1. In the first 6 months of 2024, Launglone PaKaFa was able to carry out 24 operations and was able to clear up to 102 military council soldiers
In the first half of 2024, from January to June, the Launglone Township People’s Defense Force (PDF) has been able to carry out 24 operations, according to the report of Launglone PaKaFa’s half-year (6) months of operations.
Among these operations, 4 were carried out in Dawei Township and Thayetchaung Township; 20 in Launglone Township; 5 as urban operations, 5 as blockade operations, 2 as naval operations, and 12 offensives against enemy camps.
It is reported that 17 military council soldiers were killed in the joint operations on the side of Thayetchaung Township; 16 in the operations in Dawei Township, and 69 in the operation in Launglone Township; and at least 58 military council soldiers were injured. Launglone PaKaFa honorably expressed that one company commander and one comrade of the Launglone People’s Defense Force sacrificed their lives for the country.
2. Battles broke out in Kyaukme, Mogok, and Mongmit towns, seizing more than 70 weapons and ammunition, and capturing 20 prisoners of war
Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) announced that a fierce battle broke out between the Ta’ang Army TNLA and the military council troops in Kyaukme town of the Ta’ang State Brigade 2 area, seizing 37 weapons and military equipment from the 11th Division and LIB-501 battalions.
Seized weapons included 9 MA1 rifles, 2 MA light machine guns, 15 MA3 carbines, 6 MA11 rifles, 1 M22 rifle, 1 RPG gun, 1 45mm launcher, 1 60mm launcher, 1 Pistol, walkie-talkies, ammunition and military equipment. In addition, 20 prisoners of war were captured and 23 weapons and ammunition were seized when the Ta’ang Army TNLA chased the military council soldiers who had escaped from Phyu Yaung Kone in the west of Mogok town in the Brigade 2 area.
It is also reported that a battle broke out with the LIB-348 of the Military Council in Mongmit town in the area under the control of the TNLA Brigade 3, and they were able to capture a remote outpost of the Military Council.
Similarly, in Kyaukme Township, the military council’s LIB-502 fired about 30 howitzers toward the Man Aung Monastery between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. An encounter also broke out near Ye Phyu Monastery in Nawnghkio Township because the military council troops launched an offensive towards the places of the TNLA troops.
After that, the Ta’ang Army TNLA chased and cleared the remaining military council camps in Mongmit Town of the Brigade 3 area, seizing 8 guns, 1 RPG, 1 machine gun, 1 60 mm short barrel gun, 1 60 mm long barrel gun, and 1 81 mm launcher, a total of 13 guns from the security hill of the military council.
3. The Signal Battalion, No. (7005) Armored Combat Battalion, No. (242) Military Weapons Company, Lashio Station, and the Tatmadaw Golf Course in Lashio City were captured
Alliance forces including Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) and Bamar People’s Liberation Army (BPLA) were able to completely defeat the enemy from Lashio City-based Signal Battalion, No. (7005) Armored Combat Battalion, No. (242) Military Weapons Company and the Tatmadaw Golf Course on July 28 and 29, the BPLA reported.
The MNDAA also announced that the Lashio Railway Station was also captured by the MNDAA troops.
The security forces from the Special Administrative Region 1 Police Station of the MNDAA are also taking responsibility for public security. The allied security forces have increased patrols in Lashio city and it is said that severe action will be taken if any looting and theft behavior is found again. If anyone encounters difficulties such as food shortages, medical supplies, etc., he can ask for help from the MNDAA forces, and the allied forces will also help solve the problem.
4. In Hlaingthaya Township, a military council convoy was bombed
God’s Hand Forces (GHF) announced that the military council patrol convoy was bombed between the Ah Sint Myint bus stop and the Bogyoke bus stop in Hlaingthaya Township, Yangon Region.
It is said that on July 29, at around 10:30 a.m., the patrol convoy was bombed as the 4th military operation of “M 043 Operation”. The casualties of the military council soldiers are not known yet, but the revolutionary comrades were able to retreat without harm.
The public is also appealed to stay away from the military council and its related pillars, places, departments, outposts, and patrol convoys as the military operations will be carried out with the objectives of showing ‘no rule by the military council’, and demolishing the military council pillars in urban areas.
5. In Kyaikto Township, 9 civilians were killed and 8 were injured due to heavy weapons fired by the military council
The Karen National Union (KNU) announced that 9 civilians were killed and 8 were injured within two days due to the military council troops firing heavy weapons into villages in Kyaikto Township, Doothahtu (Thaton) District of the KNU administrative area.
On July 22, at 1:00 p.m., the military council fired heavy weapons into villages in Thein Za Yat, Kyaikto Township, 10 times, killing 2 residents, including a pregnant woman living in 7th Street, Ywar Lay Ward, and a person was injured. At about 12:30 p.m. that day, the revolutionary alliance forces attacked the police station in Thein Za Yat, so the military council’s No. 310 Artillery Battalion retaliated by targeting the villages where the people lived, according to KNU.
In addition, on July 23, there was a skirmish with the military council troops who were marching near Kyaukt Tan Lay Village in Kyaikto Township at around 9:00 a.m. During the battle, the No. 602 Missile Battalion of the military council fired 4 howitzers into Pyinkatoegone Village, according to KNU. Due to the attack, 7 laborers who came to the town to escape the war were killed and 7 people, including 2 women, were injured.
6. The military council opened fire on 2 villages in Myaing Township with Mi-35 without any fighting, injuring a local woman
According to locals, a woman over 60 years of age was injured because the military council opened fire on 2 villages in Myaing Township, Magway Division, with a Mi-35 helicopter without any fighting.
On July 29, at 11:00 a.m., the military council opened fire on Kangyi Village, Myaing Township, with a Mi-35 helicopter and a woman over 60 years old got injured in the arm. There was no fighting on the ground, and 2 houses in the village were fired upon with machine guns, damaging these 2 houses and an oil tanker.
In addition, at around 1:00 p.m., the military council opened fire again on Konpalu Village with a Mi-35 helicopter. The damages are still not known yet.
