1. Acting President Duwa Lashi La says that the unity among domestic forces is a source of strength in the face of the terrorist military regime

At the cabinet meeting (5/2023) of the National Unity government, held on February 7, Acting President Duwa Lashi La said the following:

“Recognising the statement issued on February 3 by the Shan State Progressive Party (SSPP) that it would join forces with pro-democracy forces and federal forces, and the statement issued by the New Mon State Party (NMSP) soon after that on the 76th Mon National Day, our government always invites all parties to work together for the country’s future federal affairs. Unity among domestic forces is a strength to resist the terrorist military group. We need to build cohesion, unity, and practical cooperation between us.”

Moreover, the Acting President said that Union Ministers and Deputy Ministers who are members of the government should always prioritise ethnic affairs and alliances.

2. NUG’s Foreign Minister wishes for the 76th Shan National Day that a true federal union will be able to be built together

On the 76th Shan National Day, which falls on February 7, NUG’s Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung has sent her best wishes as follows:

“On today’s 76th Shan National Day, may the Shan ethnic brothers and sisters have peace and prosperity. I wish that we can successfully overcome the difficulties we are facing together and build a true federal union together.”

Following the military coup, regional instabilities occurred throughout the country, including in Shan State, and the majority of the local people were forced to deal with difficulties and crises.

3. Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung had a meeting with the UK Foreign Minister

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Unity Government, Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung met and discussed with James Cleverly, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, on February 6 at 3:30 p.m. UK time. During the meeting held at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation regarding the issue of Myanmar, efforts to stop the violence of the terrorist military group, the issue of ethnic minorities, and other topics. During her visit to the UK, Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung will continue to meet with other relevant UK officials to discuss potential cooperation in Myanmar affairs, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

4. Union Minister U Tin Tun Naing says that affordable arrangements have been made in order for people from all social classes to be able to take part in the Spring Revolution

At an event in February, U Tin Tun Naing, Union Minister of Planning, Finance and Investment, made the following announcement:

“Along with the other fundraising projects, we have also made arrangements so that members of all social classes will be able to afford to take part in this revolution. So we want everyone to participate in these arrangements to the extent they can afford and within their reach.”

The End of Dictatorship (EOD) initiatives, a revolutionary fundraising initiative of the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment, announced that among the Spring Bliss affordable housing investment projects, the Spring Bliss-3 located at Mingalardon Township is the most popular with the people, as follows:

“The most interesting of the revolutionary people among the Spring Bliss affordable housing investment projects is the one located in Mingalardon. It is close to Yangon International Airport, and in addition, it is just one bus stop away from Pyay Road, so it’s very convenient to get around. It’s a quiet and peaceful place located next to the City Golf Course. It can be said that the environment there is one where the winters are crisp, the summers are not overly hot, and it has football players’ favourite weather during the rainy seasons.”

The Spring Bliss housing projects are intended to be built with 3,000 affordable apartment rooms on military-owned lands in South Dagon, Mingalardon, and Hlaingthaya Townships in the first place. However, the apartments will be expanded for sales, according to the EOD, because nearly 3,600 people have registered for pre-order sales.

The sale of the Spring Bliss affordable housing projects will be officially launched on February 11, and pre-orders can now be registered with EOD’s sales agents.

5. The NUG’s Human Rights Minister says that there is an urgent need for the world to pay attention to the situation in Myanmar and take action against the terrorist military council urgently

U Aung Myo Min, Union Minister for Human Rights, said the following in an interview with BNN News in February:

“The situation in Myanmar is that the terrorist military is intentionally committing crimes against the civilian population as enemies. The world needs to pay attention to this and take action urgently. The sad thing is that people are being killed, villages are being burned down, and tens of thousands of people are fleeing in order for the world to pay attention and take action.”

The terrorist junta killed more than 2,000 people and arrested and detained more than 10,000 others.

6. Executive Order 14014, which was issued by President Biden to impose sanctions on certain Burmese properties in response to a coup by the Burmese military against the country’s democratically elected civilian government, is extended for one year and will therefore continue in effect beyond February 10, 2023

President Biden, pursuant to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) (50 U.S.C. 1701-1706), issued “Executive Order 14014 on Blocking Property with Respect to the Situation in Burma” on February 10, 2021, in response to a coup by the Burmese military against the country’s democratically elected civilian government.

The White House issued a notice on the one-year “Continuation of the National Emergency with Respect to the Situation in and in Relation to Burma” on February 6, which will continue in effect beyond February 10, 2023.

The national emergency (Executive Order 14014) was declared by President Biden to deal with the situation in and in relation to Myanmar, and in particular the February 1, 2021, coup, in which the military overthrew the democratically elected civilian government of Myanmar and unjustly arrested and detained government leaders, politicians, human rights defenders, journalists, and religious leaders, thereby rejecting the will of the people of Myanmar as expressed in elections held in November 2020 and undermining the country’s democratic transition and rule of law, constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.

7. The revolutionary forces confirmed that the fake Facebook page of the Underground Lightning Guerrilla Force created fake news

Some of the revolutionary forces held a meeting on February 6, which confirmed the fake Facebook page of the Underground Lightning Guerrilla Force.

“The images and stories it used were all made up. The media believed them and repeated the articles. We are keeping an eye on that suspicious Facebook page, which was set up not long ago. We checked it thoroughly and discovered it to be a counterfeit. It contains no actual facts,” said the revolutionary forces.

False news was released by the fake Underground Lightning Guerrilla Force page, claiming to be a February report of military operation in Sadaung area.

8. NUG provides more than 4,000,000 MMK worth of medicine urgently needed in Matupi Township, Chin State

On February 7, the Ministry of International Cooperation, the National Unity Government, announced that the ministry had provided Matupi Township, Chin State, with urgently needed medicine assistance, as follows:

“With the people’s support for the Humanitarian Corridor Project of the Ministry of International Cooperation, the National Unity Government, a total of 4,153,335 kyats’ worth of medicine that was urgently needed in Matupi Township, Chin State, was provided.”

Due to the atrocities of the terrorist military group, the local people in Chin State were forced to flee their homes and take refuge.

At the Spring Tea Talk event on January 8, up to 52 types of food will be available, and ethnic foods will also be included.
