1. Three civilians, including a child, injured as junta launches airstrikes and ground assault in Kawlin Township
According to local sources, three civilians — including a 10-year-old child — were injured when the military junta conducted airstrikes and launched a ground operation in Kawlin Township, Sagaing Region.
A fighter jet from Tada-U Air Base dropped two bombs on the western side of Kawlin Town around 9 PM on May 3, according to Battalion 2 of Kawlin District.
The jet dropped bombs on Ukkansa Monastic School and deliberately targeted a hospital in Thuwunna Village, sources say.
A 35-year-old displaced man from Saindoo Village and a young girl around 10 years old were injured in the attack, as stated in the Battalion 2 report.
Additionally, on the morning of May 4, intense fighting broke out near Tarywar Village between junta troops advancing from the southeast of Kawlin Town and resistance forces. A local villager was shot and injured, according to local news source Kawlin Info.
The junta troops reportedly retreated back into Kawlin Town around 8 AM.
Local sources also report that junta forces have been deliberately bombing civilian villages in Kawlin District even in the absence of active combat.
2. 11 dead, including air force officers, as resistance forces launch rocket attack on Southern Command HQ and Taungoo Air Base
Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) reported on May 4 that a joint attack with short-range rockets on the junta’s Southern Command Headquarters and Taungoo Air Base in Taungoo District, Bago Region, killed 11 people, including female air police officers and air force officers. Several buildings were destroyed by fire.
The attack took place on April 30, carried out jointly by BWM, MKCDF, ACPLF, and Than Taung North Special Region Force. It was designated BWM Missions 35 and 36 and involved 14 short-range rockets.
The Southern Command’s office building was damaged, and military financial and administrative offices, including two officer quarters and two barracks, were destroyed by fire.
Casualties included 3 air force officers, 2 female air police, and 8 lower-ranking soldiers killed. Another 5 officers and 12 soldiers were seriously injured. Two military vehicles were destroyed.
At Taungoo Air Base, two buildings, including an aircraft storage facility, were also destroyed. Some personnel were killed or seriously wounded, but exact numbers couldn’t be confirmed due to military restrictions on information.
BWM stated that the report was based on information gathered from field reconnaissance.
3. Police station in Taikkyi hit by remote-controlled mine attack
The main police station in Taikkyi Township, Yangon Region, was attacked with three remote-controlled landmines around 10:25 PM on May 3, according to Yangon Army (YA).
The attack was carried out in collaboration with the Western District PDF, who reported the use of powerful explosive devices.

Although the extent of the damage is not yet known, resistance forces reported that their members were unharmed despite post-attack security checks and investigations.
YA announced that attacks on military targets would continue until the junta regime is toppled.
4. 11 junta soldiers killed in ambush on military vehicles from Seikphyu to KaPaSa-21
Two military vehicles traveling from Seikphyu Town to KaPaSa-21 (Defense Equipment Factory) in Magway Region were ambushed by resistance forces, killing 11 junta soldiers and injuring 3, according to Battalion 1, Regiment 4 of Pakokku District (CAF-Spupdf).
The ambush occurred on April 27, and although an RPG malfunctioned, resistance fighters used small arms to attack.
The clash lasted about 30 minutes, as one of the military trucks pulled over and returned fire. A resistance fighter was injured but rescued during the close-range engagement.
Due to limited ammunition and weapon malfunctions, resistance forces retreated when junta reinforcements arrived.
The joint operation involved Battalion 1 and 2 of Regiment 4, and Regiment 8 of Pakokku District.
5. Moekaung Bridge on Yangon-Mawlamyine highway blown up for second time
The Moekaung Bridge on the Yangon-Mawlamyine-Thaton Highway in Mon State’s Thaton Township was destroyed by a mine blast again around 11 PM on May 3, according to local residents.
The bridge had also been bombed once before in late February last year.

Recent photos circulating on social media show the bridge shattered into pieces.
Locals say this latest attack was more powerful than the previous one, causing more severe destruction.
The bridge’s destruction has made travel to hospitals and clinics more difficult for locals, and travelers are also facing major disruptions.
