1. Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung sent a message of condolence regarding the train accident that occurred in Odisha State, India

“Heartfelt condolences to the families and victims of Odisha train crash. 

Our thoughts and prayers are with the government and people of India at this difficult time. We are confident the people of India will overcome this tragic incident through their strength and resilience.”

On June 2, 2 passenger trains collided in India’s Balasore District of Odisha State, killing at least 288 people and injuring more than 900 others.

2. Dr. Zaw Wai Soe informed that Arizona State University will work together with NUG Ministry of Education

NUG Union Minister of Education Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, who is on a trip to the United States for Myanmar issues, met with officials and experts from Arizona State University on June 2. Dr. Zaw Wei Soe told Radio NUG that the American University and the Ministry of Education of NUG reached an agreement to work together during the meeting.

“The Board of Education of Mindat Township, with the technical support of the National Unity Government (NUG) Ministry of Education, has conducted the basic education high school completion test in the township since April 2023, and it has now been successfully held in the whole township. Those who did not take the test can register for the test until June 15, 2023, and the place and date of the high school completion test will be rescheduled.”

BECA (Basic Education Completion Assessment) was conducted online and offline from February 2023 to April 2023, and more than 21,000 students took it online. A total of 38,877 students answered in 329 examination centers, and PDF comrades also took the examination.

“On June 3, at around 5:30 p.m., near San Taung, Kyaukhtu Township, Magway Division, a column of the terrorist military council and the joint forces of (YDF)-led Yawnaka Column and Squadron-1 of Gangaw District Battalion-9 (Yaw Chaung Squadron – Kyaukhtu PDF) clashed. 2 junta soldiers were killed and 4 were wounded,” it stated.

The clash took place because a junta column consisting of about 180 troops advanced towards San Taung in Kyaukhtu Township, Magway Division.

During the battle, the defense forces also seized some ammunition from the enemy’s terrorist military.
