1. UWSA Reinforces Lashio:

August 8: Two days after General Min Aung Hlaing, the military leader, declared his intention to reclaim the lost city of Lashio, the UWSA (United Wa State Army) dispatched a significant number of armed soldiers to Lashio on August 7. The troops, bearing the UWSA flag, traveled in approximately 10 military trucks via the Tangyan-Mongyai route, according to local media reports.

On July 27, hundreds of armed UWSA soldiers were first stationed in Lashio, claiming they were there to protect their external relations offices and properties. Despite ongoing fierce battles, there have been no reported damages to UWSA soldiers, offices, or properties in Lashio. The reasons for the latest deployment have not been disclosed.

2. Karenni Revolutionary Forces Capture Bawlakhe Water Outpost:

August 8: The Karenni Revolutionary Forces successfully seized and destroyed the military council’s water outpost located between Mese Town and Bawlakhe in Karenni State, according to sources from Karenni Army (KA) Battalion 5.

The water outpost was captured after a prolonged attempt that began after the successful takeover of the Mese Mountain base by the Karenni Revolutionary Forces on June 25.

3. Naungpoaung Police Station in Hkamti Township Attacked by Drones:

August 8: The Naungpoaung Police Station in Hkamti Township, Sagaing Region, was attacked with bombs dropped from drones, resulting in the deaths of two military council personnel and injuries to several others, as reported by the Homalin People’s Defense Force (HPDF 124).

4. Attack on Military and Pyu Saw Htee Joint Camp in Pulaw Township:

August 8: Revolutionary forces attacked the military council’s joint camp with Pyu Saw Htee militia in Mee Laung Chaung Village, Pulaw Township, Tanintharyi Region, according to an announcement by Myeik District Battalion 1.

The attack, which occurred around 6 a.m. on August 8, lasted for approximately two hours. After heavy fighting, military council forces fled, leaving many casualties behind.

5. DPLF/DPLA and Military Clash in Yatsauk Township, Capturing 8 Prisoners:

August 8: Clashes erupted between the Danu People’s Liberation Front (DPLF/DPLA) and military council forces in the Kyaukgu area of Yatsauk Township, resulting in the capture of eight soldiers and the deaths of nine others. Additionally, 19 weapons were seized by the DPLF/DPLA.

6. Attack on Military Supply Convoy in Saw-Saithpyu Road

August 8: Two military supply trucks and two large military vehicles were attacked with landmines on the Saw-Saithpyu Road in Saithpyu Township, Magway Region, by the Yenantha Youth Force LPDF. The attack, which took place around 7:30 a.m. on August 7, resulted in the deaths of three military personnel and injuries to at least four others. One vehicle was destroyed.

7. Attack on Military Checkpoint in Kyaukhlekhaw Village:

August 8: A military checkpoint set up on the road near Kyaukhlekhaw Village, Yezagyo Township, Magway Region, was attacked by Southern YSO PDF and allied groups using machine guns and 60 mm mortars. The attack occurred on the night of August 6, in response to an earlier shelling by military council forces that killed a 60-year-old civilian and injured a family member.

8. Airstrikes in KIO-Controlled Areas Injure 7 Civilians:

August 8: The military carried out airstrikes on four locations near Laiza in KIO (Kachin Independence Organization) controlled territory, injuring seven civilians, including a pregnant woman. The strikes damaged homes and a church in the affected villages.

9. Shelling in Thantawgyi Village Kills 4 Civilians:

August 8: On August 7, at around 4 p.m., the military shelled Thantawgyi Village in Yinmarbin Township, Sagaing Region, with 120 mm artillery. Four civilians were killed, and six others were injured in the attack. The victims included residents from Kyaisa and Thantawgyi villages.
