“An application for a criminal investigation into the activities of the Israeli arms manufacturer CAA Industries and officials from the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been filed with Israel’s Attorney General, over the suspected aiding and abetting of the Myanmar military’s war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The application is based on leaked shipment records showing that in July 2019, CAA Industries dispatched injection moulds and tooling used for the upgrading of the Myanmar military’s small arms, via known arms broker Star Sapphire Trading,” it stated.
Star Sapphire Trading is a company ultimately controlled by Dr Tun Min Latt, a Myanmar arms broker who has been indicted on money laundering, transnational organised crime and drug trafficking charges in Thailand.
The application included:
◦ argues that CAA Industries and officials in Israel’s Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs aided and abetted war crimes and crimes against humanity by supplying the Myanmar military with machinery to manufacture accessories for the Myanmar military’s domestic small arms production lines, knowing that the military was committing atrocity crimes;
◦ calls for concerned individuals to be prosecuted under Israel’s Penal Code.

“On June 8, at 9:15 a.m., Artillery Unit-317 opened fire on purpose with 120mm heavy artillery shells near Hnit Ka Yin Village, Win Ye Township, KNU-Dooplaya District, without any fighting occurring, and Ma Than Aye (29 years old) from Hnit Ka Yin Village died while being transported to the hospital after being hit by an artillery shell,” it stated.
Again, at around 11:00 p.m. on June 9, 2023, Artillery Unit-317 opened fire again at Hnit Ka Yin Village with heavy weapons, injuring U Gaung Gyi (36years) after being hit by a heavy weapon.

“On June 10, at 11:30 a.m., 2 members of the junta troops stationed in Kyi Village, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Division, were ambushed by the Naung Yoe Special Guerrilla Force – NYSGF at a certain road section while they were traveling on a motorcycle from Kyi Village to Si Mee Khon, killing both of them on the spot,” it stated.
One MA1, 16 rounds of 5.56 ammunition, and a mobile phone were seized from the junta soldiers, and the guerrillas were able to retreat safely without harm.
The operation was jointly conducted by Naung Yoe Special Guerrilla Force – NYSGF (Squadron 1 of the Myingyan District Battalion 6), Zarmani Guerrilla Force and MyinGyan MP-9 PDF.
