1. Union Prime Minister says the Chin state and its people are a nation that founded the Union of Myanmar together

Union Prime Minister U Mahn Win Khaing Than said that the Chin state and its people are a nation that founded the Union of Myanmar together. On February 20, the Prime Minister spoke at the celebration of Chin Diamond Jubilee National Day as follows:

“Chin leaders signed the Panglong Agreement on February 12, 1947. They commented that they would gain independence with “Ministerial Burma” and rule the Chin Hills on their own. Therefore, it became a member of the Union as a Chin Characteristic region in the 1947 Constitution. For those reasons, the Chin state and its people are a nation that founded the Union of Myanmar together.”

Furthermore, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and honor for the outstanding efforts of the various Chin Defense Forces who fought for the liberation of Chin territories.

2. NUG Foreign Minister says the Spring Revolution had good political objectives and principles

Daw Zin Mar Aung, Foreign Minister of the National Unity Government, said the spring revolution has good political objectives and principles. Daw Zin Mar Aung stated on February 19 at a meeting of Myanmar ethnic families in the San Francisco Bay Area of the United States.

“Our revolution has good political objectives and principles. Our people need to understand this condition. Also, I’d like the general public to appreciate how important every penny of their support is to the success of this revolution,” the Minister said.

According to the one-year strategic plan, the National Unity Government is currently attacking the military council with all kinds of military, political, and diplomatic means.

3. The National Unity Government was able to provide electricity to some villages

U Soe Thura Tun, Union Minister of Electricity and Energy, said that the National Unity Government was able to provide electricity to some villages. The Minister said on the 3rd day of the online meeting between the National Unity Government and the public around the world, held on February 19.

“We have to supply electricity to the necessary parts for our revolutionary groups. When providing such assistance, the Planning, Finance, and Investment Ministry also contributes to the budget. If the public required electricity, the National Unity Government provided it in some villages,” the Minister said.

In addition to providing solar and generators to revolutionary groups, the minister stated that tens of thousands of kyats of tax money collected by the Ministry of Electricity and Energy were effectively distributed on the ground.

4. The “Dancing with Ladies” project raises USD 160,000 for the Central Region

The “Dancing with Ladies” project for the central region raised USD 160,000. The “Dancing with Ladies” project plan reported the following in February:

“Despite the fact that the fourth project did not set the target, it was able to raise a total of USD 160,000. Thank you for consistently contributing to the “Dancing with Ladies” project when campaigns and projects overlapped due to revolutionary needs.”

5. The attack near the Doetan village in Yedashe township killed a 3-year-old baby and a mother

A 3-year-old baby and her mother were killed when junta forces fired heavy weapons at the villages near the Doetan village, Yedashe township. On February 20, AAPP reported on the current situation as follows:

“On February 15, a fierce battle occurred between the Yedashe PDF and the terrorist military group’s KhaMaYa-84 battalion near Doetan village, Yedashe township, Bago region. After that, junta troops opened fire on the villages, killing U Kyi Lwin of Doetan village and 3-year-old Ma Ei Ei Phyo of Ayetharyargone village, both of whom were hit by heavy artillery bullets and died on the spot. Moreover, Daw Nwet Nwet Soe, Ma Ei Ei Phyo’s mother, was injured and died on February 18 while receiving treatment at Yedashe Public Hospital.

6. Defense Forces attacked the junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee forces in Puhtoelone village, Mingin township

It is reported that defense forces attacked the junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee forces that unjustly raided and stationed in Puhtoelone village, Mingin township. Mingin’s 11th Battalion reported the battle news on February 20 as follows:

“On February 20, at 5:30 a.m., defense forces opened fire with 5 (60mm) weapons, snipers, and small arms on 50-strong junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee forces who had illegally raided and stationed in Puhtoelone village. The clash occurred at 11:00 a.m., as junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee were retreating from Puhtoelone village to Mingin city.”

Three military council soldiers were injured after being struck by a Mingin Battalion’s 11 weapon, and their deaths have not been confirmed yet. At the moment, the looted goods from Puhtoelone village are being transported to Mingin town. The general public is advised not to travel in or near Puhtoelone village because junta troops may conduct raids there. 

7. The attack on the Sinkaw police station in Thayet township killed three people, including a police station officer and a sub-inspector

Three people, including a police station officer and a sub-inspector, were killed when a 40mm grenade launcher was fired into the Sinkaw police station in Thayet township, Magway region. On February 20, Thayet District’s PDF Battalion 4 (Eagle Force) reported the battle news as follows:

“On February 20 at around 6:00 a.m., three 40-mm grenade launchers were fired into the Thayet township Singaw police station, and two bombs exploded.”

According to the report, the bomb blast killed three people, including a police station officer, a sub-inspector, and a lance corporal. In addition, five more people were killed when military council cars from KaPaSa-12, which were accompanying junta troops, were attacked on their way.
