1. Acting President requested ethnic leaders to be considerate of the people and protect the benefits of the people 

In the cabinet meeting (13/2023) of the National Unity Government, Acting President requested ethnic leaders to be considerate of the people and protect the benefits of the people.

“I would like to make this request again to the ethnic leaders. The terrorist military is trying to destroy the existing understanding among our ethnic leaders and to divide in various ways in order to maintain their power. We all need to take great care about this. Always remember the atrocities of the military that make the people of your region suffer where you have been appointed as a leader. Please be considerate of your people and sympathize with them. I would like to request you once again to protect the benefits of the people in your area with political dignity rather than your own power and self-interest,” he said.

Currently, the National Unity Government and ethnic resistance forces, including the KNU and the KIA, are cooperating with each other for the revolution.

2. A meeting between the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and township people’s administrative bodies of Mandalay and Magway Divisions was held

On April 5, the meeting between the NUG’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and township people’s administrative bodies of Mandalay and Magway Divisions (8/2023) was held.

At the meeting, Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, Union Minister of Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education, and member of ILACC, gave an opening speech.

Following, the People’s Police Force of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration presented their activities, and then, members of the township people’s administrative bodies exchanged views with relevant officials regarding policies, directions, operations, and challenges encountered on the ground.

3. It is said that the military council is developing a slavery system education without giving the students the opportunity to think freely

Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Education, said in an interview in April that the ministry council is developing a slavery system education without giving students the opportunity to think independently.

“It is a system of slave education without giving the students the opportunity to think freely. Students are treated like slaves. Because it suppresses individuals ideas, it is the brutal treatment of the youth by the military dictator who has developed a system of slavery education that suppresses the ideas, concepts, and leadership of the future. They want to raise only slaves, and they are afraid that masters will appear. They are doing it to enslave our young students. They are creating a slavery system in education,” said the minister.

Currently, the terrorist military council frequently restricts and prohibits educational opportunities in classrooms.

4. Somewhere in the liberated area of Kachin region, the People’s Embrace work team met and discussed with people soldiers

On April 5, the Ministry of Defence reported that the People’s Embrace work team met and discussed with people soldiers somewhere in the liberated area of Kachin region.

“Somewhere in the liberated area of Kachin region, free meetings were held on March 19 between members of the People’s Embrace Sheltering Program Implementation Committee of the National Unity Government, the work team, and the people’s soldiers,” it stated.

At the meetings, messages sent by the Acting President Duwa Lashi La, and Union Minister of the Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government were read. Then, U Win Naing, chairman of the People’s Embrace Sheltering Program Implementation Committee of Kachin region and member of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), and a relevant official from the Ministry of Defence gave encouraging speeches.

At the meetings, awarding people’s soldiers surrendering together with weapons, handling items supported by donors, celebrating dinner, entertainment by artist Mai Mai Seng with encouraging songs, Chinlone (Myanmar’s traditional caneball) competition and Chess competition were done.

After that, people soldiers marched to the front lines were met in their camps, provided with the expenses of the battalion, and explained the scenes of Myanmar’s Spring Revolution and educational opportunities.

5. In Myanmar, more than a third of casualties by landmines and other explosive devices are children

On April 5, Unicef Myanmar reported that more than one-third of the casualties caused by landmines and other explosive devices in Myanmar were children.

“More than a third of the casualties caused by landmines and other explosive devices in Myanmar are children. Children should never be harmed by landmines in Myanmar or anywhere else. We need to stop the use of landmines now.”

At present, the junta troops tend to plant landmines near villages and where civilians live.

It is reported that residential houses were destroyed by airstrikes and heavy weapon fire on Sithar Village in Shwegu. On April 5, Shwegu KPDF confirmed the junta attacks.

“Since 12 noon on April 5, residential houses were destroyed by fire due to the firing of heavy weapons from the terrorist columns of the LIB-10, LIB-77, and LIB-88 under the 88th Division and the reinforcements to Sithar village. Many residential houses were destroyed by fire because of three more bombardments by fighter jets,” it reported.

Shwegu KPDF reported that the revolutionary forces are still working harder and resisting the revolution.

7. Junta soldiers raid a PDF camp in Pale region

On April 5, the 19th Battalion of Yinmarbin District informed that a PDF military camp was raided by junta troops in Pale Township, Sagaing Division.

“Yesterday, the Pyu Saw Htee and junta troops that were stationed in Pyu village of Zeehpyukone went to the northwest and burned the Chaung-U Taw Tite. They fired towards Pan Village and Tanei Village with Mi 35 and dropped around 60 junta troops with Mi 17, and a PDF camp in that area was raided,” it stated.

The junta troops are attacking Sagaing Division with excessive force.

8. Junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee who were returning from Myaing Well-2 oil field hit mine

It is reported that the junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee, who were returning from duty shift from the Myaing Well-2 oil field in Magway Division, hit the mine. On April 5, Myaing PaKaHpa confirmed the military news.

“At around 6:00 a.m. on the morning of April 5th, more than 70 people who were returning from the Well-2 oil field after their duty shift, were attacked with 5 mines. 2 police and 2 Pyu Saw Htee members were seriously injured, while 1 police and 1 junta troop were killed” it stated.

It has been reported that the attack was carried out between Kywetwin Village and Waryinchaing Village, by the joint forces of the MUGDF, Zamani Guerilla Force, Myaing PaKaHpa Battalion No. 1, Squadron No. 1 and Squad No.4.
