1. The Acting President says that the National Unity Government’s goal is to make Myanmar a peaceful country with no gunshots heard

In an interview on April 17, Acting President Duwa Lashi La of the National Unity Government stated: “Our goal is to establish this country as a peaceful country with no gunshots heard, a country with a strong economy, and a country full of hope for the youth in the future, so we must take care to achieve these things.”

The Acting President called on the neighbouring countries that border Myanmar to assist and stand with Myanmar and its people instead of cooperating with the military council.

2. NUG’s Union Minister Dr. Sasa says that the world-renowned TIME Magazine announced in a subtle way, in order to let the world know, that terrorist leader Min Aung Hlaing is worse than the Taliban

In response to a reporter’s question over TIME Magazine’s inclusion of terrorist leader Min Aung Hlaing in their Top 100 Most Influential People of 2023, Dr. Sasa provided the following remarks in an interview on April 17:

“The world-renowned TIME Magazine is announcing in a subtle way, in order to let the world know, that terrorist leader Min Aung Hlaing is a world villain worse than the Taliban. The only person in the world worse than the Taliban is Osama bin Laden, a friend of the Taliban. Min Aung Hlaing and Osama bin Laden are the same. TIME Magazine is indirectly announcing to the world that the terrorist organisation ‘State Administration Council (SAC)’ led by terrorist leader Min Aung Hlaing, is the same as the world’s terrorist organisation Al-Qaeda, led by Osama Bin Laden, and their partner, ISIS.”

To date, the terrorist military group has killed more than 3,400 people and arrested and detained more than 20,000 others since its attempted coup on February 1, 2021.

3. Kyunhla-Kanbalu Activists Group supports 126 households from Pazigyi village with 100,000 kyats per household with donation funds from domestic and abroad

On April 18, the Kyunhla-Kanbalu Activists Group stated the distribution of donation funds for Pazigyi village as follows:

“The donations for Pazigyi village from domestic and abroad have been donated to 126 households from Pazigyi village at the rate of 100,000 kyats per household, and we would like to announce that all the donations received will be distributed to the remaining households. We will keep announcing medicine and other donations.”

On April 11, a total of 168 people, the majority of whom were children and women, were killed in the air bombardment by the terrorist military on Pazigyi village in Kanbalu Township.

4. The revolutionary forces have confirmed the attack on the Aye Lar Air Force Base in Nay Pyi Taw

There were widespread rumours of an attack on Nay Pyi Taw’s Aye Lar Air Force Base. The revolutionary forces in Nay Pyi Taw area claim that this is actually the case. On April 16, at about 11:00 p.m., heavy weapon shells landed and exploded inside the Aye Lay Air Force Base.

“The exact damage is still being confirmed,” said a revolutionary comrade.

Recent reports say that heavy weapon shells struck an oil tank inside the Air Base, causing it to explode and catch fire.

On April 16, there was another attack in Nay Pyi Taw in which the Dekkhina Thiri Township People’s Defence Group and Sittaung Urban Guerrilla Group (Nay Pyi Taw) collaborated to attack a police outpost situated on the east-west street bridging Yaza Thingaha Road and Zebu Kyethayay Road, and six members of the junta’s security force were reportedly killed.

5. A clash broke out this morning between the Venom PDF Column and a military column in Mekanei, Myawaddy District, killing two military soldiers

This morning, two military soldiers were killed in a clash in Mekanei, in Myawaddy District, in the Southern Military Region, according to the Venom PDF Column of the Cobra Column 2.

“At around 6:30 a.m. this morning, April 18, in Mekanei, Myawaddy District, Karen State, the Southern Military Region, when terrorist military council troops advanced while disguising themselves in KNU uniforms, a skirmish erupted with our Venom PDF Column,” said the Venom PDF Column.

Two soldiers from the military council were reportedly killed during the clash, and an AK rifle and a 40-mm grenade launcher were seized.

6. The 9th campaign of NUGPay’s ‘For Our People’ to provide support for ‘Southern Region Forces’ has started

On April 17, the NUGPay initiative announced the start of its 9thFor Our People’ campaign as follows:

“In the 9thFor Our People‘ campaign, the NUGPay will collaborate with people to support the southern region’s defence forces. The donations will be collected from April 17 through April 30, 2023, after which they will be delivered to the ground forces.”

The 8th campaign of NUGPay ‘For Our People‘ to provide support for the Sagaing Region, namely ‘Battle of Sagaing, Victory for Independence,’ with the support of NUGPay and the people, has raised a total of 230 lack kyats, which has already been donated to the defence forces in the Sagaing Region.

7. Ye Bhilu Group attacks Ye Police Station with 40-mm grenades

On April 18, the Leader and Commander of Ye Bhilu Group told RadioNUG regarding the attack on Ye Police Station:

“There may be damage on the military council side, but we cannot say how much the damage is. We opened fire with 40-mm grenades, and one of them fell straight into the middle of the Police Station and exploded. So there must be harm on their side. Even if there are no casualties, there may be injuries. The time was around 8 o’clock yesterday.”

The attack against Ye Police Station was said to have been carried out on April 17 in the morning, and the extent of damage is still being confirmed.

On April 4, in the early morning, Ye Bhilu Group also engaged in fighting with the military column concealing between the two villages of Ahr Yu Taung and Taung Sun, resulting in the deaths of military troops
