Myanmar Spring Revolution Morning Fresh News for 2023 April 21

1. Union Prime Minister said that they are taking discussions seriously with allied ethnic groups politically and militarily

Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann said at the National Unity Government’s cabinet meeting No. 15/2023 that they are taking discussions seriously with allied ethnic groups politically and militarily.

“This year is a very important year for the revolution. It is also a year when we, as the National Unity Government, are diligently implementing the One Year Plan. It is also a time having serious discussions with revolutionary forces and allied ethnic groups on political, military and humanitarian aspects,” he said.

In addition, the Union Prime Minister said that it is time for the people to continue the revolution after bearing the oppression and the economic downturn caused by the military council.

2. The Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration met and discussed with the district people’s administrative bodies

On April 20, the meeting between the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration, and the district people’s administrative bodies (15/2023) was held.

4. The junta troops are defeated, though they are conducting both ground and air offensives with jet fighters on the territory controlled by the joint revolutionary forces in Karen State 

On April 20, the Cobra Column confirmed that the junta troops were launching both air and ground offensives on the area controlled by the joint revolutionary forces in Karen State, but only faced defeat.

“On April 20, the terrorist military council fired continuously with heavy weapons and at least three times with one YAK130 Jet Fighter at the control area of our Joint Revolutionary Forces in an attempt to invade. Our KNU/KNLA Brigade 06, Cobra Column (1), Cobra Column (2), Black Leopard Column, Federal Wings, Golden Eagle, and Raung Ni joint forces cleared the area again,” it stated.

In the contact battle, it is said that they have seized 1 MA-1 gun, 1 MA-2 gun, 3 MA ammunition boxes, 1 MA-2 round ammunition box, 6 40-mm mortar bombs, 6 60-mm mortar bombs, 1 RPG, and 4 landmines. 

Although the enemy attacked using heavy weapons and the air force, there was no damage to the revolutionary joint forces.

5. The terrorist military launched another aerial attack on Pazigyi Village, Kanbalu Township 

Pazigyi Village in Kanbalu Township, was attacked again from the air by the terrorist junta.

On April 20, at 2:26 in the afternoon, a second airstrike was launched, the Kyunhla-Kanbalu Activists Group confirmed.

“On April 20, at 2:26 a.m., the terrorist military fired at Pazigyi village, Kanbalu Township, Kanbalu District, for the second time. The details of the ground situation are not yet known,” it stated.

On the morning of April 11, the junta troops carried out an airstrike on Pazigyi Village in Kanbalu, killing 168 people, including many children and women.

6. At the exit of Yesagyo, a car carrying junta troops was attacked by six serial mines

Yesagyo PaKaHpa confirmed that a mine attack was carried out on the car of junta troops who came out of the compound on April 20, at 7:30 a.m.

The People’s Defense Forces bombed the car carrying the junta troops with 6-serial mines near the multi-turn at the exit of the town.

At least 3 soldiers were injured when they hit the mine, and the defense forces were able to withdraw safely.

7. In Thegon Township, a surveillance constable under the terrorist military council was shot dead and one G3 gun was seized

On April 20, Thegon People Defense Force (PDF Thegon) released the military news that a surveillance constable under the terrorist military council was shot dead and one G3 gun was seized in Thegon Township, Bago Division.

It stated that Zeyar Aung, a surveillance constable under the terrorist military council, who was on duty in the Byamma Inn village group of Thegon Township, was shot dead by the Pyay District PDF Battalion 3602, Squadron 4, Thegon Township’s People Defense Force, at around 2:30 p.m. on April 19 somewhere on the edge of the forest near Kwingyi Village.

It was said that initially, they tended to arrest the constable Zeyar Aung alive to make him surrender and disclose the secret operations of the terrorist military council in Thegon Township. But he started to fight back with aG3 gun and the revolutionary forces had to take the initiative and shoot him dead.

In the shooting, the constable Zeyar Aung died on the spot, and 1 G3 gun, 2 boxes of ammunition, 119 rounds of ammunition, a phone, a motorcycle, a handcuff, and a cross bag were seized from him.
