1. The Union Prime Minister expresses greetings to the Chin National Organisation on the occasion of its second anniversary, urging everyone to continue their unwavering march until the desired revolutionary aim is reached
Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann included the following in his greeting letter sent to the second anniversary of the Chin National Organisation on April 13:
“At this time, as we are waging an armed revolution, we will inevitably suffer losses. However, we cannot collapse until we reach our desired goal. We cannot abandon the battles either. We must continue marching relentlessly until we reach our desired goal.”
Besides, as the enemy is roaring like a lion right now, the Union Prime Minister, in his letter, urged everyone to exercise caution and avoid falling for the enemy’s traps.
2. NUG’s Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung says that measures will be taken to ensure those responsible for the war crimes committed in Pazigyi village, Kanbalu Township, are brought to justice
In an interview, Daw Zin Mar Aung, Union Minister of Foreign Affairs for the National Unity Government, said the following about the April 11 airstrike on Pazigyi village, Kanbalu Township:
“I want to assure the public that we will do all in our power to bring those responsible for acts of war crimes and other forms of brutality like this to justice. We’ll have to be stronger than this. We’ll need to exercise more caution.”
On the morning of April 11, 2023, the terrorist military junta launched an aerial attack against Pazigyi village, Kanbalu Township, and Sagaing Division, where civilians were gathering to discuss community issues. Many civilians, including women and children, were brutally killed during the aerial attack.
3. Death troll in aerial attack against Pazigyi village reaches 165
On April 13, Dr. Shwe Pon, Deputy Minister of Health for the National Unity Government, stated the latest situation of the aerial attack in Pazigyi village, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Division, as follows:
“The death toll in Pazigyi village, Kanbalu Township, has reached 165 as of the night of April 12.”
On the morning of April 11, 2023, the terrorist military’s air force launched a bombardment on Pazigyi village, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Division, killing many civilians.
Despite the junta’s claim in its press release that it was a military target against the PDF members who were present, the casualties were primarily women and children.
4. NUG’s Deputy Education Minister says that the method of suppression used by the military council throughout the ages is instilling fear and division
On April 12, Daw Ja Htoi Pan, the National Unity Government’s deputy minister of education, made the following remarks regarding the oppressive methods used by the military council:
“The military council’s methods of suppressing those who oppose it throughout the ages have been to instil fear and divide. There are also many examples showing that its methods of suppression were effective. It used various forms of division. One of them is instilling the belief, which is coming out of its equation, that the revolution is being carried out by a subversive group. In reality, the anti-military movements that have risen throughout the ages have emerged from the general public. Now in the spring revolution, the military council is dividing the populace and the revolutionaries as if the revolutionaries had nothing to do with the populace. The military council portrays the revolutionary movement as the enemy of the general public, engaging in war crimes without differentiating between military and civilian targets. What do these acts show? They want to show that those who support or are related to the PDF, NUG, and other revolutionary parties will face the same fate. They are dividing the public and the revolutionary forces.”
5. A prayer rally for the people of Kanbalu will be held in New York, USA
A prayer rally for the people of Kanbalu and the people of Myanmar, who are bearing the brunt, will be held in New York, USA, on April 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. local time.
U Nay Tin Myint from the NYCBC told Radio NUG about the prayer rally to be held at Moore Homestead Playground in New York, USA, as follows:
“Recently, on April 11, in Kanbalu, the military group carried out an air strike, bombed people, and brutally killed people with machine guns from aeroplanes. As a result, more than 100 people, including children, pregnant women, and the elderly, were killed, and many others were injured. Therefore, we, the NYCBC in New York City, USA, will be holding a prayer rally for the people of Kanbalu and the people of Myanmar, who are bearing the brunt, on April 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in order to express our clear opposition to and condemnation of the actions of the terrorist military group. There are three main purposes. The first point is that this kind of thing is not just happening now; it has happened in Hpa-Kant before, and it has happened many times in other states and divisions as well. Therefore, we are asking the international government and international leaders to take action since condemnation is no longer enough. Mainly, we urge them to impose the no-fly zone precisely. The second point is urging the United Nations, including the UN Security Council, to strictly implement the no–fly–zone issue since only by doing so will our innocent people be safe from being brutally killed every day. In case the UN and the UNSC cannot decide on these issues, we urged them to hand the Myanmar issue over to the ICC and let the ICC implement these issues. The third point is that we want to show that all the people in the rest of Myanmar and New York citizens stand soldierly with the people of Kanbalu and will continue to fight with all our strength and mental strength to eliminate this terrorist military group from motherland Myanmar.”
