1. The Union Prime Minister says that the terrorist military council has been doing more to create restlessness in people’s hearts

Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khine Thann stated the following during the meeting (7/2023) of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) held on February 16:

“It is found that after the terrorist military council realised that they could no longer control the situation in the country, they issued the principle of the right to bear arms in a clumsy and cunning way to make the country a mess and people restless in their hearts. Therefore, we will have to think about ways to protect the people more. Our people’s administrative development is directly proportional to territorial governance, so we must increase our ability to govern the territory and maintain peace and stability.”

Furthermore, the Union Prime Minister also claimed that the military council has imposed martial law and military justice in areas over which it has no control, but that it will continue to abuse and threaten the people and commit more brutal war crimes in order to weaken the strength of the people.

2. NUG’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Minister will meet with Myanmar people in the San Francisco Bay area

NUG Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung and Deputy Minister U Moe Zaw Oo will have a meeting with Myanmar people in the San Francisco Bay area on February 19, and there will also be a public Q&A session.

There will be another meeting in the San Francisco Bay area on February 21 at the University of San Francisco (USF), where the ministers will meet with Myanmar students at USF and other interested parties from the United States.

The Union Minister of Foreign Affairs, Daw Zin Mar Aung, has arrived in the United States on behalf of the National Unity Government, and she also met with Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman on February 14 to discuss Myanmar’s democratic affairs.

NUG’s Ministry of Defence created a Telegram channel for those military personnel, police officers, and civil servants from various departments who continue to work under the military council due to various difficulties and undeniable reasons to be able to send information securely and conveniently

On February 17, the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government announced the establishment of a Telegram channel for informants to be able to send information securely and conveniently, as follows:

“Are you continuing to work under military council rule due to various difficulties and undeniable reasons? All you have to do is take the people’s side. We have created a channel through which hard informants (watermelons) from various departments, including military officers, police officers, and civil servants, can send key information.”

According to the Ministry of Defence, informants can reach out to the Telegram channel at http://t.me/MyanmarPeople without having to worry about the security of their personal data and will be rewarded based on the level of information sent.

In addition, informants, “watermelon”: green (military) on the outside, but red (revolutionary) on the inside who will sent information will receive the recognition of the National Unity Government and they will receive the benefits of the People’s Embrace Program in the post-revolutionary period.

4. The spokesperson of the NUG’s Acting President Office says that dialogue with the military council is no longer possible but rather effective action must be taken in accordance with the UN Security Council resolution

During an interview with Burma News Network in February, U Kyaw Zaw, spokesperson of the Office of the Acting President, said that dialogue with the military council is no longer possible but rather effective action must be taken in accordance with the UN Security Council resolution.

“Because persuading the military council, which has been abusing by using force since the coup, to engage in dialogue and respect human rights is no longer possible, effective action must be taken in accordance with the UN Security Council,” U Kyaw Zaw said.

The terrorist military group murdered nearly 3,000 people and arrested more than 10,000 others.

5. Justice For Myanmar (JFM) welcomes Singapore Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan’s commitment to ban the transfer of arms and military-civilian dual-use items from Singapore to Myanmar

On February 16, Justice For Myanmar (JFM) released a statement on welcoming Singapore government’s prohibiting of the transfer of arms and dual-use items, as follows:

“Justice For Myanmar welcomes Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan’s pledge to prohibit the transfer of arms and dual use goods from Singapore to Myanmar. These words must be matched with decisive action against the many companies registered in Singapore that have brokered arms and equipment for the Myanmar military, including after its 2021 illegal coup attempt.”

JFM claimed that Singapore has long been a financial hub for the Myanmar military’s arms brokers, that Myanmar arms brokers use Singaporean banks to make payments, and that some purchases include receiving goods in the city-state of Singapore.

In addition, JFM also stated that Myanmar military arms brokers have subsidiaries in Singapore; among the notorious arms brokerage companies are Star Sapphire Group, Dynasty International, Htoo Group, and MCM Group, all of which are sanctioned by the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the EU.

6. CDM doctors and nurses are needed in the Albino Tiger Company-1

On February 17, Major Saw Zaw Win of Albino Tiger Company-1 said that CDM doctors and nurses are needed in Albino Tiger Company-1.

“We need CDM doctors (male) or nurses (male) in Albino Tiger Company-1, so anyone who wants to be a part of the revolution is welcome to come and join us,” he said.

It was reported that a comrade of the Brave Heart Army was injured in the attack, and two innocent civilians were killed by the military council troops.
