1. Tatmadaw Executed Three Civilians in Hpakant
June 12 – Hpakant Township, Kachin State
Locals report that the junta troops currently conducting military operations in Hpakant Township abducted and executed three civilians, dumping their bodies by the roadside. The incident occurred in Hmaw Si Sar village, where the regime forces were stationed.
According to residents, the three men were shot dead on the night of June 11, and their bodies were discovered near the Hmaw Si Sar junction in the morning of June 12. Local sources believe that the patrolling troops randomly targeted and killed civilians.
In recent days, these junta forces have also destroyed company-owned vehicles and buildings at jade mining sites in the area.

Since late May, junta artillery shelling, drone and airstrikes, and shootings have reportedly killed at least 20 civilians between May 27 and June 12.
Due to heightened military tensions, the KIA–KPDF joint forces have warned locals to stay indoors from 9 PM to 4 AM and avoid traveling on the Maw Kaung–Kamai–Hpakant road, as junta forces continue troop reinforcements.
2. Airstrike Destroys Monastery, School, and Homes in Man Li Village, Namhkam
June 12 – Namhkam Township, TNLA-Controlled Territory
Early on June 12, the junta conducted airstrikes on Man Li Village in Namhkam Township, northern Shan State, damaging a monastery, a school, and civilian homes, according to local sources.
The PSLF/TNLA confirmed the attack, stating that two 500-pound bombs were dropped by jet fighters targeting civilian areas, despite no ongoing battles at the time.
The bombing occurred shortly after 1 AM, with two consecutive airstrikes causing significant destruction.
TNLA condemned the junta’s deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure. A similar incident occurred in December 2023, when a junta bombing in the same village killed a female teacher.
The TNLA urged the public to remain vigilant and adopt civil air defense measures to protect against aerial attacks.
3. Junta Uses Kamikaze Drones to Attack KNU Brigade 7 HQ Area
June 12 – Karen State
On the night of June 11, the Myanmar military launched a drone strike using kamikaze drones against the headquarters area of KNU Brigade 7 in Karen State, according to local sources.
The first explosion occurred at 1:01 AM, followed by four more drones exploding between 2 AM and 4 AM in the Kaw Lay Oh vicinity.
KNU spokesperson Padoh Saw Kale Say confirmed that four out of five drones exploded, while one failed to detonate. Other sources reported that a total of seven kamikaze drones were deployed, with explosions occurring near the Sango warehouse and close to the Brigade 7 HQ building. No casualties were reported.
This marks the third drone attack on the KNU HQ—previous incidents occurred in January and October 2024.
The assault came after KNLA and allied forces successfully seized junta camps along the Thai-Myanmar border in Doon Taung Corridor between March and May 2025.
4. KNU Strongly Condemns Junta’s Deliberate Attacks on Civilian Sites
June 12 – Karen State
The Karen National Union (KNU) has strongly condemned the Myanmar military for targeting non-military locations, including schools, with intentional bombings.
On June 9, a junta airstrike killed five people, including three schoolchildren, and injured 22 others. KNU issued a statement criticizing the regime for these atrocities.
KNU noted that it recognizes every child’s right to education and had declared all schools in Kawthoolei Autonomous Region as protected zones in October 2024, urging for their safety amid ongoing conflict.
However, the junta has continued indiscriminate attacks on schools and civilians, threatening the safety of students and teachers even in areas previously considered safe from conflict.
The KNU called on the international community and relevant stakeholders to support the creation of a safe and quality learning environment for all students in conflict-affected zones.
5. Four Junta Troops Killed in Drone Attack on Military Hiding in Ze Ya Waddy
June 12 – Pyu Township, Bago Region
On the night of June 10 at 9:45 PM, the Pyu People’s Defense Force (PDF) launched a drone attack targeting junta forces hiding at the Ze Ya Waddy train station and a sugar factory on the old Yangon–Mandalay road in Pyu Township.
According to ground reports, the drone unit dropped explosive payloads, killing four junta soldiers and injuring two.
The military had been using the sugar factory and train station to extort money from locals and recruit new conscripts, the statement said.
In the attack, two junta vehicles were also seized by the Pyu PDF after troops abandoned them while fleeing.
The sugar factory’s manager and deputy manager had been aiding the military by providing transportation using personal vehicles, the PDF report claimed.
