1. The National Unity Government condemns the military junta’s expulsion of Timorese diplomat from Myanmar, stating it is customary, unlawful, and inappropriate

On August 28, the National Unity Government issued a statement on the terrorist military junta’s expulsion of the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Timor-Leste from Myanmar.

The statement asserts that the military junta, as an illegal organisation that has unlawfully taken control of the country’s power through the use of force, lacks the authority to make decisions on international diplomatic relations, and that authority rests solely with the people of Myanmar and the legitimate government duly elected by them.

“The expulsion of Timorese Charge d’Affaires from Myanmar is a customary, unlawful and inappropriate act of the illegitimate military junta,” the NUG government said in the statement.

The National Unity Government expressed respect and appreciation for Timor-Leste’s position, which values fundamental democratic principles and standards, the rule of law, and human dignity, and lauded Timor-Leste as an outstanding model for others to follow.

2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold an online press conference on the ministry’s current foreign affairs initiatives and future plans

According to the announcement of the National Unity Government announced on August 28, Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung, Deputy Minister U Moe Zaw Oo, and Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold an online press conference at 5:00 p.m. Myanmar standard time on August 29 (Tuesday) to clarify the current foreign affairs initiatives and future plans.

On Facebook, the National Unity Government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and media outlets will stream the press conference live.

3. The combined forces of the Seven Ravens Column and the KNLA ambush a junta vehicle convoy travelling on the Yangon-Mawlamyine Expressway in Mon State

According to the Seven Ravens Column’s report on August 27, the combined forces of the Seven Ravens Column and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA/KNU) ambushed a convoy of five military council vehicles carrying around 100 soldiers and travelling on the Yangon-Mawlamyine Expressway in Mon State at 12:25 p.m. on August 27.

According to the report, after receiving intelligence, the combined forces of the Seven Ravens Column and the KNLA ambushed the military convoy near Daung hill outside Ingapo village, Kyaikto Township, Mon State. The ambush wrecked a junta military truck, and the suffering soldiers on the trucks then opened fire on Ingapo village, causing damage in the village and wounding three villagers.

According to the report, the damaged military truck was towed back, and there were casualties among the junta soldiers.

4. In Thabeikkyin Township in Mandalay, the people’s defence forces attacked a junta security post on the motorway, killing one policeman and seizing a G3 rifle

According to the reports, near Twin Nge village in Thabeikkyin Township, the Takbeikkyin people’s defence organisation (Pa-Ka-Fa/PDO) and the TBK Wild Elephant Guerrilla Force joined forces to launch an attack on a junta security post situated on the motorway leading to Momeik at 2:45 p.m. on August 26.

The attack resulted in the death of one junta policeman and the injury of another while seizing a G3 gun.

5. Sixty healthcare employees in Kanpetlet Township, who are collaborating with the military junta, have been blacklisted

On August 28, the Kanpetlet Township people’s administrative organisation (Pa-Ah-Fa/PAO) published a blacklist of healthcare workers who continue to work under the military junta in Kanpetlet Township.

It was said that 60 healthcare employees from the Heath Department in Kanpetlet Township were placed on the blacklist according to the finding of the CDM/Non-CDM Investigation Committee of the Kanpetlet Township people’s administrative organisation that they continue to serve under the military council.

The Kanpetlet Township people’s administrative organisation stated that additional blacklists will be published for those non-CDM employees from the various departments who are continuing to serve under the military junta. If any CDM employees are listed on the blacklist, they can submit an appeal to the committee with convincing proof asking for their names to be removed.
