Myanmar Spring Revolution Morning Fresh News for 2023 June 8

1. Acting President Duwa Lashi La said that the general operations of the Spring Revolution included spiritual, people and intellectual strengths

In the Financial Commission Meeting (3/2023), Acting President of the National Unity Government, Duwa Lashi La, said that in the general operations of the Spring Revolution, spiritual, people and intellectual strengths are also involved.

“There are major ministries that are working as the financial pillar behind our Spring Revolution. Among them, I would like to express my sincere gratitude and pride for the efforts of the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment. The general operation of the Spring Revolution involved the spiritual, people and intellectual strengths, as well as the financial strength to implement the practical processes,” he said.

At present, people at home and abroad are supporting the funds for the revolutionary forces, and are also purchasing EOD shares and Treasury bonds for revolutionary funds.

2. Union Minister for Labour U Nai Suwunna attended the meeting between the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and the township people’s administrative bodies of Mandalay and Magway Divisions

On June 7, the meeting between the NUG’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and the township people’s administrative bodies of Mandalay and Magway Divisions (17/2023) was held.

At the meeting, Union Minister for Labour U Nai Tun Pe @ U Nai Suwunna, a member of ILACC, gave an opening speech.

Following, officials from ministries explained the activities of relevant ministries, and then members of the township people’s administrative bodies exchanged views with relevant officials regarding policies, directions, operations, and challenges encountered on the ground.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister U Nai Suwunna, Permanent Secretaries, Associate Secretaries, officials from ministries, and members of the township people’s administrative bodies of Mandalay and Magway Divisions.

On June 7, the meeting between the NUG’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and the Committee Representing Sagaing Region Hluttaw (CRSH) (4/2023) was held.

At the meeting, Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Soe Thura Tun, a member of ILACC, gave an opening speech.

Following, officials from each ministry and region explained the activities of relevant ministries, and then members of the Committee Representing Sagaing Hluttaw exchanged views with relevant officials about what they wanted to discuss. Then, Union Minister for Labour U Nai Tun Pe @ U Nai Suwunna, a member of ILACC, gave a closing remark.

The meeting was attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Associate Secretaries, officials from ministries, and representatives of the Committee Representing Sagaing Region Hluttaw.

4. The terrorist military is arresting civilians to use as human shields in Salingyi Township

On June 7, AAPP informed the public about the current situation in which the terrorist military is arresting civilians to use as human shields in Salingyi Township.

“On the morning of June 6, a military column of junta forces stationed in Wunpawng Company in Salingyi Township, Sagaing Region, captured 15 locals from Moe Kyoe Pyin Village and around 30 locals from Yar Za Kyaw Village, to use as human shields,” it stated.

Since the coup in 2021 to June 7, 2023, a total of (23,283) people were arrested and among them, (18,953) are currently under detention, (6,303) of whom are serving sentences.

5. Police station in Pale Township was attacked with heavy weapons for three consecutive days

On June 7, the Black Leopard Army (B.L.P.A) informed the military news that the police station in Pale Township, Sagaing Division, was attacked with heavy weapons for three consecutive days.

“About 50 comrades of Black Leopard Army – Yinmarbin District Battalion 11 attacked the Police station of Pale Town, Yinmarbin District, Sagaing Division, where the military council troops and police were stationed, once on June 4th from 1:50 p.m. to 5:20 p.m., once on the 5th from 8:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., and once on the 6th from 11:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., with heavy artillery of 60mm, 80mm and 120mm for three consecutive days,” it stated.

The Black Leopard Army comrades were able to retreat unharmed, although the enemy exchanged fire. The casualties on the military council side are still being confirmed.

6. In Ayadaw Township, the basic military combat training unit (SaKhaTa 10) of the terrorist military council was attacked with 170mm launchers

Danger Force LPDF confirmed the military news on June 7 that the basic military combat training unit (SaKhaTa 10) of the terrorist military council was attacked with 170mm launchers in Ayadaw Township.

“On June 6, at 2:41 p.m., the basic military combat training unit (SaKhaTa 10) of the terrorist military council was attacked with 170mm launchers, resulting in many casualties and there may be possible deaths of the military council soldiers,” it stated.

After the attack, the junta soldiers fired back 6 times with heavy weapons, but the revolutionary comrades were able to retreat without any harm.

The operation was jointly conducted by Danger Force LPDF and Monywa District Battalion-6.

7. Junta food convoy coming from Pakokku to Myaing was exploded with mines 3 times

It is reported that junta food convoy coming from Pakokku to Myaing was exploded with mines 3 times. On June 7, Myaing PaKaFa confirmed the military news.

At about 12:23 p.m. on June 7, a junta convoy transporting food from Pakokku to Myaing was exploded with mines 3 times, damaging a food truck and a military vehicle. Junta soldiers on that military vehicle hit by mine may also be injured,” it stated.

It is said that Pyu Saw Htee members from Yaelarlay Village and Nyaunggyitpin Village who came along the roadside to the scene because of the junta troops were mined, entered the mine field set up by the defense forces and exploded. 

2 Pyu members were blown away and seriously injured. 3 Pyu members died on the spot and the defense forces were able to retreat without any harm.

The attack was jointly carried out by the Kamma Defence Force (KMDF), and Squadron 1 and Squadron 2 (Garuda PDF) of Myaing-PaKaFa Battalion 1. 

8. The terrorist military arrested and killed eight civilians in Khanthar Ward, Kawlin Township and took away gold items and money

On June 7, the Kawlin Revolution – KR confirmed that the terrorist military arrested and killed eight civilians and took gold and money in Khanthar Ward, Kawlin Township, Sagaing Division.

“From May 28 to June 3, the junta column raided the Khanthar Ward, and arrested and killed the civilians. The junta column arrived at Thitphula Hill, Kyauktan Village, on May 28, and within 5 days, there were guerilla encounters with Kawlin District Battalion 1 – Kawlin Township People Defense Force. During the column raiding, there were about 16 people arrested from the Khanthar Ward. Until now, 5 have been released, 8 have been confirmed dead, and the remaining four are still being searched,” it stated.

It is reported that some of the people who were killed had some gold and a lot of cash with them, and some of the people were released. 6 Motewa villagers were also captured and killed in a group in one place.

9. Two earthquakes hit Yangon and two women died in the Ayeyarwady Region

It was reported that two earthquakes hit Yangon and two women died in the Ayeyarwady Region. An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale struck in the evening of June 7.

According to local residents, the quake was felt in Ayeyarwady Region, Bago Region, Hinthada, Hpa-an, Hpapun, Karen State, Laputta, Maubin, Mawlamyine, Mon State, Myaungmya, Pathein, Pyapon, Rakhine, Yangon, Thandwe, Thayarwaddy, Thaton, Eastern Yangon, Northern Yangon, and Southern Yangon.

As a result of the earthquake, the brick wall collapsed in Maubin Township, killing two women and Shwe Bone Myint Pagoda’s umbrella crown (Htee Taw) was broken down.
