Acting President Duwa Lashi La stated that educational opportunities for the next-generation children have been destroyed due to the military coup. On January 17, the Acting President said at the cabinet meeting.

“The 2021 military coup was a crime committed by the Myanmar military during the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result of the military coup, the public’s general standard of living and health status have declined dramatically. In addition, educational opportunities for the next-generation children who will lead our country’s future have been destroyed,” he said. In addition, the Acting President added that there are many people’s lives that have been destroyed between political and armed crises.

The perpetrators of the above arson and destruction of residential buildings, including religious historical heritage, were 180 terrorist soldiers from the Sagaing Region’s Mawlaik-based infantry battalion 364, the Yangon Region’s Hmawbi-based infantry battalions 701, 703, and 704, and KhaLaYa’s 361 and 369 battalions,” the statement said. According to the report, there have been four instances of burning and violence in Ye-U township, including this time.

“As the Ministry of Human Rights, we are firmly committed to achieving equality, peace, and justice for all people, and we will do our best to punish the crimes committed by the terrorist army,” the Ministry stated.

“As part of the Nan Htike Aung operation, S.O.F. forces raided the home of Kyarr Gyi, a leader of Yinnyein village’s Pyu Saw Htee group in Paung township, Mon State. The Pyu leader fled with the protection of his family members,” S.O.F. forces stated. It is said that they investigated his family members, forced them to evade a safe place, and seized a rifle-type gun, an ammunition house, and ten bullets in the house.

Kyarr Gyi, the Pyu leader, has been unjustly threatening, arresting, and torturing locals, youths, and CDM employees, demanding money, and carrying out terrorist activities in collaboration with the military council.

7. A guerrilla group fired two homemade mines at the Indaw city election commission office

It is reported that a guerrilla group fired two homemade mines into the Indaw city’s election commission office. On January 17th, at 4:00 p.m., the Indaw IR Team confirmed the news.

“On January 18th, at 4:00 p.m., a guerrilla group fired two homemade mines at the election commission office in Indaw city. After being hit by homemade mines, the military council opened fire with heavy weapons,” they said. According to the report, two of the military council’s shells exploded near the Indaw cemetery, and one exploded near the east entrance to the Indaw market, injuring a 3-year-old child and a man in his 30s.

9. The People’s Defense Force attacked the Pyu Saw Htee members who were hiding in Sinnge village

The Pyu Saw Htee members, who were hiding in Sinnge village from Inkokekar village in Taze township of Sagaing division, were attacked by the People’s Defense Force, and causing serious injuries. On January 18, the Guerrilla Warfare – K.P.K released military news.

“The Guerrilla Warfare – K.P.K, TSR, and Taze Tiger PLA forces jointly attacked the five Pyu Saw Htee members who were hiding in Sinnge village from Inkokekar village on January 18 at 10:00 a.m,” the Guerrilla Warfare said. According to the report, one Pyu Saw Htee member was seriously injured with one hand during the incident, and the other was hospitalized with critical injuries.

10. Myanmar military jets dropped five bombs on the lower part of Motalay village, causing casualties

It is reported that at least five bombs were dropped by two planes on Motalay village in Katha township, Sagaing division, resulting in casualties. People’s Defense Force (Katha) confirmed the news on January 18th at 4:15 p.m.

The junta troops and joint forces led by the ABSDF have been fighting for nearly a day, beginning at 11:15 a.m. on January 18, and the military has dropped bombs from planes because they have been injured. The junta aircraft attacked the crowd and civilian homes, and the death toll is still under investigation, and according to reports, at least nine civilians have been killed.
