Myanmar Spring Revolution Morning Fresh News for 2023 September 4

1. The Acting President said that the government’s heavy duty is a minor one compared to the plight of the people who are fleeing their homes and fleeing for their lives

On September 3, Acting President of the National Unity Government, Duwa Lashi La, said this in his message to the people.

“Compared to the plight of the people who are fleeing after abandoning their houses at the risk of their lives, we consider that our great responsibility is only minor,” the Acting President said.

As of August 14, 2023, according to the latest figures from the United Nations, the number of internally displaced persons across Myanmar has reached over 1.9 million. Of these, more than 1.6 million people have fled their homes due to the conflict and insecurity that occurred after the February 2021 coup.

2. Minister of Defence urges the people to continue supporting the PDF comrades as they are preparing for a strategic offensive on all sides

At the opening ceremony of the Project “Htin See” held on September 3, Defence Minister U Yee Mon said this.

“As we all know, the current period is considered to be the pre-strategic offensive period. Why is the pre-stage period important? Because we are preparing for the next strategic offensive from all sides. During this preparation, we must prepare manpower, weapons, and funding. So, if we want to do the work we want to do and the strategic plans we will implement, funding is an important pillar. I would like to urge people all over the world to continue to support funds so that the PDF comrades who are fighting on the front lines with their lives can work effectively,” said the minister.

PRF – People’s Revolution Supply Family Plan, has received and used USD 10.93 million in funds during the 17-month period from December 21, 2021, to April 30, 2023.

“The US$ 9.03 million of received public support funds was used to support the battalions of the People’s Defence Force (PDF) of the Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government (NUG). With the approval of the PRF program, US$ 1.9 million was sent directly to the People’s Defense Organization (PaKaFa), the Local People’s Defense Forces (LDF) and military weapons manufacturing forces,” the Ministry of Defence announced.

3. Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe met with the Burmese Community Development Collaboration (BCDC) team from Australia for the availability of IT and electrical equipment for the NUG Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Health of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced on September 3 that Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe had a meeting with the Burmese Community Development Collaboration (BCDC) group from Australia, for the availability of IT and electrical equipment for the NUG Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education.

National Unity Government (NUG) Union Minister of Health and Education Prof. Dr. Zaw Wai Soe and NUG Australia Representative Office Dr. Tun Aung Shwe met with the CEO and founders of the Burmese Community Development Collaboration (BCDC) group in Sydney, Australia on the morning of August 31 and discussed issues related to the availability of IT and electrical equipment for the NUG Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education.

Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe explained the situation of using IT technology in the health and education sectors of the Spring Revolution.

After that, it is reported that they discussed with the BCDC team obtaining IT and electrical equipment, including computers, projectors, iPads, and power banks, which are needed for the health and education sectors.

4. Union Minister Naw Susanna Hla Hla Soe attended the Karen traditional wrist-tying ceremony held by the Myanmar generations in Thailand

On September 3, Union Minister of Women, Youth and Children Affairs, Naw Susanna Hla Hla Soe, attended the Karen traditional wrist-tying ceremony held by the Myanmar generations in Thailand and gave an opening speech.

It is known that Karen ethnic people and officials also attended the ceremony.

There are 3 types of wrist-tying ceremonies: ceremonies for health, ceremonies for showing love, and ceremonies for Wagaung unity.

5. The ASEAN People Forum declared the Myanmar military as a terrorist organization and announced to cooperate more with the NUG

NUG Minister for Human Rights, U Aung Myo Min, announced on September 3 that the ASEAN People Forum in Jakarta, Indonesia, has designated the Myanmar military as a terrorist organization and to cooperate more with the NUG.

“ASEAN Civil Society Conference/ASEAN People Forum 2023 designates the Myanmar Military as a terrorist organization,” the Minister stated.

The ASEAN Civil Society Conference (ACSC) 2023/ ASEAN People Forum (APF) was held from September 1 to 3, where representatives of civil society organizations from ten ASEAN countries, including Myanmar and Timor-Leste, attended and discussed.

The ASEAN People Forum has called on various countries to stop selling jet fuel and weapons to the terrorist military, not recognize them as legitimate governments, and not accept the election of the military council.

The terrorist military council desperately wants the recognition of ASEAN countries in the region, but it is not allowed to attend the current ASEAN summits and high-level meetings.

6. Union Minister U Soe Thura Tun said that the revolution will succeed only if the people support each other, since we have to fight the military, which spends about $2 billion annually 

Union Minister U Soe Thura Tun said this at the closing ceremony of the Satori Vihara Nway Oo Metta winner selection ceremony held on September 3.

“We have to fight the military, which spends about $2 billion annually, with about $200 million in two years, so food and other supplies are not really enough. Therefore, everyone’s participation is very important. It is true that we are fundraising through Treasury contracts and EOD by all means, but in fact, we still need more. The funds come from the people. The revolution will only be successful if the people support the people,” said the minister.

Currently, the speed of the military is being escalated, and the military council troops are suffering heavy losses in the Karenni State, Karen State, Sagaing Region, Magway Region, and Chin State.

7. “CDM Spring Lottery Support Campaign” is planning to allocate the lottery tickets to CDMers by ministry in rotation

The “CDM Spring Lottery Support Campaign” announced on social media that they are planning to give CDMers a spring lottery in rotation, according to the ministry.

“The Spring Lottery gift is sent to individual CDMers through the officials in charge of the relevant ministries. Since the re-funding depends on the number of lottery tickets donated in the campaign, the number of lottery tickets is limited, so we are planning to give CDMers on a rotating basis, according to the ministry,” it stated.

It is said that CDMers need to be connected with their respective ministries.

The lottery tickets that support CDMers are allocated by the CDM Success Committee to the ministries according to the quota, and in June & July, more than 900 to 1000 lottery tickets were supported each month.

On Week 22 of the Spring Lottery Campaign, a CDMer won a prize of 100 lakh kyats, 3 won prizes of 15 lakh kyats, 15 won prizes of 5 lakh kyats, and 67 CDMers won prizes of 1 lakh kyats.  

Anyone can participate in the “CDM Spring Lottery Support Campaign”, and the committee will return gift postcards to those who purchase ten or more lottery tickets for CDMers.

8. During August, there have been 56 innocent civilians who were unjustly arrested by the terrorist military council in the townships of Mandalay 

The Mandalay Strike Force informed that 56 innocent civilians have been unjustly arrested by the terrorist military council in the townships of Mandalay during the month of August.

“During the month of August 2023, there were (56) innocent civilians who were unjustly arrested by the terrorist military council in the townships of Mandalay, including (10) from Chanayethazan Township, (24) from Aungmyaythazan Township, (19) from Mahaaungmyay Township, and (3) from Chanmyathazi Township,” it stated.

As for house sealing, 4 houses worth more than thousands of million kyat were seized.
