1. U Aung Kyi Nyunt, Chairman of the CRPH, has requested an emergency UN meeting or a UN Security Council decision and has asked ASEAN leaders to make practical decisions at the forthcoming summit

On April 14, U Aung Kyi Nyunt, Chairman of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), issued a video statement calling for international communities as well as the UN and ASEAN regarding the terrorist military’s aerial attack on Pazigyi village, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region.

In his statement, Chairman U Aung Kyi Nyunt said: “The terrorist military has clearly neglected all calls to return Myanmar to its best situation by the international community. It is now clear that words cannot stop the brutality of the military junta. Therefore, I would like to request your cooperation for more effective actions. I also request that an emergency meeting be convened by the United Nations or that a decision be made by the UN Security Council regarding the current situation. Adopt a concrete resolution to eliminate all forms of military’s violence. Dear ASEAN Leaders, please set practical work plans in the forthcoming Summit.”

On April 11, the terrorist military launched an aerial bombardment on Pazigyi village, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region, where civilians, including children, were gathering, and nearly 170 civilians were killed.

2. NUG’s Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe says that there is no place on earth for the world’s criminal military, which is killing innocent people against the laws of human ethics

On April 12, Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, Union Minister for Education and Health, stated the following regarding the military’s brutal attack on Pazigyi village in Sagaing Region:

“The military of war criminals, which killed more than 30 schoolchildren, pregnant women, and more than 100 innocent civilians [in Pazigyi village]…

The military of war criminals, which killed Kachin people, Kayah (Karenni) people, Karen people, Mon people, Bamar people, Rakhine people, Shan people, and Rohingya people …

The world’s criminal military, which treats the public as an enemy and kills innocent people against the laws of the world and the laws of human ethics …

There is no place for you on this earth.”

To date, the terrorist military group has killed at least 3,000 people and arrested and detained more than 20,000 others.

3. The Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) had a meeting with the people’s administration bodies from Sagaing and Magway Regions

On April 14, the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) of the National Unity Government held its 15/2023 meeting with the people’s administration bodies from Sagaing and Magway Regions.

At the meeting, U Aung Myo Min, a member of the ILACC and Union Minister of Human Rights, gave an opening speech.

Following that, representatives from the several ministries present gave an overview of each ministry’s roles, policies, guidelines, and functions and addressed questions that the members of the various people’s administration bodies present had and the challenges they were currently experiencing.

Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Associate Secretaries, and officials from various ministries, as well as leaders and members of the people’s administration bodies in Sagaing and Magway Regions attended the meeting.

4. Mindat Township residents are being urged to construct underground bunkers as quickly as possible since the terrorist military is purposefully firing howitzer cannons and conducting airstrikes in Mindat Township

On April 14, the Chin Defence Force Mindat (CDF-Mindat) issued an emergency notice urging people to build bunkers as follows:

“The terrorist military council has been carrying out a series of aerial attacks and firing heavy weapons (howitzer cannons) into Mindat Township purposefully. The CDF-Mindat has repeatedly issued notices to the public to construct underground bunkers capable of defending the military’s aerial attacks and heavy weaponry (howitzer cannon) firings in accordance with the standards set. In order to ensure the safety of the public in Mindat Township, the CDF-Mindat informs the public that necessary action will be taken against those who do not follow the notices issued by the CDF-Mindat. Therefore, the public is urged again to construct underground bunkers, according to the standards set, that are capable of defending against airstrikes and heavy weapon fire, as soon as possible.”

5. The Hinthada District PDF Battalion has been established and has stated that operations will begin soon

The Hinthada District Battalion, Irrawaddy Military Region, under the Southern Regional Command of the People’s Defence Force, launched their new Facebook page for news and information on April 13, as follows:

“The Hinthada District Battalion of the Irrawaddy Military Region was established on November 8, 2021, with the majority of the local revolutionary comrades who received military training from the major ethnic revolutionary armies such as the KIA, AA, KNU, and DKBA, etc. From now on, the operations of each division under Hinthada District Battalion and defence-related matters will be released in a responsible manner from this Facebook page. We, under the single-command system of the Ministry of Defence, further promise to root out the dictatorship and stand together with the people until the end of the Spring Revolution.”

6. Local defence forces use heavy weapons to attack the military’s Bhilu column, which arrived at the Salingyi Township’s Nyaung Pin Gyi police station from the Northwest Regional Military Command

On April 15, the Salingyi Border Task Force (SBTF) released an operation report as follows:

“We used heavy weapons to attack the military’s Bhilu column that arrived at Nyaung Pin Gyi police station from the Northwest Regional Military Command for about an hour starting at 11:00 p.m. on the eve of the Thingyan water festival, in response to the military’s aerial attack on Kanbalu’s Pazigyi village.”

The operation was said to have been carried out jointly by the Yinmarbin-Salingyi heavy weapon alliance—the Salingyi Border Task Force (SBTF), the Eagle Defence Force (EDF), the Fighter Brotherhood Guerrilla Army, the Red Wings Special Guerrilla Force—and other brotherly allied forces and regional defence forces.

7. A protest rally against the bombardment of Kabalu’s Pazigyi village by the Myanmar military was carried out in front of the Parliament of Oslo, Norway

On April 14, Myanmar nationals and activists in Norway led a protest against the bombardment of Kabalu’s Pazigyi village by the Myanmar military in front of the Parliament of Oslo, Norway.

“This is not even a common crime; it is a heinous genocide. This is a matter for all people. We will make it clear that the Norwegian Parliament is also morally responsible for taking decisive action against the Myanmar military,” the protesters said.

During the protest, roses were laid to show condolences to the residents of Pazigyi village who died in the air attack, and speeches were given.
