Myanmar Spring Revolution Morning Fresh News for 2023 December 3

1. The Union Prime Minister said that the demand for electricity will increase as the areas occupied and controlled by the revolutionary forces expand 

In a meeting held on December 2 between the Union Prime Minister and officials from the Ministry of Electricity and Energy and CDM staff, the Prime Minister said, “The demand for electricity will increase as the areas that the revolutionary forces can occupy and control expand.”

“Although the terrorist military council has weakened, there are still dangerous resources that can cause harm to people. It is satisfactory to witness the diligent efforts of our National Unity Government, specifically the relevant ministries, in severing ties with these resources. Furthermore, I am particularly grateful, on behalf of the populace, to learn that the Ministry of Electricity and Energy is tirelessly striving to generate revenue from the regions under their jurisdiction during the interim period. As the territories controlled by the revolutionary forces expand, the demand for electricity will naturally surge. Undoubtedly, energy stands as a fundamental necessity for our nation,” the Prime Minister said.

The National Unity Government’s Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann, Union Minister of Electricity and Energy U Soe Thura Tun, permanent secretaries and officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, permanent secretaries and officials from the Ministry of Electricity and Energy and CDM staff attended the meeting.

2. Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe said that CDM is the main pillar of the spring revolution

Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe stated the following during a question session about CDMs in December.

“Now, we see that the role of CDMs is getting bigger when it comes to capturing cities. This makes me deeply appreciative and respectful of the role played by CDMs. I would like to say that CDMs serve as the fundamental pillars of the ongoing Spring Revolution.,” the Union Minister said.

3. The military junta is committing crimes against civilians with modern slavery methods

Deputy Minister of Human Rights U Aung Kyaw Moe said on the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery on December 2.

“The SLORC and SPDC military groups that seized power in Myanmar have breached the principles outlined in the UN Charters and engaged in activities such as forced labor, abducting people for porterage, the recruitment of child soldiers, coercion to operate military machinery, and the recruitment of new soldiers. These actions represent modern manifestations of slavery,” the Deputy Minister said.

The Deputy Minister of Human Rights added that the military junta is currently committing the act of forcing civilians to serve as porters against their will, and the entire public needs to be cautious. Every year, December 2 is celebrated as the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery.

4. The Arakan Army continues to evacuate the residents of Pauktaw

On December 2, the Arakan Army (AA) informed that the residents of Pauktaw Town in Rakhine State are being evacuated.

“Despite the joint blockade attack by the Military Council’s Army, Navy Force, and Air Force, the Arakan Army continues to evacuate the remaining residents of Pauktaw who have been held captive as human shields,” it stated.

On December 1, at around 11:00 a.m., one jet aircraft of the Military Council came to Pauktaw, Rakhine State, twice, dropped 4 bombs and fired continuously.

At around 2:05 p.m., when the second attack took place, the MiG-35 attack fighter and the warships of the Military Council traveling near the Pauktaw River also fired continuously with heavy weapons.

5. The MNDAA was able to hunt down the remnants of the military council from the ground and defeat almost 100 enemies

The MNDAA hunted down the remnants of the military council from the Konkyan battle, and defeated nearly 100 enemies. On December 2, MNDAA confirmed the news of the operation.

“On November 28, the MNDAA captured the hill station. Some of military council’s members of IB-125 and SaKaKha (12, 16) under the Northeastern Command, which was permanently stationed in the Konkyan, surrendered. Some of the remaining members, including the commander of SaKaKha 16, fled. We chased down the fleeing troops and killed nearly 100 enemies,” it stated.

On November 29, due to MNDAA’s chase, more than 280 remaining members of the military council gathered and hid at the bottom of the hill between the villages of Wa Kyi Kyaing and Su Kyar Kyaing, the Shauk Kai group in the Xishan region. At around 11:10 a.m. on November 30, the MNDAA continued to attack those hiding military council’s soldiers.

In the morning of December 1, as the MNDAA was clearing the area, they discovered the bodies of 20 military council’s soldiers. Later that evening, they pursued the remaining soldiers and triumphed over more than 70 enemies, apprehending 4 prisoners of war. Furthermore, they confiscated a cache of weapons and ammunition, which included illicit narcotics such as ecstasy pills.

6. In Namhkam Town, the military council bombarded with a cluster bomb, killing 1 resident, injuring 5, and damaging more than 12 houses

At 9:30 p.m., December 1, in Namhkam Township, Brigade (1) Military Region, Ta’ang State, the Military Council used a jet plane to drop Cluster Bombs in Naung Sant Ward of Namhkam City. As a result of the bombing, 1 resident was killed and 5 were injured, and more than 12 houses were damaged, TNLA confirmed.

To avoid the danger of bombings, U Ba Oo, a 30-year-old resident of Konekala Ward, sheltered in the monastery of Naung Sant Ward. Unfortunately, the bombs fell on the monastery, and he died with his body cut off.

In addition, 5 local residents were injured by bullets, 3 of whom were transported to Shweli City in China for medical treatment due to the severity of their injuries, and the remaining 2 were receiving medical treatment in Namhkam City and Muse City. About 12 houses, including the monastery, were damaged, and more than 30 houses were hit by bombs.

During the 1027 operation, more than 60 civilians were killed in Ta’ang State due to heavy weapons and aerial attacks by the Military Council. More than 100 people were injured and nearly 300 houses were damaged.

During the drinking ceremony, the revolutionary alliance forces such as Dona Column, MSRF, ABSDF Battalion 1, YGF, YAF, YDF, and MSRO took oaths and drank oath water.

The MSRF, the Mon State Revolution Force, also reported that it will continue to fight until the revolution succeeds in cooperation with allied forces.
