The Union Minister of Planning, Finance and Investment of the National Unity Government, U Tin Tun Naing, signed a statement on the night of February 3, saying that he would like to express his gratitude and honor to the surrounding people and users who have always supported NUG Pay since its inception.

“Thanks to the people for their unwavering revolutionary support for NUG Pay, the total value of financial transactions is now hitting 1000 billion (1 trillion), marking a significant milestone for a public financial system run by the people who stood up against military oppression. We are very grateful to the people and the users who have always supported us, even in challenging times since NUG Pay was started,” he said.

The National Unity Government’s Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment launched the Digital Myanmar Kyat (DMMK) and NUG Pay mobile wallet program in June 2022.

Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe said that they are ready to end the participation of the Myanmar military in Myanmar politics at the Myanmar issue discussion held at the European Parliament.

The ‘Rebuilding democracy in post-coup Myanmar Event’ was held at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. local time on February 1, 2024, the 3rd anniversary of the illegal military coup in Myanmar.

The Minister of Human Rights said that in addition to Argentina, Turkey, and the Philippines, which are currently preparing to file a case against the terrorist military council, they are also looking for countries that can take further action.

“We are making use of both international judicial mechanisms and the Universal Jurisdiction procedure to prosecute the terrorist military council and its associates. Through the Universal Jurisdiction path, efforts are being made to identify countries willing to pursue legal action, such as Argentina, Turkey, and the Philippines, which are currently initiating cases and preparing for prosecution,” the Union Minister said.

The European Parliament In ASEAN reported that the European Parliament received the NUG government delegation.

On the 3rd anniversary of the brutal military coup, the European Parliament said it received a NUG delegation.

In the meeting, they discussed the construction of an all-inclusive federal democratic union in the post-revolutionary period.

The Blood Money Campaign has sent an appeal to the Move Forward Party to immediately stop PTT directly funding the military council’s war crimes and human rights violations.

According to reports from the media controlled by the Myanmar military junta, in the 6 months to March 2022, it is known that more than 1,700 million U.S. dollars were received from the oil and natural gas enterprise alone, and most of the oil money is paid by the PTT Company.

Therefore, in order to stop PTT from transferring oil and gas money to terrorist warlords, they said they have sent an appeal to investigate it within the parliament’s ability according to Thailand’s state-owned business policies and to point out PTT’s direct support for the war crimes and crimes committed by the Myanmar military junta against humanity.

The Karenni Political Prisoners Association (KPPA) and Political Prisoners Network – Myanmar (PPNM) have issued a joint statement revealing that despite completing their prison sentences, 20 individuals, including political prisoners, are being unjustly detained at Loikaw Prison in Loikaw, Karenni State, under the guise of security reasons.

Joint Statement (2/2024) stated as follows:

“14 criminal prisoners who were released on January 4, 2024, from Loikaw prison and 6 political prisoners who were detained for political reasons, 20 in total have not returned to their respective families.

It was learnt that the prison authorities are still holding the released prisoners in the prison under the pretext of the security situation in Loikaw city.

 The continued detention of such prisoners by the authorities for various reasons is a violation of human rights.

Therefore, we request the ICRC and the United Nations OCHA to assist and intervene in instructing the Department of Prisons the immediate release of the (14) criminal prisoners who have completed serving their sentences and also political prisoners who should be released, and the repatriation of freed prisoners at time of conflict.”

According to PPNM records, there are about 500 prisoners, including political prisoners, in the Loikaw Prison.

Karenni Nationalities Defense Force – KNDF- B08 has informed that Deputy Commander-in-Chief Mawi attended the graduation ceremony of the basic military training of the Karenni National Defense Force recruits.

KNDF- B08’s Basic Military Training Course Batch-4 was conducted for 10 days from January 21 to 31, and the graduation ceremony was held on February 1.

KNDF-B08 announced on February 3 that the Deputy Commander-in-Chief Mawi attended the graduation ceremony, and he explained the military rules and regulations of the KNDF. Then, he gave a welcome speech to the new recruits.

Since the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) is in need of human resources in Loikaw Township, where the flames of war are raging, the KNDF Central Logistics Unit has invited the public to participate in Loikaw-based Strategy 7.

The 11.11 Operation in the Karenni regions has been going on for almost 3 months, and though the Karenni revolutionary forces have been able to control more than half of the city of Loikaw, new recruits are invited in order to demolish the military council mechanism and annihilate the military council.   

It is said that the new recruits will have the opportunity to participate in the – KNDF Strategy 7, based in the Loikaw region.

“As we all know, the flames of war are raging in the Loikaw region now. The people are also suffering, and the military council is burning down public property every day. This situation is happening all over the country, not just in Loikaw. In Karenni, for the past 3 years, the war has been raging in Demoso and other areas, and people have been made homeless. Now it’s happening in Loikaw. To overcome this situation, we need people who will revolutionize the military dictatorship,” said an official of the KNDF Central Logistics Unit.

Regardless of race, religion, and gender, anyone between the ages of 18 and 40 who wants to join the revolution against the military dictator can participate not only in combat but also in the office, medical support, and other sectors.

The KNDF will train and teach the KNDF’s procedures properly, in addition to what the new recruits should have, so those who want to participate in the final battles can contact them through the ‘The Fence’ social media page.

On February 3, the Anti-dictatorship People’s Revolution Army (ADRPA) informed that the hand-made RPG was jointly developed and produced by comrades from the production platoon of the Anti-dictatorship People’s Revolution Army (ADRPA), Yinmarbin District Battalion 30 Company 2, and a production mechanic from an ethnic armed group.

“This is a hand-made RPG that was jointly developed and produced by comrades from the production platoon of the Anti-dictatorship People’s Revolution Army (ADRPA), Yinmarbin District Battalion 30 Company 2, and a production mechanic from an ethnic armed group,” it stated.

It is said that each RPG and five RPG bombs cost around 60,000 Myanmar kyats. Although there are still requirements, it is convenient to use on the battlefield.

CDF Matupi has released that after 6 junta soldiers were injured due to a mine attack by CDF Matupi’s on the junta column from IB-304 based in Matupi Town, which was marching towards the Mindat-Matupi Union road in Chin State, the junta column burned down the entire village of Chan Pyan (B).

On February 1, CDF Matupi attacked the IB-304 column with a force of around 200 marching towards the village of Chan Pyan (B) on the Mindat – Matupi road, and 6 soldiers were injured. The suffered junta troops burned down the civilian houses in Chan Pyan (B) Village for no reason at around 8 a.m. on February 2.

About half of the 200-strong column has retreated towards Matupi town, but there are still about 100 strong left, so the CDF-Matupi has warned the public not to use the Mindat-Matupi Union road and not to go hunting since the fighting can happen at any time.

On February 3, it was announced that 2 militia, including the leader, under the military council were arrested along with weapons by the Taung Nyo Column, No. (3) Sub-Military Region, Southern Military Regional Command Headquarters, People’s Defence Force.

On January 29, the leader of the Karoppi militia, U Cartoon (aka) U Maung Sein, was arrested while working at his fish farm in Karoppi Village, Thanbyuzayat Township, according to the Taung Nyo Column. In the arrest, he, militia member U Maung, and 4 workers, were arrested without resisting, and a 5-bore gun, 11 rounds of 0.380 ammunition, an AK 47 rifle and 20 cartridges were seized from U Cartoon. Furthermore, it is reported that militia guns—two AK-47 rifles, one M16 rifle, and 21 rounds of ammunition—were recovered from the house of U Cartoon.

Among those captured, 4 unrelated workers were released, and two militia, including the leader, were detained in accordance with the law established by the Southern Military Regional Command by Taung Nyo Column Company 1. It is also reported that they will be handed over to the relevant parties.

The KNU headquarters announced that the terrorist military’s fighter jet dropped 500-pound bombs on Kawkareik Township in Karen State, destroying a school and some houses.

It is reported that a Yak-130 jet fighter from the Nay Pyi Taw Air Force intentionally dropped 3 500-pound bombs on the campus of Mitan Village School near Kyaikdon, Kawkareik Township, at 1:20 a.m. on February 1.

In addition, the terrorist military is firing heavy weapons at villages near Kyaikdon Town on a daily basis, causing more than 20,000 people to flee their homes.
