The Union Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than warned that the terrorist war council, which is losing on all fronts, is working to kill the public and make it difficult for humanitarian aid. The Prime Minister said at the Interim Local Public Administration Central Committee’s meeting on January 12. The terrorist junta may hold a sham illegal election as their last exit, so the NUG government needs to develop and implement plans for possible political situations.
“The terrorist military council, which is losing on all fronts, is working to kill people and make humanitarian aid difficult. It can be seen that their aim is to instill fear in the people and create misunderstandings between not only the public and the revolutionary forces but also one organization and another,” the Union Prime Minister said. The attending members of the Interim Local Public Administration Central Committee clarified the decision made on (1/2023), the completed situation of previous processes, and the remaining procedures to be carried out, after which the attending officials discussed extensively. The Union Prime Minister, Mann Win Khaing Than, the chairperson of the Interim Local Public Administration Central Committee, led the meeting, which was attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, and officials from various departments.
2. CRPH’s Security and Defense Committee meets with the Ministry of Defense
On January 11, the Security and Defense Committee of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) held an online meeting with the Ministry of Defense. In the meeting, U Zay Lat, the chairman of the CRPH’s Security and Defense Committee, stated the following:

The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw reported that the chairman and members of the Security and Defense Committee, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defense U Naing Htoo Aung, and other officials attended the meeting.

On January 12, the NUG Ministry of Defense sent a congratulatory message on the 60th anniversary of Ta’ang National Revolution Day. “We would like to wish all Ta’ang national people mental and physical well-being on the occasion of the 60th Ta’ang National Revolution Day. Since 1963, the Ta’ang national people have taken up arms and resisted successive dictators. We pay tribute to all Ta’ang national heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives, blood, and wealth to fight during the revolution’s 60-year journey,” the statement said.

At this time, we are proud to send this message with the best wishes that Ta’ang nationals and the entire Ta’ang people can work together to abolish the military dictatorship system and establish a federal democratic union,” the Ministry of Defense described.

On January 12, Deputy Minister Ja Htoi Pan informed that she had been able to deliver warm clothing and food to people in war-evacuation areas. “This time, I was able to personally deliver the donations of our CDM education staff and other volunteers when I visited the war-evacuation areas. It’s not much, but it’s valuable because it’s a noble donation from CDM employees,” the Deputy Minister said. The donated items are warm clothes, clothing, 24-large packs of ladies’ monthly supplies, school stationery and warm hats and mufflers made by CDM teachers.

According to a CDM teacher, the displaced people who moved to the Bangkok ward lived in the former RC monastery and lived comfortably thanks to the monk’s assistance. They have been fleeing the war for a year and eight months due to battles and have come from villages like Demoso, Pekhon, and Mongpai. Some people have arrived through the Kawnghwet refugee camp.

“On January 11, at 5:30 p.m., during a field inspection by the District Public Administration, Township Public Administration, Township Public Defense, and Ward and Village Tract Administration Groups between two villages in Pinlebu Township, Sagaing division, 594 cups of narcotic (heroin) soap (7128 grams) with a total value of 1,485,000 kyats were arrested, along with two female drug dealers.” The Public Administration Group of Pinlebu township has announced that the two arrested female defendants are being prosecuted in accordance with procedures.

10. A terrorist group kills a member of the National League for Democracy (NLD)
According to the report, U Myo Lin, a member of the National League for Democracy from Hteinkangyi village in Myittha Township, was killed by a terrorist group, and the body was not returned to his family. On January 12, the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) released the following:
“On January 3, the terrorist group arrested U Myo Lin, a member of the NLD party from Hteinkangyi village in Myittha township, Mandalay Region. They notified family members to come to the hospital because U Myo Lin was sick, but the family found him dead.”
It is said that U Myo Lin’s body was found with serious wounds on his feet, hands, and knees and a hole in his head. The terrorist group buried U Myo Lin’s body according to their plan on January 7 without returning the body to the family.
