On June 9, Union Minister for Human Rights U Aung Myo Min said that, despite facing inhumane violence, the heroes of the Rainbow Spring are actively participating in the Spring Revolution.

“LGBTIQ people in Myanmar are demanding that their existence be accepted and fight for equal human rights, and since the beginning of the Spring Revolution, they have been actively participating in the front line in fighting against the terrorist military dictatorship together with the people. On the other hand, the people who are fighting against injustice are being cracked down on, arrested, tortured, and killed by the terrorist military council in all kinds of cruel ways. Among these tortures, more inhumane and severe violence is practiced against people of different sexual orientations. Despite this inhuman violence, the heroes of the Rainbow Spring continue to actively participate in the Spring Revolution,” said the Union Minister.

It also stated that the Ministry of Human Rights bows down to the martyrs of the Rainbow Spring who died while trying to fight during the Spring Revolution.

It is reported that the Union Minister personally cooked food for the people’s comrades on the front lines.

On June 9, Union Minister of Women, Youth and Children Affairs Naw Susanna Hla Hla Soe said.

On June 9, the Myanmar Defense Force-Shwebo informed the military news that the junta’s logistics convoy of 2 vehicles that came out of Shwebo to support the troops stationed in Pa Laing Village was attacked, killing 8 junta soldiers.

“On the morning of June 8, when a logistics column of about 50 junta soldiers that came from Shwebo Town in 2 vehicles to support the junta troops stationed in Pa Laing village, entered Maetaw Village through Chipar Village carrying rice and food, the defense forces attacked them with mines and small arms after waiting ahead,” it stated.

The encounter lasted for 15 minutes, and five junta soldiers were killed on the spot.

After that, when the troops were retreating the way they had come in disarray, they were attacked again with 40 mm near the exit of Chipar Village. Three junta soldiers were killed and four were injured. Upon fleeing, they set fire to public shops on the roadside.

5. A column of over 60 military council troops that came out after rampaging through Pareinma Village was ambushed, killing one and injuring two

It is reported that a column of over 60 military council troops from Myaung Township’s Kyaukyit Police Station was ambushed when they returned after rampaging Pareinma Village, killing one junta soldier and injuring two others.

On June 9, Sagaing District Battalion-4 confirmed the military news.

“At about 6:00 a.m. on June 9, when a column of over 60 military council troops from Kyaukyit police station returned after violently rampaging Pareinma Village, allied forces with the Sagaing District Battalion-4 (MSPDF) leadership who were waiting near Myasan Village ambushed them with heavy weapons and small arms,” it stated.

In the ambush, 1 member of the terrorist military council was killed on the spot and 2 were injured.

There may be more casualties and the investigation is still ongoing. The terrorist military council fired back with heavy weapons and small arms, but the people’s defense forces were able to retreat unharmed.

In addition, as the junta forces were raiding the village, they shot and killed 2 local men who tried to flee out of fear,” it stated.

At 5:30 p.m. on June 9, a fierce battle broke out between the two sides and the residents fled.

It is reported that the junta’s air support came and opened fire as the junta troops were severely damaged in the battle.

The movement was held holding a banner “Only the people are the main for the end of the dictatorship” and chanting anti-dictatorship slogans, and many women, youth and local people participated.
