacked our base with fire. They didn’t seize anything, but the damage is massive—about 40 million kyats worth of property was destroyed,” a KMDF representative said.
As a result, KMDF is calling on the public to contribute donations, no matter how big or small, to help rebuild the base.
4. Civilian Man Killed by Junta Artillery Strike in Mobye

A civilian man was killed by an artillery shell fired by junta forces in a location within Mobye town on May 30, according to local reports.
The incident occurred at around 2:30 PM on Friday, May 30, when junta forces indiscriminately fired heavy weapons. A man in his twenties, an innocent civilian, was fatally struck by the shell, as confirmed by Mobye Local PDF.
Due to ongoing risks, residents and travelers are strongly advised to avoid entering Mobye town unless absolutely necessary.
5. Two Civilians Captured and Executed by Junta Column near Done Nwel Village, Taungoo

According to a press release from Battalion 3504 based in Yedashe Township, two civilians were captured and brutally executed by a junta military column advancing from Done Nwel Village in Thonebo Gyi, Taungoo Township, on May 28 at 6:45 PM.
The column, estimated to be over 100 troops, was moving toward the Karen Chaung Bridge area near the junction of Concrete Road and Yelwhae Village Road when the incident occurred.
The victims were identified as Ko Pho Lone (age 32) and Ko Ye Zaw (age 32). In addition to executing the civilians in a barbaric manner, the junta forces burned down a civilian house, destroyed over 30 sacks of rice, and set fire to the victims’ motorcycle.
6. Six New Military Recruits Defect from Junta Column in Chin State with Weapons

On May 21, six newly recruited soldiers defected from a junta military column of around 500 troops that had been advancing into Chin State since May 18. The defectors contacted the Kalay Urban Underground (UG) group and successfully surrendered, according to local sources.
These six defectors were new recruits from Weeks 7 and 8 of basic military training, and they belonged to Light Infantry Battalion 391 under Division 77.
They brought with them:
- 2 MA-3 rifles
- 5 hand grenades
- 476 rounds of ammunition
- 14 magazines
- And various other military equipment.
In recognition of bringing weapons along, they were each awarded a reward of 15 million kyats and were relocated to a liberated area for safety, according to reports.
