1. Interim Local Administrative Central Committee (ILACC) holds a meeting with the Committee Representing Sagaing Region Hluttaw (CRSH)
The Meeting No. 6/2023 between the National Unity Government’s Interim Local Administrative Central Committee (ILACC) and the Committee Representing Sagaing Region Hluttaw (CRSH) was held on July 16 and Defence Minister U Yee Mon, the Vice-Chairman 2 of the ILACC, gave an opening address.
The members of the CRSH brought up topics related to policy, fiscal, defence, and ground situations, which were then explained by each relevant ministry.
The meeting was concluded with an address by Federal Union Affairs Minister Dr. Lian Hmung Sakhong, a committee member of the ILACC.
The Interim Local Administrative Central Committee members—union ministers, deputy ministers, permanent secretaries, and officials of the ministries of the National Unity Government—and the representatives of the Committee Representing Sagaing Region Hluttaw attended the meeting.
2. NUG ministers met with the Myanmar diaspora in Texas, the United States
Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, Union Minister U Htin Linn Aung and Deputy Minister U Aung Kyaw Moe attended a community meeting in Texas, United States, on July 16.
At the meeting, the ministers of the National Unity Government addressed matters related to the Spring Revolution.
The NUG ministers who are visiting the United States on behalf of the National Unity Government are meeting with U.S. government officials as well as attending community meetings with the Myanmar diaspora and revolutionary support forces there.
3. NUG’s Union Minister Prof. Win Myat Aye claims that the Ministry of Social Welfare Relief and Resettlement, which is currently under junta control, is no longer a ministry that is appropriate for its name
Prof. Win Myat Aye, Union Minister of the National Unity Government’s Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, spoke at the community meeting with Myanmar people in San Francisco, United States, on July 16 about the Ministry of Social Welfare Relief and Resettlement, which is currently under junta control: “The Ministry of Social Welfare Relief and Resettlement of the previous government is now controlled by the military council, so it can no longer be called by that name. The Ministry of Social Welfare Relief and Resettlement is no longer what the Ministry of Social Welfare Relief and Resettlement was before. It no longer has humanitarian sympathy for the people, and there is no desire to rescue them. Far from rehabilitation, they are destroying everything, so it is a ministry that is not appropriate for its name.”
The National Unity Government reorganised the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management (MOHADM) as soon as it was formed as a new government.
Within two years of the establishment of the National Unity Government, the MOHADM provided humanitarian assistance worth 6.6 billion kyats to the people who were suffering due to the terrorist military council. The ministry also provides monthly food assistance for an average of 200,000 IDPs.
4. To commemorate Human Rights Minister U Aung Myo Min’s birthday, a donation of 15 lakh kyats was made to victims of fire in Sagaing Township
To commemorate Human Rights Minister U Aung Myo Min’s birthday, a donation of 15 lakh kyats was made to people who are suffering due to the arson attacks of the military junta in Sagaing Township, according to the Sagaing information groups.
Donations of meals with meat dishes as well as money were made to the IDP camps and revolutionary resistance forces to commemorate the 57th birthday of U Aung Myo Min, Union Minister of the National Unity Government’s Ministry of Human Rights, which falls on July 17.
5. The actions of Thai caretaker government Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai to Myanmar not only disregards the people of Myanmar’s Spring Revolution but is also an attempt to create a political divide
On July 17, the General Strike Collaboration Committee (GCSS) issued a statement regarding the recent visit of Thai caretaker government Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai to Myanmar, arranged by the brutal military junta.
The GCSS stated that the Myanmar Spring Revolution is not person-centred but built on principles in accordance with the Federal Democracy Charter and that the Foreign Minister of Thailand’s caretaker government is “creating chaos in Myanmar’s politics.”
Moreover, the GCSS noted that the attempt of the Thai Foreign Minister, who promotes personalistic political culture, to push Myanmar’s issue within ASEAN “manifests ignorance and insult towards the Spring Revolution of Myanmar people—who are sacrificing so much and fighting for their political principles, not a person—is an act of politically conspiring disunity.”
The statement asserted that the efforts of the ASEAN member states as well as the international community, if they are to help resolve Myanmar’s issue, must be in line with the will of the people of Myanmar, who are waging the Spring Revolution, and made a strong recommendation that they do not engage in any conspiracy with their own vision that would cause greater chaos unnecessarily.
6. Pre-celebrations of Martyrs’ Day and recruitments of MFDMC support members were held in South Korea
Demonstrations against the military dictatorship in Myanmar, pre-celebrations of the 76th Martyrs’ Day, and recruitments of Myanmar Federal Democratic Mission Coalition (MFDMC) support members were held in Incheon City (Bupyeong Circle) and Seosan City, South Korea.
The MFDMC said that during the demonstrations, the members of the MFDMC led and exhorted everyone to join forces and fight until the fall of the military dictatorship and to show unrelenting enthusiasm despite the revolution’s duration of more than two years.
After that, they mobilised new monthly support members, saluted the martyr leaders of all ethnicities who had given their lives fighting for the end of the military dictatorship for successive generations while lowering the flags to half-mast, and recited the revolutionary poems of the revolutionary poets.
