Over the last 32 months, the military junta has engaged in extrajudicial killings, torture, and serious and systematic violation of human rights. It has executed pro-democracy activists, human rights defenders, and young people. Voices of civil society and journalists have been strangled, while arbitrary arrests, enforced disappearances and torture continue.” 

3. The deadline for the 2023 Basic Education Completion Assessment (BECA) second term is October 31

The NUG Ministry of Education announced on October 21 that the deadline for the 2023 Basic Education Completion Assessment (BECA) second term is October 31.

“The second term for the Basic Education Completion Assessment (BECA), which was first opened on August 2, 2023, will expire its 3-month period on October 31, 2023, so there are only 10 days left. So, we informed students who have registered to take the BECA to be noted,” it stated.

The Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government started the Basic Education Completion Assessment (BECA) in February 2023, and held it once in February and once in August.

The Basic Education Completion Assessment (BECA) will be based on the previous tenth grade (old system) curriculum, but instead of questions that encourage memorization, students’ subject-related Knowledge and Understanding, Application and Analysis, and Creative Problem-solving related to real life have been examined and evaluated.

6. 2 junta soldiers were killed in simultaneous attacks on the places where the terrorist army was stationed in Kanpetlet, Chin State

On the morning of October 20, CDF Kanpetlet confirmed that 2 junta soldiers were killed in simultaneous attacks on the places where the terrorist army was stationed in Kanpetlet, Chin State.

7. 11 junta soldiers were killed in a two-day attack on the junta’s camp in Phyu Township

On October 21, the Special Force Column-Special Operation Commando Battalion (SOC), Yoma Column-2, confirmed the military news that 11 junta soldiers were killed in a two-day attack on junta camp in Phyu Township.

“On October 19, knowing that the terrorist junta soldiers were stationed in Lay Eain Su Village in Phyu Township, Bago Region, our Yoma Column-2 and joint forces attacked with drone bombs once at 2:37 p.m. and once at 5:00 p.m., resulting in a total of 4 enemy deaths and many injuries,” it stated.

On October 20, at around 8:30 p.m. at 8:30 p.m., Yoma Column-2 and joint forces attacked the enemy camp located next to the Oakphyat Bridge in Phyu Township, Bago Region, which was firmly deployed by the terrorist junta soldiers.

In that attack, 7 members of the terrorist military council were killed and four were injured, according to ground sources.

On October 21, Kyun Hla Kanbalu Activists Group – Kanbalu District informed that about 10 Pyu members were killed on the spot when revolutionary forces attacked a Pyu village base camp in Htan Kone Ward of Kanbalu District.

“On October 21, at around 9:30 in the morning, the Kanbalu-Underground Warriors group and local resistance forces launched a small-arms guerrilla attack on the Pyu base camp in Yaw Village, Htan Kone Ward, Kanbalu Township. About 10 Pyu members died on the spot and many escaped with injuries, it was learned from an official of the Kanbalu Underground Warriors group,” it stated.

It is reported that the revolutionary forces were able to retreat unharmed during the attack.

9. In the crowded areas of Monywa, the “Buu (Not Doing) Strike” was carried out for Financial Warfare 

It is reported that on October 21, Anyar Pit Taing Htaung Lay Myar staged a strike against the use of military products in the crowded areas of Monywa.
