At the National Unity Government’s 22/2024 government assembly held on August 6, Prime Minister Mahn Win Khaing Than stated that the people can only be relieved of their suffering when the terrorist military regime comes to an end quickly.

“The people can only be relieved of their suffering when the terrorist military regime comes to an end quickly. Along with the impact of the war, the people are also suffering from the effects of inflation, living without both physical and mental security. The issue of fuel shortages as a consequence of inflation has significantly impacted the people’s livelihood. Therefore, as revolutionary forces, while we intensify the military efforts, we must also continue our political discussions and collective actions to reach our destination more swiftly,” said the Prime Minister.

Additionally, he mentioned that after over three years of the Spring Revolution, the end is in sight, and the focus is now on how to conclude the revolution victoriously and harmoniously.

Doctors from the 100-bed hospital in Lashio, northern Shan State, have denied claims that the Kokang MNDAA forces attacked the hospital.

The military council had spread propaganda claiming that the Kokang MNDAA forces attacked the hospital and killed patients. However, the medical staff clarified that no such incident occurred.

The MNDAA released a statement saying they rescued Deputy Police Chief Hla Myo, who was left wounded during the battle for Lashio.

3. CDM Soldiers Urge Military Commanders to Collaborate with NUG and EROs

Groups of CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) soldiers have urged military region commanders, division commanders, and strategic commanders under the military council to collaborate with the National Unity Government (NUG) and Ethnic Revolutionary Organizations (EROs).

The statement came amid growing dissatisfaction within the military and increasing military defeats, driven by the extreme self-serving actions, power-madness, and oppression by military leader Min Aung Hlaing.

The announcement highlighted that under the tyrannical rule of Min Aung Hlaing, not a single high-ranking officer can guarantee the safety of their life, position, wealth, or family’s future. Various groups, including the wives of public soldiers, public goalkeepers, and public targets, stated this.

The announcement emphasized the emergence of the people’s armed resistance due to Min Aung Hlaing’s tyrannical and oppressive rule, leading to the deaths and detentions of thousands of military personnel, including region commanders, division commanders, and strategic commanders. The statement urged the military council commanders to collaborate with the NUG and EROs to resolve the current dire situations promptly.

The announcement also called for the military commanders to detain and remove Min Aung Hlaing and other top military leaders, respect civil governance in accordance with democratic standards, and transform the military into a federal army that respects the interests and existence of all ethnic groups.
