1. Police officers from Myin Gyan District Battalion (4-10) continue to serve at their parent battalion

It is reported that police officers from Myin Chan District Battalion (4-10), who attended training under the Special Security and Counter-Terrorism Task Force (SSTF), are continuing their duties at their parent battalion.
The graduation ceremony for the 3rd batch of the SSTF training, conducted under the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration and the People’s Police of the National Unity Government (NUG), was held on March 31, 2025, in a liberated area.
During about four months of training, SSTF members were trained in urban warfare and special combat tactics.
The police officers are said to continue serving in their parent battalion, maintaining a revolutionary spirit to stand with the people and to persist in the fight against the military dictatorship until its complete downfall.


2. KNU states the junta’s ceasefire announcement is deceptive, like “hanging a goat’s head to sell dog meat”

The Karen National Union (KNU) stated that the junta’s ceasefire announcement is like “hanging a goat’s head to sell dog meat” — meaning it is deceptive.
According to the KNU, between April 2 and April 22, 2025, during the junta’s supposed unilateral ceasefire announcement, the military council committed at least 110 violations of human rights in Kawkareik District under KNU’s administration.
These included:
- Airstrikes, heavy artillery attacks, and drone bombings 63 times, resulting in 14 civilian deaths and 1 Karen casualty, with injuries to 2 Buddhist monks, 1 senior Karen leader, and 34 civilians. Five monasteries and seven houses were also damaged.
- 43 instances of heavy artillery shelling, resulting in injuries to 18 civilians and deaths of 5 civilians, and damage to 16 houses.
- 1 instance of arson attacks by junta troops, causing the destruction of four houses and one monastery.
- Arbitrary arrests of two civilians and landmine incidents injuring two civilians.
3. SOF opens recruitment for the 8th batch of Special Operations Training

The Special Operations Force (SOF) under the Southern Military Region of the People’s Defense Forces (PDF) and the National Unity Government (NUG) has begun accepting candidates (both male and female) for the 8th batch of its special operations training.
The SOF, which has expanded its units and battalions, plans to collaborate with allied ethnic revolutionary organizations, battalions under the Ministry of Defense (MOD), and Local People’s Defense Forces (LPDF) in key military regions, including operations in Bago and Yangon.
SOF announced that they will intensify military operations throughout 2025.
They warmly welcome and invite young men and women who are determined to fight for the collapse of the military dictatorship and the establishment of a new federal democratic union.
