With the funds received from the campaign until July (26), 1,196 households, including war victims whose homes were burned by the terrorist military council in Sagaing and Magway regions, those in need of emergency shelter during the rainy season, and long-term refugees in urgent need of food, have been provided with emergency food, temporary tents and shelters, and a total of (70,077,100 kyats) has already been supported.

“NUG’s delegation had fruitful meetings with Myanmar Communities (all ethnics) in Texas, USA including consultation meeting with Rohingya and Burmese Muslim community leaders in Houston, Texas. Diasporas in Houston also raised over $10,400 for NUG MOHADM to support IDPs,” it tweeted.

After the encounter on July 18, the terrorist military council reinforced its forces and attacked again in 4 columns with an estimated strength of more than 300 from battalions such as LlIB-407, IB-104, LIB-408, IB-282, etc. near the Alel Sakhan on the border of Ye Township of Mon State and Yebyu Township of Tanintharyi Region. It is reported that the KNLA Battalion 27, YGF- Ye Guerrilla Force and joint forces fought against the advancing terrorist military council column for 6 days from July 19 to July 24.

The YGF said that they fought back using heavy weapons, small arms, and mines, and during the 6-day battle, the enemy suffered many injuries and about 100 junta soldiers were killed.

As of July 17, 2023, according to the latest figures from the United Nations, the number of internally displaced people across Myanmar had reached nearly 1.9 million, of which nearly 1.6 million had fled their homes due to the conflict and insecurity that occurred after the military coup in February 2021.
