1. AA Denies Involvement in Deaths of Muslims Near Maungdaw

The Arakan Army (AA) has issued a statement clarifying that they have no involvement in the deaths of numerous Muslims fleeing the city who were found deceased near the Maungdaw coastline. Reports on social media have suggested that these individuals were victims of artillery, gunfire, bombs, drowning, or airstrikes. The AA stressed that these deaths did not occur in their controlled areas and are unrelated to their group. They are investigating the details and will release more information as soon as they are available. To ensure the safety of civilians amidst the intense fighting in Maungdaw, the AA urges all civilians to evacuate to AA-controlled areas instead of risking dangerous routes. Civilians unable to leave the city are advised to take cover in safe zones, display white flags, and avoid areas with combatants. Additionally, they are warned against staying in military-occupied buildings and positions to avoid being used as human shields by the junta and ARSA, RSO, and ARA groups. Civilians who encounter fleeing militants are encouraged to report to the nearest ULA/AA members. The AA emphasizes their commitment to human rights and international humanitarian laws and vows to eliminate terrorist groups from the Arakan region.

2. Battle in Hsipaw Township: 10 Junta Soldiers Killed and Weapons Seized

The Palaung National Liberation Army (PNLA) has reported a battle with the junta forces in Hsipaw Township, Southern Shan State. On August 6th, near Loetwwe village, a clash resulted in the deaths of 10 junta soldiers and the seizure of a drone and 10 firearms. The PNLA also warned that since August 3rd, junta forces, along with PNO militias, have been targeting Pa’O villages in Hsipaw Township with heavy artillery, urging villagers to remain cautious.

3. Airstrike on Monastery in Namlan Township: Two Dead

On the evening of August 6th, around 4 PM, a monastery in Nang Kaw Kyi village, Namlan Township, Northern Shan State, was hit by an airstrike by the junta forces. The attack resulted in the death of one monk and one woman, with another monk severely injured. The injured monk was treated at Namlan Public Hospital but required further transfer to Taunggyi Public Hospital due to the severity of the injuries. The monastery building was also damaged, and the resident novices were relocated to safety.

4. KNDF Urges Civilians to Avoid Loikaw-Deemawso Road Due to Ongoing Clashes

The Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) has issued a plea for civilians to avoid using the Loikaw-Deemawso Union Road and its connected routes due to continuous daily clashes. Since July, intense fighting has occurred in various areas, including Loi Ko, Main Lon, Ywatan Shay, Nam Bo Won, Thut Du Ngan Thar, Saik Kwin 3, Daw San Bon, and Pan Kan. Civilians are warned against traveling these roads as junta forces are conducting random checks and shootings, resulting in civilian casualties.

5. Airstrike on Pha Yaung Taung Village in Pathein Gyi Township: Seven Civilians Killed**

On the night of August 6th, around midnight, an airstrike by the junta forces targeted Pha Yaung Taung village in Pathein Gyi Township, resulting in the deaths of seven civilians and injuring others. The People’s Defence Force (Mandalay) condemned the junta for targeting civilians and committing war crimes as they continue to face military defeats.

6. Ongoing Clashes in Naung Cho Township and Airstrikes on Kutkai Town

On the 44th day of the ‘1027’ operation, ongoing clashes between the junta forces and the TNLA continued in Naung Cho Township, with additional airstrikes on Kutkai Town. On August 7th, around 7:20 AM, the junta forces attacked TNLA positions in Yay Phyu village, leading to skirmishes. Additionally, around 1:50 PM, junta aircraft dropped 500-pound bombs twice on Kutkai Town, causing no casualties but resulting in property damage. Previous airstrikes on August 5th in Kutkai Market had resulted in six civilian deaths and injuries to ten others, along with significant damage to shops.
