1. Acting President Duwa Lashi La delivered a message that the National Unity Government is working hard to build a new Myanmar Union

On June 18, Acting President Duwa Lashi La delivered a message to the people that the National Unity Government is working hard to build a new Myanmar Union.

“The National Unity Government (NUG) is working hard to build a new Myanmar Union together with various organizations including ethnic armed groups, civil societies, political parties, anti-dictatorship public movement leaders, and Generation-Z,” he said.

Currently, the NUG is escalating the military momentum, and has announced that 2023 will be a decisive year for the revolution.

2. The Ministry of Health of the National Unity Government has successfully performed more than 1,900 major surgeries

The National Unity Government’s Ministry of Health officially released a report on June 18 stating that it has successfully performed more than 1,900 major surgeries.

According to the report, within a period of April 2021 to February 2023, medical workers working for the Ministry of Health provided medical care and treatment for 192,086 patients in Sagaing Region alone, which includes 1,964 major surgeries and 8,039 minor surgeries. 

In addition, 66 hospitals providing health services, 159 frontline clinics and more than 250 mobile clinics are operating.

Currently, township healthcare teams are distributed in 198 townships, providing health care to 60% of the country, according to the NUG Ministry of Health.

3. The Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government recognized 350 schools on the ground as “Interim People’s Basic Education Schools”

On June 18, the Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government issued a statement recognizing 350 schools on the ground as “Interim People’s Basic Education Schools”.

“The Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government is communicating and cooperating with the schools on the ground so that students who have lost the right to education in the interim period can continue their education. Among those schools, the schools that have submitted applications for recognition to the Ministry of Education have been verified and 350 schools on the ground that have pledged to follow the accreditation policy have been recognized as “Interim People’s Basic Education Schools,” it stated.

The Ministry of Education said that it will continue to announce the recognition of Online Schools and ground-based people’s education schools that are still under verification.

4. The Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) held a meeting with the township people’s administrative bodies of Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwady and Bago Divisions

On June 18, the meeting between the NUG’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and the township people’s administrative bodies of Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwady and Bago Divisions (24/2023) was held.

At the meeting, Union Minister for Labour U Nai Tun Pe @ U Nai Suwunna, a member of ILACC, gave an opening speech.

Following, officials from ministries explained the activities of relevant ministries, and then members of the township people’s administrative bodies exchanged views with relevant officials regarding policies, directions, operations, and challenges encountered on the ground.

The meeting was attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Associate Secretaries, officials from ministries, and members of the township people’s administrative bodies of Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwady and Bago Divisions.

5. It is said that there is already superior manpower in the military preparation of the Spring Revolution

At a public meeting held in Washington, DC, United States of America, on June 17, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Communication, Information, and Technology U Htin Lin Aung, said this:

“I will only mention the three M’s in military preparation. As human resources, we have PDFs. We have CDMs. We have a lot of manpower. We have the entire government apparatus to operate. There are people, including hundreds of thousands of PDFs, who will fight if we get weapons.” .

Currently, there are more than 300 People’s Defense Forces battalions, and more than 250 township People’s Defense Organizations (PaKaFa). The Ministry of Defence is in the process of providing military refresher courses and equipping weapons.

6. Union Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Daw Khin Ma Ma Myo, attended the Competition Policy: Frontiers in Competition and Regulation Conference held in Norwich, UK

Union Minister of the Ministry of Commerce of the National Unity Government, Daw Khin Ma Ma Myo, attended the Competition Policy Conference held in Norwich, UK from June 15 to 16, with the title “Frontiers in Competition and Regulation”.

Governments, experts, and Competition and Market authorities from many countries attended the conference and discussed Competition, Freedom to Operate, Measuring Innovation, Digital Platforms and other topics.

It is reported that the Union Minister discussed with the attendees the economic monopoly situation of Myanmar’s current military dictator and his allies, the business environment that should be implemented to strengthen competition in the construction of a federal union, the establishment of laws and policies that can oppose the monopoly economic system, and recommendations to ensure the effectiveness of the actions of the Competition Commission and Market Abuse Control Bodies.

It is reported that the public meeting with Union Ministers of National Unity Government and the 78th birthday prayer ceremony of unjustly arrested State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi were held in Washington DC on June 17.

Burmese families from DMV, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Buffalo attended the ceremony and asked the Union Ministers of the National Unity Government what they wanted to know. Burmese families in exile donated more than 10,000 US dollars to meet the needs of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Communication, Information and Technology for the Town Hall meeting.

Special thanks were given to all the people, ethnic brothers, and volunteers who have helped Myanmar from all sides.

8. Hundreds of people attended Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s 78th birthday and a peace demonstration held in Bupyeong, Korea

On the afternoon of June 18, the liberation and peace demonstration for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s 78th birthday was led by the Anti-Coup Committee (Korea) and attended by nearly 500 people, including Korean-based revolutionary organizations and activists.

The show demonstrated the atrocities of the terrorist Myanmar military and included poetry readings and musical entertainment.

9. In June, there were up to seven war refugees who were bitten by venomous snakes in Chatthin Ward, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Division

On June 18, Kyunhla-Kanbalu Activists Group (Kanbalu District) announced that seven people who fled the war were bitten by venomous snakes in Chatthin Ward, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Division between June 1 and 18.

“On June 17, at around 5:15 a.m., a 47-year-old woman who fled the war was bitten by a venomous snake while working on a farm in Kanbalu District’s Chatthin Ward,” it stated.

The snakebite patient was given four injections of BPI anti-snake venom, and the condition is being monitored, according to local war refugee aid groups.

10. Joint columns of KNLA Battalion 27 and PDF forces checked the vehicles along the Mawlamyine-Ye-Dawei Highway Road and found 4 junta soldiers in mufti and detained them

On June 18, the News and Information Department of Sub-Military Region 3 released the military news that joint columns of KNLA Battalion 27 and PDF forces checked the vehicles along the Mawlamyine-Ye-Dawei Highway Road and found 4 junta soldiers in mufti and detained them.

“On the morning of June 18, joint columns of KNLA Battalion 27 and PDF forces inspected the vehicles on the No. 8 Road of the Mawlamyine-Ye-Dawei Highway Road, between Ye and Thanbyuzayat in Mon State, after securing along the road. During the inspection, 4 junta soldiers in mufti were found riding on the car, disguising themselves as passengers. So, they were detained and the necessary investigations are being carried out,” it stated.

Last June 10, the KNLA Battalion 27 issued a statement stating that if the vehicles traveling on the Mawlamyine-Dawei-Myeik No. 8 Road are found to be carrying junta soldiers, weapons and ammunition to reinforce the military junta, action will be taken based on the findings.
