At the United Nations General Assembly Plenary Meeting on the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) and the Prevention of Genocide, War Crimes, Ethnic Cleansing and Crimes Against Humanity held on June 30, Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations, said that it is necessary for the UN Security Council to adopt effective follow-up measures to UNSC Resolution 2669.
“Myanmar people are determined to end the inhumane junta and rebuild their country by reestablishing the rule of law, democracy and respect for human rights under the federal governance system that guarantees self-determination for the ethnic peoples. Unfortunately, with no adequate action from the international community, the military junta has been emboldened to continue further serious international crimes with total impunity. Over the past six months, the military has escalated its brutal attacks, meant to instill terror and intimidation. We all are witnessing of the military’s escalating brutality and attacks following the adoption of UNSC resolution 2669. Clearly, the UN Security Council needs to adopt effective follow-up measures to the resolution,” the Ambassador said.
In addition, the ambassador requested not to equip the inhumane military with the weapons and technologies they can use to commit further war crimes and crimes against humanity, and not to help fund the military’s brutal campaign of terror against Myanmar people.
6. The KNPLF said that they would cooperate more politically and militarily with the NUG government

On July 1, the Central Committee of the Karenni National People’s Liberation Front (KNPLF) issued a statement (1/2023).
According to the statement, the time has come for the KNPLF to formally and explicitly carry out military operations.
The KNPLF participated in armed resistance in the Spring Revolution after clashes with the military council on June 13, 2023, in Taunghla, Metanwe, BP 14, and Mese in the east of Thanlwin in Karenni State.
7. Kyauktaga Township PaKaFa will recruit new members
On July 1, Kyauktaga PaKaFa announced the recruitment of new PaKaFa members.
“Kyauktaga Township PaKaFa will be recruiting new members, and military training will be provided. So please contact the relevant PaKaFa members in your area to register, and we warmly welcome and invite you,” it stated.
With special emphasis on the safety of the trainees, inquiries must be accepted by new members. It must be men and women under the age of 40 in good health to attend the military training for at least 45 days.
At the end of the training period, he must be able to serve in Kyauktaga Township, and if he is found to be related to the military council during the training period, he will be judged according to the NUG military laws.
8. The campaign “Call from Yoma” has raised a fund of 77,000 USD in one week

The campaign “Call from Yoma” will be conducted from June 25 to July 16 in order to raise the required budget for the Salmon Operation in order for our comrades in Yangon, Bago, and Ayeyarwady regions to be able to return home.
The Salmon Operation is an operation designed to gain territorial dominance over the Bago Yoma and Sittaung River basins, which is important for the military strategy of the Spring Revolution.
