“Right now, almost all the territories of Chin State are under the control of the Chin National Front/Chin National Army (CNF/CNA) and the Chinland Defence Force (CDF), led by the Chinland Joint Defence Committee (CJDC). So, I would like to urge the people of Chin to continue to lead at the front line of the Spring Revolution. At the same time, it is necessary for the Chin people to be able to continue to be involved in building a new future federal union after overthrowing the military dictator.”

At the same time, the Interim Chin National Consultative Council (ICNCC) released a statement on the 75th anniversary of Chin National Day stating that once the military dictatorship ends and all the territories of Chin State are liberated, Chin State will have to be built firmly.

The statement said, “The citizens of Myanmar, including the Chin people, have been experiencing various hardships since the military seized power again on February 1, 2021. As the junta has been violently oppressing the country’s citizens, including the Chin people, with all kinds of cruel methods, the people are also resisting them by all means.”

The statement claimed that neither the Chin people nor the rest of Myanmar’s citizens would be able to live in freedom, justice, security, or peace as long as the military dictatorship is not ended.

“Once the military dictatorship ends and the Chin territories are liberated, a Chin State with full political equality and self-determination will have to be firmly built within the Union of Myanmar. In doing so, all the resistance forces in Chin State must work together to achieve a common goal without becoming disunited while being aware of the junta’s divisions and threats,” said the statement.

The ICNCC called for unity among Chin people, saying, “It is highly urged that the Chin people, who are united by the many tribes, build the unity of the Chin based on mutual respect, mutual recognition, and mutual need at a time when the entire Chin ethnicity is confronting great challenges and overcoming them.”

On February 20, U Kyaw Zaw, spokesperson of the Office of the Acting President, told Radio NUG that the terrorist military council did not comply with the UN Security Council’s resolution at all, as follows:

“The United Nations Security Council adopted a binding resolution on Myanmar. To my understanding, the Special Representative of the Secretary General is to submit a review report to the Security Council within three months (in March). We do not know exactly how the report will be presented, but we all know that the terrorist military council did not follow the Security Council’s resolution at all and that the violence has increased. Therefore, after submitting the report, the Security Council will have to consider and decide, and they will have to discuss how to take action against the military council that failed to comply with the resolution. The people of Myanmar have suffered from the violence of the terrorist military council for two years, and more than 3,000 civilians have been killed so far. The military council also continues to conduct air strikes on a daily basis. The Security Council needs to act decisively and effectively.”
