3. Dagon University Student Union Working to Build Bomb Shelters for Schools
June 5
The Dagon University Student Union (DUSU) announced that they are working to construct bomb shelters for schools, which are critically needed in light of increasing airstrikes by the junta.
As airstrikes intensify across Sagaing Region, civilian casualties, including those of students, continue to rise. Schools, monasteries, and IDP camps have become primary targets in recent air raids, DUSU stated.
Student leaders from Dagon University visited schools and communities in Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region, to raise awareness about air raid safety. They conducted educational outreach and engaged in discussions about the challenges faced on the ground.
In response to the needs expressed, they are now actively working to dig and build bomb shelters for schools to help protect students and civilians from ongoing air threats.
