On September 16, Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann of the National Unity Government, said this in his message to the people.
“One of our strengths in this revolution is our ability to make good use of technological advances. Technology can benefit the revolution in ways that we could not think of in previous revolutions. Another thing is that we can learn from the needs of successive revolutions that have passed, and we are well aware of the barbaric old methods of the terrorist military council. Therefore, being able to predict and prepare in advance for the potential enemy’s tactics is a factor that will lead to the quick victory. When we are at an advantage in this situation and time, what is important is to be able to advance towards the goal in unity,” the Union Prime Minister said.
Currently, the members of the terrorist military council are suffering from drone attacks by the revolutionary forces.
2. Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun said that the Myanmar terrorist military has killed more than 1,000 people within nine months since the Security Council’s resolution
Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun said this in the “Our Ambassador, Our Voice” Spring Revolution Talk.
“The Security Council adopted a resolution on December 21, 2022. At that time, according to AAPP’s collected data, the death toll of civilians from the terrorist military had already exceeded 2,600. At present, the number has increased to over 4,000. Looking back, over 1,000 people have been killed in 9 months since the resolution. People’s lives are very valuable. We have always said that protecting human life is the responsibility of its respective country, and when a country fails to fulfill this obligation, it becomes the responsibility of the international community to take action,” Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun said.
On December 21, 2022, the United Nations Security Council, which includes 15 member countries, adopted a resolution on the Myanmar issue.
The decision includes: an immediate end to all forms of violence; an immediate release of all arbitrarily detained prisoners, including President U Win Myint and State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi; and full, safe, and unhindered humanitarian access.
3. Union Minister for Labor U Nai Suwunna, chairperson of the Mon State Federal Council, urged people not to be complacent about being privileged while going through the revolutionary period
At the 28th regular meeting of the MSFC held on September 16, Union Minister for Labor U Nai Suwunna, chairperson of the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC), said in the opening speech that we should not be complacent about being privileged while we are going through a period of revolution.
“It is especially necessary for us not to be complacent about being privileged when we are going through the revolutionary period. As for the MSFC that we have formed, in accordance with the objectives of the Mon people’s right to create our own destiny, if we want freedom like other ethnic groups, we must embark on a long journey ourselves. We can achieve successful results only if we can make a difficult revolution like other brother ethnic groups. If we hesitate, we will be left behind. I would like to urge everyone to follow the teachings of our fallen great leaders and work hard together so that we don’t fall apart,” he said.
Currently, there are some organizations that have a ceasefire agreement with the military council in Mon State.
4. A demonstration for the continued recognition of Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, was held at No. 10 Downing Street, the UK Parliament and the UK Prime Minister’s Office in London
On September 16, Myanmar forces in Britain staged a demonstration at the UK Parliament and UK Prime Minister’s Office at No. 10 Downing Street in London, demanding the continued recognition of Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun.
U Maung Maung Aung and Dr. Thet Ko Ko, who are representatives of the National Unity Government Office in the United Kingdom, attended the demonstration.
Similarly, internationally, there are protests demanding that Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun remain as the UN Ambassador to Myanmar.
5. Central Work Committee of the National League for Democracy and regional/state executives hold a coordination meeting
The coordination meeting between the Central Work Committee of the National League for Democracy and regional/state executives (36/2023) was held on September 16 via Zoom.

6. Military council bombarded the village of Khayan Sat Kone in Indaw Township with a jet fighter, killing a monk and a kappiya
On September 16, the Indaw Revolution – IR Team informed the news.
“On September 15, at 8:00 p.m., the military council bombed the village of Khayan Sat Kone in Indaw Township, Upper Sagaing Division, without a fight. As a result, a monk and a kappiya were killed, and a zayat and the main building were destroyed,” it stated.
After aerial bombardment, the Indaw military council forces fired again with heavy weapons, damaging a civilian’s house and motorcycles.
7. Over 15,000 local residents are fleeing due to the invasion of the military council troops come to reinforce the Takhon Taing Police Station in Win Ye Township
The Karen National Union – KNU (Headquarters) released the news on September 16 that over 15,000 local residents are fleeing due to the invasion of the military council troops coming to reinforce t the Takhon Taing Police Station in Win Ye Township.
On September 14, 2023, at about 8:00 a.m., there were clashes between the Karen National Liberation Army (K.N.L.A) Battalion-16 and joint revolutionary forces and the enemy junta troops of about 100-strong from IB-2, and Artillery Battalion-318 (Ahbit Artillery Unit) under Kyaikto Division-44, and BGF Battalion-1021, and BGF Cantonment-3 under Southeastern Regional Military Command who came to reinforce the Takhon Taing Police Station in Win Ye Township, Dooplaya District in the Karen National Union – KNU Kawthoolei Administrative Area Brigade-6.
During the clash, a Mi-35P Attack Helicopter from Air Force in Mawlamyine, headquarters of the Southeastern Regional Military Command, left the air force at 9:12 a.m., arrived around the area at 9:40 a.m., and conducted airstrikes.
Due to the airstrikes, one comrade from the joint revolutionary forces honorably sacrificed his life in fighting for federal democracy, and the village school and public houses were hit and damaged.
There was further damage to public houses as the coup military council troops launched airstrikes and fired 122-mm heavy artillery from the Ahbit Artillery Unit.
After that, the military tension increased due to the further reinforcement of about 100 troops from BGF Cantonment-3 under the command of the Southeastern Regional Military Command on September 15, 2023.
According to the statistics as of September 14, 2023, over 15,000 local residents are fleeing the war.
The local residents who are currently fleeing the war are facing a lot of difficulties due to the continuous rains and strong flows of mountain water, as there are not enough shelters for evacuation and there are no special camps to escape the war.
8. Intense fighting broke out in eastern and western Mogok as part of Moe Lone Hmine Operation

The Ta’ang National Liberation Army – TNLA and the military council forces are fighting fiercely every day, and from July 23 to September, a total of 40 battles took place.
9. 4 junta soldiers were killed and 4 weapons were seized in an attack on the junta troops coming from the Ka Thit Eain gate west of the entrance to Depayin Town
On September 16, The White D.P.Y (PaKaFa) informed that 4 junta soldiers were killed and 4 weapons were seized in an attack on the junta troops coming from the Ka Thit Eain Gate west of the entrance of Depayin Town.
“On September 14, we ambushed 5 soldiers of the military council coming from the Ka Thit Eain Gate west of the entrance to Depayin to patrol the Sein Pan Pin Bridge at the entrance of the town at 12:40 p.m.,” it stated.
It is said that four members of the military council died on the spot, and one of them jumped into the creek and fled.
In the operation, one MA 1 rifle, one G3 gun, one carbine rifle, one M79 40mm grenade launcher, and 4 40mm grenades were seized.
The operation was cooperatively conducted by The White Depeyin PaKaFa, Yan Gyi Aung Depeyin People Defence Force, Nyaung-U District Battalion 5, Bagan Ogre People Defense Force, and Federal Column-1.
