The Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration launched the 3rd course of public financial management training for township people’s administration teams in Sagaing Division on December 3, at 1:00 p.m. The one-day training covered topics such as public finance, revenue generation, and finance management. Attending members exchanged views with the officials and the training was finished at 3:00 p.m.
The 1st and 2nd courses of public financial management training were conducted for township people’s administration teams in Sagaing and Magway on November 30 and December 2, respectively.
2. Karen National Union (KNU) affirms ongoing camp capture battles in Mone Township
The Karen National Union (KNU) headquarters affirmed that its armed wing, the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), and allied forces initiated an offensive against the military junta’s Light Infantry Battalion 599 (LIB 599) located in Mone Township and the Mone Myoma Police Station within Nyaunglebin District, which falls under its 3rd Brigade territory, starting on December 2.
Although reports suggested that the KNU had successfully captured both camps, the Karen Information Center (KIC) referred to KNU Spokesperson Padoh Saw Kalel Say, stating that the KNU could not confirm this as they had not yet received information from the Nyaunglebin District side.
According to local residents, fierce fighting took place on the night of December 2, and the revolutionary forces captured the LIB 599 base, but they could not yet confirm whether Mone Myoma Police Station was captured or not.
The KNU’s 3rd Brigade (Nyaunglebin District) has been one of the area most frequently targeted by the military junta through aerial and artillery attacks. In November, the military resumed unprovoked indiscriminate aerial attacks on residential villages in the region. At this time, the revolutionary allied forces initiated camp capture battles like this in Mone Township.
In June of this year, the KNLA-allied forces conducted offensives and took control of military junta outposts in the Natthankwin area within Kyaukkyi Township. Presently, the KNLA-allied forces have launched offensives against military junta outposts in Kawkareik Township.
3. Six civilians injured, schools and houses destroyed in aerial and artillery attacks by the military on villages in Nyaunglebin District
The Karen National Union (KNU) headquarters released that the terrorist military attacked villages in Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Division, through aerial and artillery shelling, causing injuries to six civilians and destroying schools and houses.
On December 2, at 8:00 a.m., a 14-year-old boy from Seik Phu Khin village in Mone Township, Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Division, sustained injuries from a mine planted by the military. Additionally, around 1:00 p.m., the terrorist military carried out an aerial bombing of Ban Laung village, resulting in the destruction of a village school and injuries to a resident. At 7:00 p.m., Infantry Battalion 307 indiscriminately fired 120-mm artillery, causing a shell to explode inside Ywar Thit Village within Phyu Township, leading to the injuries of two residents and the destruction of one house.
Likewise, on November 30, in Mone Township, the terrorist military conducted two airstrikes on Yay Twin Kone Village at 3:40 p.m., resulting in the destruction of two houses. Additionally, at 4:00 p.m., two residents of Let Pan Tan Village were injured when an artillery shell fired by Light Infantry Battalion 599 exploded in the village.
4. Due to the aerial bombardment by the military with 500 pound bombs in Lashio Township, 2 women were killed and 9 houses were damaged
TNLA News and Information announced on December 3 that 2 women were killed and 9 houses were damaged due to the aerial bombardment by the terrorist military with 4 500-pound bombs on villages in Lashio Township of Ta’ang State Brigade 6.
It is said that the terrorist military dropped four 500-pound bombs on Lontway Village, Pan Thapyay Circuit, Lashio Township, at around 9:00 p.m. on December 2. Since the attack targeted civilians, 2 local women from Lontway Village were killed and one was injured, and 9 houses were hit by bombs and damaged, according to the statement.
On December 1, at 9:30 p.m., the terrorist military council used a jet fighter to attack Naung Sant Ward in Namhkam Township with Cluster Bombs, killing one person, injuring five others, and damaging more than 12 houses.
During Operation 1027, which is being carried out by the 3 Brotherhood Alliances, the terrorist military council forces have fired 500 pound bombs and weapons such as Cluster Bombs on civilians and blatantly committed war crimes, according to TNLA News and Information.
5. KIA and KPDF captured the military council’s camp in Shwegu Township within 40 minutes
On December 3, the KIA and KPDF announced that they had attacked and captured a terrorist military council’s camp near Shwe Nyein Chat Village in Shwe Ku Township, Kachin State, within 40 minutes and seized 8 guns and ammunition.
On December 1, the KPDF released the information regarding the capture of a military council’s camp where the IB-10 under Division-88 was stationed by the Battalion-5 of KIA Brigade 8, Myohla K-PDF, and Hopin KPDF.
“The military council’s camp was attacked at 6:57 a.m. and was finally captured at 7:36 a.m. At 8:50 a.m., four of the military council’s jet fighters came to help firing, but the ground forces fled. The battle lasted only half an hour. 3 people’s comrades from the side of the K-PDF battalion were injured. It’s not critical,” said Myohla K-PDF.
The camp was burned down and a large amount of food, including 8 guns and ammunition, was confiscated. This terrorist military council troops is headed by Major Ko Ko Naing of IB-10 and has been deployed with about 30 forces for around a year. The camp was reportedly captured due to a disturbance in the Gakhin Bunt District of KIA Battalion 5.
In Shwegu Township, including this camp, 3 military council camps have been seized. The first camp capture battle was Pankunyan Camp, the base of the LIB-387, which was captured after 32 days of attack. It is reported that the Kyaukgyi village camp, where IB-77 was stationed, was also attacked and captured. K-PDF informed that there are still plans to occupy the remaining military council’s camps.
6. Taungoo Air Defense Base was attacked with 2 dropped bombs
The Iron Tiger Battalion (Northern Thandaung Special Region) announced on December 1 that the military council’s Air Defense Base based in Taungoo, Bago Region, was attacked with 2 dropped bombs by using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).
At around 11:00 a.m. on December 1, the Iron Tiger Battalion (Northern Thandaung Special Region) of KNU Brigade 2, conducted this special operation in collaboration with Lethal Prop, a Shar Htoo Waw Drone Team.
According to the released video footage, two bombs were dropped at the Aircraft Hanger in the Taungoo Air Defense Base, and one of the bombs fell on the road near the Aircraft Hanger.
In Taungoo Township, the revolutionary forces are attacking from the defensive to the offensive, and on November 24, the Special Urban Guerrilla Force attacked Khapaung Hall, east of Mingyi Nyo Road and north of Maida Field, where the military council troops were stationed.
7. Private internet network provided for public administration offices in Thantlang Township
Team ZNET announced on December 2 that the Department of Technological Support – DOTS under the Public Administration of Thantlang Township, Chin State, has been able to provide Internet access to various public administration institutions.
The ZNET, the Department of Technological Support – DOTS under the Public Administration of Thantlang Township, stated that it took a year and 4 months to implement the new Internet communication system. It also announced that it is working to achieve 50 percent Internet coverage in Thantlang Township in 2024. Thantlang was the first town to be burned down by the terrorist military during the Spring Revolution, and local residents in the township have been without internet for more than 2 years.
