Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann attended the meeting of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and explained the operation status of One Year Plan.
On June 8, Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann said at the meeting of the NUG’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) meeting (23/2023).
The Union Prime Minister ordered about continuing activities according to the one year plan, progressing attacks from the resistance war to the offensive by the revolutionary comrades, administrative activities that will help the revolutionary war, and issues of support for the battalions.
In addition, the Union Prime Minister continued that the implementation of the One Year Plan of the National Unity Government has reached Phase 3.
“The National Unity Government started implementing the One Year Plan in September 2022, and now it has reached Phase 3. With the precious life and body sacrifices of the revolutionary comrades in each and every military operation and with the support the people earned from their hard work, we are all working hard to permanently drive out the armed military who bully the people from the ground. The current situation is proof that the terrorist military council was crippled and nearly collapsed throughout the history of the revolution because of the people’s perseverance and unity,” said the Union Prime Minister.
Following, attending members of the ILACC explained the status of the resolution adopted at the meeting (18/2023), the completion status of upcoming processes, and processes that needed to proceed, and the relevant officials discussed them extensively.
The meeting was attended by Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, and officials from ministries.
2. The elder brother of NUG Human Rights Adviser assassinated
The elder brother of the NUG Human Rights Adviser was reportedly assassinated.
It is said that on the night of June 7, the elder brother of U Aung Kyaw Moe, an adviser to the NUG Ministry of Human Rights, was assassinated.
“My elder brother was assassinated by an unknown group of people on June 7 at around 11 p.m.,” he said.
On the night of June 7, it was reported that he was stabbed to death by an unknown group of people in Nwe Aye Mosque Rose Street, Nwe Aye Ward, Thaketa Township, Yangon.
It is also known that the person who was assassinated was U Than Myint, the elder brother of U Aung Kyaw Moe, an advisor to the Ministry of Human Rights of the National Unity Government.

Currently, the Ministry of Defence of the NUG government is equipping the People’s Defence Force battalions in Yangon Region, Mandalay Region, Sagaing Region, Karen State and all over Myanmar with weapons. Among those funds are the proceeds from the sale of EOD shares and Treasury Bonds.

On June 8, AAPP (Assistance Association for Political Prisoners) reports on the current situation.
“On June 7, at around 9:30 am, the junta’s Hlaing Wa Artillery Unit under No.12 Operations Control Command fired two 120 mm artillery shells at Ywar Tan Shay Village in Kawkareik Township, Kayin State. The artillery explosion killed a 12-year-old local named Saw Kyaw Than Aung, and also injured his mother and 4-year-old sister.
In addition to this, on June 7, at around 5 pm, the junta fired artillery shells at Min Htein Village in Palaw Township, Tanintharyi Region. The shells exploded and seriously injured a local man and woman, who were brought to hospital for treatment. The man, Phoe Chaung, later died from his injuries,” it stated.
Since the February 1, 2021 coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (3,632) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians have been killed through military crackdowns against the pro-democracy movement.
5. The military council checkpoint in Inpin Village, Pakokku Township was attacked, killing 2 junta soldiers and injuring 3
On June 8, Myaing PaKaFa confirmed the military news that 2 junta soldiers were killed and 3 wounded in an attack on the military council checkpoint in Inpin Village, Pakokku Township.
“At about 1:00 p.m., the military council checkpoint in Pakokku Township’s Inpin Village was opened fire at close range by Squadron-1 of Myaing Township People’s Defense Force (PaKaFa) Battalion-2 (Earthquake People’s Defense Force) and Middle Revolution Task Force – MRTF in cooperation,” it stated.
While shooting from the ground, the Drone Team of the Earthquake People’s Defense Force also attacked with bombs from the air, killing 2 and injuring about 3 from the military council side.
The junta soldiers fired back, but the allied comrades were able to retreat safely without being harmed.
