1. SOF Honors Fallen Commander and Soldiers on First Anniversary of Hero Saya Kyaung’s Death
On April 25, the Special Operations Force (SOF) under the Southern Command of the People’s Defense Force (PDF), part of the National Unity Government (NUG), held a solemn ceremony commemorating the first anniversary of the death of Hero Saya Kyaung, the commander of Combat Column 1, and paying tribute to all fallen comrades.
The ceremony included the lowering of the resistance flag to half-mast, recitation of pledges of loyalty, and the sharing of records detailing the heroic acts of each fallen fighter. The event served both as a remembrance and a celebration of their courage and sacrifice.
Commander Hero Saya Kyaung was not only the leader of SOF Combat Column 1 but also a key operations commander. From the start of the Spring Revolution, he led several critical missions including urban campaigns such as Operation Pyin Hlwar Aung, Operation Nan Htaik Aung, and assaults to seize rural bases.
In recognition of his bravery, he was awarded the unit’s Distinguished Combat Medal and posthumously honored by the Ministry of Defense with a Certificate of Tribute.
On April 25, 2024, Commander Saya Kyaung, alongside comrades Hero Kala Gyi, Hero Ko Hein, and Hero Mighty, died in a fierce battle while attacking a junta hilltop base near Hpa-pun Township, Kayin State. Their bodies were recovered, and religious rites and ceremonial honors were conducted.
During the four years of the Spring Revolution, 20 SOF members, including Hero Saya Kyaung, have given their lives. All were posthumously awarded the Martyrs’ Medal and recognized as national heroes by the SOF.

2. Resistance Forces Kill at Least Nine, Including Column Commander, in Salin Township Ambush
A two-day ambush by resistance forces on a Myanmar military convoy in Salin Township, Magway Region, has left at least nine junta soldiers dead—including a column commander—and over ten others injured, according to a statement released by the Burma Army on April 26.
The attack targeted a convoy of over 200 troops, accompanied by two armored vehicles, advancing from Wan Pyi to Auk Hline village. The assault took place on April 24 and 25, carried out by a coalition of resistance forces blocking their advance into a rebel-held area.
Fighting reportedly broke out on April 24 and lasted two hours, with resistance forces using 40mm grenades and heavy weapons. As a result, nine soldiers, including a high-ranking commander, were killed. Additionally, one of the armored vehicles fell into an irrigation canal near Wan Pyi village.
As junta forces attempted to retrieve the vehicle, resistance troops launched a second attack, resulting in further casualties. The military convoy eventually retreated on the morning of April 25.
One resistance fighter was injured by a 40mm grenade but is expected to recover.
The operation involved coordinated efforts by multiple units, including Battalion 808, Minbu District Battalions 1 and 5, Salin PDF, Daung Saing LPDF, Daung Nyinang Urban Guerrilla Unit, and Minbu District’s Special Task Force.
The Burma Army warned local civilians to follow defense force guidelines, such as preparing bomb shelters, due to the increased risk of airstrikes and heavy shelling in contested areas.
3. Simultaneous Drone Strikes Hit Junta Outposts in Wetlet Town
In Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, resistance forces launched coordinated drone attacks on April 25 targeting multiple junta facilities—including the police station, township administrative office, fire station, and a nearby military outpost.
The People’s Servant Revolution – Wetlet reported that the strikes were conducted early in the morning using drones, and that junta forces, including Pyusawhti militia and local officials, sustained injuries. However, further details on casualties are still being verified.
Despite return fire from junta troops using small arms, no injuries were reported among the resistance forces.
The operation was carried out through a joint effort involving People’s Servant Revolution, Wetlet PDF, Hla Taw Battle Zone PDF, N Sai Naw Drone Unit, Phoenix Winds Drone Unit, Sn-Warazein PDF, and R Gyi Drone Unit.
4. Resistance Forces Strike Defense Factory No. 13 in Sinbaungwe with 107mm Rockets
On the night of April 25, resistance forces launched a rocket attack on Myanmar military’s Defense Factory No. 13, located in Sinbaungwe Township, Magway Region. The attack, conducted around midnight, involved ten 107mm short-range rockets and was reportedly successful in hitting key infrastructure within the compound.
Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM), which led the assault, said preliminary assessments show significant damage, though further verification is ongoing.
Factory No. 13 is a critical facility producing everything from small-caliber ammunition to aircraft bombs and explosive detonators. Its destruction could disrupt operations at other dependent facilities such as Factories 3, 5, 7, 12, 17, 21, and 25.
The attack was coordinated by BWM, along with Shadow – Anya, No More Dictatorship (NMD), Eagle Brigade, Upper Minhla PDF, and the People’s Independence Army (PIO/PIA).
Resistance forces emphasized that targeting key military production sites is essential for weakening the junta and advancing the Spring Revolution.

5. Police Outpost in Kamma Township Abandoned After Surprise Attack
A junta police outpost in Yenaungtha village, Kamma Township, Magway Region, was abandoned after resistance forces launched a surprise attack on April 25, causing the station commander and all officers to flee with their weapons.
The assault, which began at around 5 a.m., was carried out by Units 1 and 2 of PDF Battalion 4 under Thayet District’s Defense Command. Initial gunfire from the junta side was minimal, and when they indicated their intention to surrender, PDF forces briefly paused fire—only to discover the junta troops had escaped.
Upon entering the outpost, resistance forces captured a police sergeant and seized a G3 rifle, three magazines, over 1,000 rounds of various ammunition, two vehicles, four motorbikes, and additional military supplies. The station was then set ablaze.
PDF sources confirmed that none of their fighters were injured in the operation.
