1. Airstrike in Nwahtogyi Township Kills One Woman and Damages Monastery and Homes

In Nwahtogyi Township, Mandalay Region, the military junta launched an airstrike despite the absence of any clashes. As a result, one woman was killed, and a monastery and some homes were damaged, according to local sources. The airstrike targeted Thanaupin Village and Kyundaung Village at around 1:30 AM on August 31, according to reports. The attack damaged a monastery and a house in the southern part of Kyundaung Village. In Thanaupin Village, a woman was killed, and at least two homes were damaged. On the evening of August 30, artillery shells were fired from Nwahtogyi Police Station towards the southern part of the town. Since the start of the special military operation in Myingyan District on August 10, the military junta has conducted airstrikes on villages in Nwahtogyi Township, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and injuries to at least six others. The military situation in Nwahtogyi Township remains tense, with resistance forces carrying out attacks on military bases.

2. Min Dat Township Hit by Airstrikes Again by the Military Junta

In Chin State’s Min Dat Township, the military junta conducted another airstrike early this morning, August 31, causing damage to civilian homes, according to some local residents. At around 3:00 AM today, a military aircraft dropped a 500-pound bomb and smaller bombs on a village in Min Dat Township. A resident of Min Dat posted photos and information about the attack on social media, reporting that some homes were damaged. The local residents have been warned to be extra cautious as the junta has been conducting airstrikes during the early hours when civilians are asleep. Additionally, the junta dropped supplies to the 274th Infantry Battalion based in Min Dat at around 9:00 AM using a Y12 transport aircraft. In previous supply drops, items such as alcohol, beer, cigarettes, and essentials like oil and salt, as well as drone bombs, were included, according to local sources. The junta also dropped supplies on August 28 near the 274th Battalion, which included ammunition and rations. The junta carried out two airstrikes near Min Dat Town on August 30, using 500-pound bombs and other munitions. The junta has been intensifying airstrikes, drone attacks, and artillery shelling in Min Dat Township this August, leading the Chin Defense Force (CDF) in Min Dat to warn that clashes could occur at any time.

3. 9 Soldiers Killed and Over 20 Wounded in Attack on Reinforcement Convoy Near Anan Kwin Outpost

In Karen State’s Kyar Inn Seik Kyi Township, 9 soldiers were killed, and over 20 were wounded in an attack by a joint force, including the KNLA, on a military convoy near the Anan Kwin strategic outpost along the Three Pagodas Pass-Thantphyu Zayat Road, according to the People’s Defense Force (PDF) Southern Military Region. The KNLA and allied forces attacked the convoy of the 583rd and 587th Battalions providing reinforcement to the Anan Kwin outpost from August 27 to 29. Although the convoy was initially attacked on August 27 and 28, it managed to retreat and proceed from the Seven Mountains Range, prompting further attacks by the joint KNLA and Red Dragon forces. The joint force reported that 9 soldiers were killed, and 24 were wounded in the ambush. The Anan Kwin outpost, where many wounded soldiers are stationed, will continue to be pressured and attacked by the resistance forces, according to the Red Dragon force.

4. School and Residential Buildings Damaged in Airstrike on Lashio Town Held by MNDAA

In Lashio Town, northern Shan State, which is under the control of the Kokang Army (MNDAA), the military junta conducted airstrikes, damaging a school and residential buildings, according to local residents. The junta launched two airstrikes on Lashio Town at around 8:45 PM on August 30, even though there were no ongoing clashes. The airstrikes damaged buildings at No. 8 Basic Education High School and a residential building near No. 8 Middle School, with the top floor of a house being hit by a bomb. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, but the attacks left residents in a state of fear. One resident of Lashio reported that a bomb hit a house near Traffic Light Street before reaching the school, where an unexploded bomb remains. The situation is still being assessed, with relevant authorities compiling detailed reports. These airstrikes came after the MNDAA seized the Eastern Northern Military Headquarters in Lashio.

5. 7 Soldiers Killed and Drone Shot Down in Battle Near Sar Chaung Village, Minhla Township

In a battle near Sar Chaung Village, Minhla Township, western Bago Region, 7 soldiers were killed, and a drone was shot down, according to the Southern Military Region Division 2. The People’s Defense Forces attacked a military convoy in Sar Chaung Village on August 30 at around 12:30 PM, leading to an hour-long exchange of gunfire. During the battle, 7 soldiers were killed, and several others were wounded, and a DIY Multirotor Drone capable of carrying a 6 KG payload was shot down. The attack was carried out by the Southern Military Region Division 2’s Thayawady District 3803 Battalion MDF – Special Force, under the command of the Southern Military Region. One People’s Defense Force member was injured in the battle but is not in critical condition. On July 15, the junta forces burned down houses in Sar Chaung Village, destroying about 300 homes, leading to this attack by the resistance forces.

6. 13 Guns Seized in Attack on Military Outposts in Thabeikkyin Township

In Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region, the resistance forces seized 13 guns in an attack on military outposts at Lay Mai Village and Tower Hill, according to the No. 1 Military Region. The resistance forces began their attack on August 29, successfully capturing the outposts on the morning of August 30. The operation involved the No. 1, 2, 509th, 510th, and 512th Battalions of the Pyin Oo Lwin District, as well as the Pyin Oo Lwin District Drone Unit, Mandalay Region Drone Unit, and the W-89 Unit of Kanbalu District. During the battle, 13 guns, 2,796 bullets, 2 Drone Slayers, 43 60 mm mortar shells, 6 E-Naga grenades, and 22 ammunition boxes were seized, according to the No. 1 Military Region.

7. Urban Guerrilla Force Warns Locals in Chauk Township to Avoid Military-Related Areas

In Chauk Township, Magway Region, the Oak Awe UG Urban Guerrilla Force has warned local residents to avoid military-related offices and personnel, as the force plans to escalate attacks. The warning urges people not to engage with military offices, police stations, military outposts, military personnel, and those who collaborate with the junta.
