1. At the National Unity Government’s 5/2024 cabinet meeting, the implementation of the action plans of the joint position was discussed
The Cabinet meeting of the National Unity Government (5/2024) was held on February 6, and was attended by Acting President Duwa Lashi La, Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann, Union Ministers, and Deputy Ministers.
During the meeting, Acting President Duwa Lashi La delivered an opening speech, followed by the Union Prime Minister.
At the meeting, the cabinet members discussed the implementation of the action plans included in the “Joint Position Statement by Allied Organisations Engaged in Revolutionary Struggle towards Annihilation of Military Dictatorship and Establishment of a Federal Democratic Union” released on January 31.
Among the action plans of the joint position statement, it includes “Continued political and military pressure (internal and external) against the military junta, and Negotiations with the responsible leadership of the Myanmar military to terminate military rule and for peaceful transition of power, subject to their unconditional acceptance of the six political objectives.”
After that, the Union Prime Minister reviewed and discussed what was presented. The meeting successfully ended with Acting President’s final remarks.
2. Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung said that the terrorist military council is working to turn society into a cruel society
Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung said through social media on February 6 that the terrorist military council is working to turn society into a cruel society.
“The terrorist military council is causing fear among the people and perpetuating extreme brutality. Additionally, they are deliberately inciting hate crimes in order to suppress our revolution and deter the population from standing by the principles of the movement. Not only are they showcasing heinous acts of violence and the loss of human life, they are also creating a society marked by cruelty. They are criminals who have committed a grave crime against humanity,” the minister said.
On February 5, 2024, at approximately 10:15 in the morning, 4 children and 1 civilian were killed and 10 children were injured when the terrorist military council bombed 2 basic education middle school buildings in Daw Si Ei Village, west of Demoso, Karenni State (Kayah State), while the children were studying.
In addition, during the Alliance Operation in Myauk Khin Yan Village, Gangaw Township, two members of the People’s Defense Force were arrested and burned alive by military junta soldiers.
3. Yangon Hluttaw Draft Committee and Yangon Hluttaw Representatives Scrutiny Committee formed with 7 members each
The sixth meeting of the Yangon Hluttaw was held on February 6, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. via an online zoom meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Daw Aye Aye Mar from Lanmadaw Township Constituency No. (1) and 52 of the Yangon Hluttaw representatives attended the meeting.
Members of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, NLD Party Central Executive Committee members, Central Working Committee members and Yangon Region Executives, partner political forces, Yangon Strike Committee, Yangon Board of Education, elected municipal representatives, PaAaFa, PaKaFa, and PaLaFa representatives attended the meeting as specially invited guests.
At the meeting, U Tint Lwin from Puzundaung Township Constituency No. (2) was elected as Speaker of Yangon Hluttaw, and U Thein Myint from Tamwe Township Constituency No. (2) was elected as Vice Speaker.
After that, the Hluttaw Speaker and the Deputy Speaker swore an oath in front of the Hluttaw and the Chair.
After that, the Hluttaw approved the establishment of the Yangon Hluttaw Draft Committee and Yangon Hluttaw Representatives Scrutiny Committees with 7 members each.
4. Sagaing Federal Unit’s Interim Constitution Drafting Commission Meeting (1/2024) was held
The Sagaing Federal Unit’s Interim Constitution Drafting Commission Meeting (1/2024) was held on February 6 via a conference.
Commission members from various groups attended the meeting and discussed the commission’s next steps.
The chairman and secretaries of CRSFUH also attended as observers, and the meeting successfully ended at 13:15 p.m.
5. There have been 75 women who were killed by the terrorist junta, of which 12 were under 18
The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (Burma) stated this in its daily briefing in relation to the military coup, updated on February 6.
It stated, “According to the data collected by the AAPP, from January 1 to February 6, 2024, (75) women were killed by the junta across the country, with (12) people who were under the age of 18. Among (75) deceased, Sagaing Region records the highest number of fatalities with (22) victims and (32) people killed by the junta’s artillery strikes, recording the highest number of deaths.”
As of February 6, a total of 4,485 people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
6. Over 800 strong military council forces are attacking Kawlin Town, occupied by the revolutionary forces in 5 columns, and torching the villages
According to the Kawlin Revolution – KR, the military council troops has been attacking Kawlin Town in Sagaing Division, which is occupied and controlled by the revolutionary forces, with 5 columns with over 800 troops, and torched the villages passed by.
Since February 3, the military council troops have been attacking the south and north of Kawlin Township with massive force, and the fighting was intense on February 4 and 5. The intense fighting continued until yesterday (February 6).
It is reported that the military council columns arrived at Zee Khon Village in Kawlin Township at 7:00 a.m. on February 6 and burned it down. In addition, that morning, fighting broke out near Zee Khon Village and between Nyaung Pin Thar Village and Kyaukkar Village in the west of Kawlin. The military council troops suffered losses and retreated. Then, they burned down Si Son Village.
At present, the military council army has reinforced many more military forces with 2 vehicles from the Wuntho Battalion to the north of Kawlin, Aung Chan Thar Village, and Pekone Village, and the fighting is going on continuously.
Kawlin District Battalion 2 has announced that the military council troops are launching offensives by dividing into columns: 1 column from the side of Wuntho, Innkapin, and Aung Kone Village; 1 column from Zee Phyu Pin Village; 1 column from the villages of Alekon and Oak Shit Kone; 1 column from the villages of Koe Taung Boet and War Yon Khon of Kanbalu; 1 column from Si Son Village; and 1 column from Hlae Pwe Village.
7. Fighting going on in Lwe Put Village, Hsihseng Township, and due to the military council’s artillery shelling and aerial bombardment, the civilians’ houses in the village were on fire
In the morning of February 6, intense fighting broke out between the joint forces of the PNLO and allied forces and the joint forces of the military council and PNO militia, which have launched an offensive to Lwe Put Village and Hsihseng Township in southern Shan State, and the military council is conducting aerial bombardments.
Since the evening of February 5, the joint forces of the military council and PNO militia launched an offensive to Lwe Put Village by firing around 50 artillery shells and were engaged in intense fighting with the joint forces of PNLO and allied forces.
“They are still fighting. Throwing heavy weapons into the village, the military council and the PNO joined forces have launched an offensive on the village, and fired heavy artillery at the village. They opened fire with 60-mm shelling from a distance. Only the civilians’ houses are destroyed. They fired indiscriminately at the village with many artillery shells,” said a PNLO official to Tachileik News Agency.
The PNLO stated that, as they knew in advance that the fighting would happen, the residents were asked to flee since yesterday morning, and the remaining residents stuck in the battle were also kept in safe places.
During the battle, the military council air force bombarded Lwe Put Village with aircrafts 3 times at around 11:00 a.m.

It is reported that the terrorist junta army burned alive 2 comrades of the YDF arrested from Alliance Operation in Myauk Khin Yan Village, Gangaw Township, to death. The incident is said to take place in November, at the end of 2023.
“We salute the martyred heroes, Comrade Pho Tay and Comrade Thar Htaung, who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the people in Alliance Operation in Myauk Khin Yan Village, Gangaw Township, on November 7, 2023,” Yaw Defence Force (YDF) stated.
On November 7, 2023, Pyu Saw Htee Force and the military in Myauk Khin Yan Village were attacked by the allied forces of YDF, YPDF, CNA, CDF-KKG, Nagar Nyin Naung PaKaFa, and Yaw Nyi Naung PaKaFa. During the battle, 2 revolutionary comrades were captured by the junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee Force from Myauk Khin Yan Village. The captured comrades were chained and burned alive by the junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members.
9. Attacking the Thein Za Yat police station with drones and heavy weapons
On February 5, at about 9:50 a.m., joint revolutionary forces attacked the Thein Za Yat police station in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, with 60-mm and fixed-wing drones. The police station fired back by aiming at the drones with small arms, said an official of the Yangon Eagles (Eagle Brigade).
“Around 9:50 a.m., Thein Za Yat police station was attacked by 60-mm and drones. The enemy fired back by aiming at the drones with small arms continuously,” said an official from Yangon Eagles (EB).
He added that it was heard that the military council soldiers inside the police station were injured during the attack, and the exact number could not be confirmed yet.
“There are casualties from the enemy. I heard that the police station was directly hit. We have also received information about picking up the injured ones. As for their side, as usual, they spread propaganda that the bombs fell here and there,” a Yangon Eagles (EB) team official said.
The attack was carried out by KNU/KNLA, IAF (Iron Adventures Force), Yangon Eagles (EB), Thein Za Yat PaKaFa, Inntakaw PaKaFa, Kawa PaKaFa and Yangon Northern District PaKaFa.
In addition, on February 2, at around 2:00 p.m., there was an encounter between the joint forces of KNU/KNLA, IAF (Iron Adventures Force), Yangon Eagles (EB), Thein Za Yat PaKaFa, and Kyaikto PaKaFa and the military council force that approached the Kyaukpongyi stadium in Thein Za Yat Town with about 15 forces.
Yangon Eagles (EB) said that the military council troops retreated at about 5:30 p.m. that day, and the enemy’s casualties have not yet been confirmed.
Also on last February 1, the joint revolutionary forces attacked a quarry gate near IB-207 in Thein Za Yat Town, killing 3 military council soldiers and injuring at least 10 others.
10. The car in which Colonel Chan Myae Aung, a member of the Administrative Council in Yesagyo Township, was riding, was attacked
According to the Yesagyo Township People’s Defence Force, they ambushed the car in which Colonel Chan Myae Aung, a member of the Administrative Council in Yesagyo Township, Magway Division, was riding.
On February 4, at past 4:00 p.m., the car in which Colonel Chan Myae Aung was riding in from IB-258 was ambushed near the entrance sign to Yesagyo Township.
“The place where the shooting took place was between the Yesagyo police station and the entrance sign. The shootings were a lot. The car didn’t stop and ran away,” a Yesagyo PaKaFa official told Myaelatt Athan Media.
Colonel Chan Myae Aung was from the IB-257, and he was ambushed when he was returning to Yesagyo from the IB-257 located on the Yesagyo-Mandalay road section after getting the information ahead.
As a result of the shooting, Colonel Chan Myae Aung was injured with bullet wounds on his legs and hands, and the casualties of the remaining people in the car were still under investigation.
Although the car in which an administrative council member colonel was riding was attacked, the military council troops in the township were unable to come to the scene of the incident to investigate, according to locals.
Last January 31, the military council troops who came to clear a fake mine at the old toll gate near Kyauk Hlay Khar Village, Yesagyo Township, were attacked with paper-mines.
