1. Missile Attack on Military Factory “KaPaSa-11” in Hlegu Township

April 5, Yangon Region
The Urban Special Operation (USO) group announced that the No. 11 Defense Equipment Factory (KaPaSa-11) in Hlegu Township, Yangon Region, was targeted and attacked using three long-range missile drones.

The attack occurred around 9:50 p.m. on April 4 as part of “Urban Special Operation Mission-16.” According to the announcement, the factory was attacked because it has been supplying weapons, ammunition, and components to various locations across Myanmar.

The operation was a joint mission conducted by the Urban Special Operation (USO) and the Shadow Armed Forces (S.A.F).


2. Three Bawlakhe PDF Fighters Killed in Battle to Capture Wan Malan Base

According to Karenni People’s Voice, three fighters from the Bawlakhe People’s Defense Force (PDF) died during a battle to capture Wan Malan military base in Bawlakhe Township.

On the morning of March 31, Karenni resistance forces attacked and captured the strategically important Wan Malan base, seizing a stockpile of weapons and ammunition.

Although the attack occurred on March 12, the deaths of the three PDF members—Daniel Lay (aka Khwar Doe), Paing Thein Chit (aka Shan Phu), and Ael Doh Htoo—were only just announced due to military circumstances at the time.

Intense fighting has been ongoing in Bawlakhe since early March, led by a coalition of Karenni resistance groups.


3. Despite Ceasefire Declaration, Junta Airstrikes Mowkone Township

Although the military council declared a ceasefire from April 2 to 22, junta forces launched airstrikes on Mowkone Township at around 2:20 p.m. on April 5.

According to the PSLF/TNLA, two bombs were dropped by a junta jet fighter near the base of Pinku Hill, west of Mowkone Township.

Similarly, on April 3, the junta attacked the area around Mile 7 in Thabeikkyin Township with four airstrikes, dropping a total of eight bombs.

On March 28, during a 7.7 magnitude earthquake, the junta used fighter jets to bomb Naunglin Village with two 250-pound bombs. That attack destroyed three homes and two schools.

The military has been reportedly increasing troop strength, conducting offensives, and carrying out airstrikes in non-conflict areas even after the ceasefire was declared by the Brotherhood Alliance.


4. Civilian Injuries from Junta Bombing in Taungoke Despite Ceasefire

Despite a nationwide ceasefire announcement, the junta violated it by bombing Taungoke Township, according to Arakan Princess Media.

At around 1:20 a.m. on April 4, a junta jet dropped two bombs on Salu Village.

The bombs landed inside the village and near a monastery, destroying a Christian church and three houses.

Three civilians—36-year-old Daw Kyu Kyu, 40-year-old Daw Panay, and 14-year-old Maung Soe Naing—were seriously injured and are currently receiving emergency medical treatment.


5. ARSA Fighter Captured and Killed by Arakan Army in Maungdaw

While conducting regional security operations, the Arakan Army (AA) encountered and killed one armed member of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), according to Arakan Princess Media.

On April 4, an encounter took place about 1,200 meters northwest of the abandoned village of Labaw in Maungdaw Township, where three armed ARSA militants were present.

One of the ARSA fighters was killed from a gunshot wound to the chest. The AA seized two G3 rifles (produced by the junta), magazines, ammunition, and other military supplies.

The AA continues to pursue the remaining militants who fled the scene.


6. Captured Soldier Claims He Was Forcefully Recruited and Escaped

According to the Daung Nyi Naung Urban Guerrilla Force, a junta soldier who had received basic military training was captured while hiding in Kanpyar Village, Salin Township.

The detainee, identified as 21-year-old Ko Chit Phway, had completed the 6th batch of basic training under LIB-235 of Military Division 101 based in Pakokku.

He reportedly escaped from a junta column advancing toward Mile 20 and claimed to have been forcefully conscripted on September 8, 2024.

The Daung Nyi Naung Urban Guerrilla Force has taken custody of him for further investigation and protection.


7. No Festive Celebrations for Thingyan in Taungtha This Year

April 5, Taungtha Township
The People’s Administration of Taungtha Township, under the National Unity Government (NUG), has issued a directive banning all Thingyan (Water Festival) festivities for the year 1386 (2024).

The order prohibits festivities, music, dance performances, and large-scale water celebrations out of respect for fallen resistance fighters, civilians affected by junta airstrikes and arson, displaced war victims, and those suffering from the recent earthquake.

The NUG has declared April 13 to 20 as a national week of mourning and solidarity.

The public is urged not to build festival stages, hold musical or dance performances (including loudspeakers), or organize any celebratory water fights during the Thingyan period.
