KDF buys weapons and ammunition
The Karenni Democratic Front (KDF) announced on May 22 that it had purchased weapons and ammunition.
It is stated in the announcement, “The Karenni Democratic Front (KDF) is fighting the urban guerrilla battles and other battles, and was well-supported by local donors and foreign donors.
In the past, KDF asked for donation to buy M79 grenade launcher and received 18 million MMK. 15 million MMK was spent on the weapon and the rest on ammunitions.”
It is added that, recently, KDF also asked for donation to buy AK bullets and received 10 million MMK, spending on 2000 cartridges of AK bullets.

According to local sources, villagers are fleeing after the military set fire to a total of 200 houses in in Hnin Gyi, Lat Khaik and Phat Khat villages on the lower reaches of the river in Mingin Township on May 21.
In Mingin Township, the villages where the army and the Pyu Saw Htee were burnt were, in the lower reaches of the river, Bin, A Nout Taw, Than Pout, Zin Kale, Hnin Kyi, Latt Chate and Phat Kat, and in the southern part, Pwint Hlyat and A Nout Kule, in a total of 10 villages.
Military Council troops, every time after the clashes with local defense forces, often raided and burn villages along the river.
