Myanmar Spring Revolution Morning Fresh News for 2023 May 5

1. Acting President Duwa Lashi La called on the people to participate in the EOD projects, which seek the necessary financial resources for the success of the Spring Revolution

On May 4, NUG Acting President Duwa Lashi La said that in his message to the public calling on them to participate in the End of Dictatorship (EOD) projects.

“I would like to express my gratitude to all the people who have consistently stood up to the Spring Revolution. The people’s participation in this revolution is very important, and we are achieving success because of the people’s support. We need the people’s all-round efforts to reach the victory of the Spring Revolution, so I want to inform and encourage people to continue participating. I would also like to urge the people to participate as much as possible in the programs to raise the funds necessary for the success of the Spring Revolution,” he said.

Currently, we are selling the remaining Spring Inya Condo rooms starting on April 29, 2023. The Spring Inya Condo with 750 rooms for sale will be built on 30 acres of land belonging to the terrorist military on Parami Road, along U Tun Nyein Road, after confiscating it according to the law.

2. Regarding the complaints to be dealt with, the Union Prime Minister urged establishing procedures as soon as possible and dealing with them

3. About 6.6 billion Myanmar kyats of humanitarian aid were provided to the people who were suffering due to the terrorist military council

At its 2-year anniversary press release held on May 3, NUG stated that it was able to provide humanitarian assistance worth 6.6 billion Myanmar kyat to the people who were suffering due to the terrorist military council.

“NUG was able to provide humanitarian assistance worth of 6.6 billion Myanmar Kyat (USD 2.3 million). This food assistance reaches over 200,000 internally displaced each month. 

Temporary accommodation, such as tents, has been provided for and to date a total of 2,239 tents had been provided for,” it stated.

4. Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe said that we need to end fascism 

Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe said that the end of fascism is coming. On May 4, the Minister of the Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Health, Dr. Zaw Wai Soe said:

“We are about to end the fascism in the spring revolution that started from zero. We can now threaten Nay Pyi Taw. We can control Chin and Karenni. The fascists have lost their place in Sagaing and Magway. We have already won victories in Karen, Bago, Mon, Mandalay, and Tanintharyi.” 

On September 7, 2021, the National Unity Government declared the start of the People’s Resistance Movement. According to records, during the People’s Resistance War, an estimated 30,000 junta enemy forces were crushed to death, and more than 10,000 were injured.

5. Procedures to respond to attempts by the terrorist junta to form illegal labor organizations were discussed

It is reported that the procedures that will be carried out in response to the attempts of the terrorist military group to form illegal labor organizations were discussed. On May 2, the CRPH Labour Affairs Committee and the NUG Ministry of Labour held a meeting regarding this. 

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Labour Affairs Committee, U Okkar Min, gave the opening speech, and Union Minister U Nai Suwunna, in his greetings, said, “We will work together in unity with courage and determination in fighting the military dictator. We must try our utmost for all our workers. We must cooperate together unitedly for the eradication of the dictatorship.”

After that, officials from the ministry explained the procedures to respond to the terrorist junta’s attempts to organize labor organizations illegally and its future plans. Then, they exchanged views with each other regarding the topics that will need to be discussed in the meeting with the International Labor Organization (ILO) regarding violations of the rights of local workers and migrant workers abroad and business processes and plans for cooperation between the two sides.

“On 5th June 2021 the NUG organized and formed the Ministry of Justice with civil servants, judiciary officials, judges and academics who were all part of the Civil Disobedience Movement in order to afford justice and uphold the rule of law for the public during the interim and transition periods. At the moment, in this interim period, there are 25 township law courts with 118 judges who are able to pass judgment on criminal and civil cases,” it stated.

On April 11, 168 people were killed in an airstrike on Pazigyi Village, Kanbalu Township, and the NUG government has filed a case against the military leaders and informants responsible for the incident.

7. The Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration met and discussed with the district people’s administrative bodies

On May 4, the meeting between the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration, and the district people’s administrative bodies (16/2023) was held.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister U Khu Hte Bu of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration, gave an opening speech.

Following, the Permanent Secretary of MOHAI explained the activities of the ministries, and the attending members of the district people’s administrative bodies exchanged views with relevant officials regarding the needs, difficulties, and challenges encountered on the ground.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister U Khu Hte Bu, Permanent Secretary, officials from the Public Administration Department, People Police Force, Fire Department, Immigration Department, and Department of Special Investigation, and members of the district people’s administrative bodies.

In Tilin Township, in order to prevent and control the spread of cattle infectious disease, the Tilin Township People’s Administration has temporarily banned the purchase and transportation of cattle. On May 4, announcement No. (5/2023) was announced.

“There are cattle infectious diseases and deaths in some villages in Tilin Township. In order to prevent and control the spread of the disease in time, from May 4 to June 4, we have temporarily banned the purchase and transportation of cattle from within and outside of the township,” it stated.

Currently, due to climate change, the temperature is high and the incidence of disease is increasing.

9. More than 60 enemy junta soldiers were wiped out by the ABSDF column together with the allied forces

On May 4, the Military Column-03 of the All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF) Military Region-01 announced that the ABSDF column was able to wipe out more than 60 enemy junta soldiers in cooperation with the allied forces.

“On March 31, 2023, the police station in Kan Village, Gangaw Township, was raided jointly by Gangaw District PDF Battalions and PaKaHpa. About 45 enemy forces were killed and 10 were injured. Four G3 guns, one G4 gun, and some ammunition were seized,” it stated.

Similarly, on April 3, a column of around 70 junta soldiers marching along the Myittha River in Gangaw was intercepted by the PDF battalions of Gangaw District, local PDFs, and the PaKaHpa near Saingdu Village of Gangaw Town. As a result, 5 junta soldiers were killed.

On April 5, 2023, the junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee, who were leaving from Zeephyukone Village in Pale Township to Kandaung Police Station, were intercepted and attacked, resulting in the deaths of 4 junta soldiers. On April 7, a battle took place near Lapoet Village in Gangaw Township with a 100-strong enemy junta column that left from LIB-50 in Gangaw, and seven enemies were wiped out.

10. The Spring Inya Condos have been sold for up to $7 million

On May 4, End of Dictatorship (EOD) announced that the Spring Inya Condo had been sold for $7 million. 

“As the revolutionary people, they can see the fruits of the advancing revolution every day. The support provided by the revolutionary people has not decreased. The sale of Spring Inya Condominium has reached $7 million. We bow to all the people who gave support with a strong spirit.”

Foreigners are also allowed to buy condo units in Spring Inya Condo. They must pay 40% of the value of the condo they want to buy during the revolution and the remaining 60% after the revolution.
