1. The Acting President directs that the general resources obtained from the public be managed appropriately and without waste in order to realize the revolution

At the 81st Cabinet Meeting of the National Unity Government, Acting President Duwa Lashi La directed that the general resources received from the public be managed appropriately and without waste in order to realize the revolution, as follows:

“I would like to urge each Cabinet member to make an effort to make sure that their words and deeds are consistent and to demonstrate it via their work in 2023, as in the previous year. I would also like to encourage everyone to conduct a review on whether the principle and person for the relevant commissions and committees are compatible. It is critical that the general resources received from the public are managed properly and without waste in order to realize the revolution.”

The National Unity Government operates the revolution fund through public donations as well as the sale of EOD shares and Special Treasury Bonds, and it spends up to 95 percent of its funds on defence.

2. Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye calls on all ethnic people to speak with one voice to eradicate the military dictatorship

On January 12, Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye penned a poem on the revolution in which he calls on all the ethnic people to speak with one voice to eradicate the military dictatorship and win the revolution.

In order to bring justice,

since everyone sacrificed together,

among us ethnic siblings who live on the same land,

there is no discrimination at all.

We are filled with sympathy.

No matter when, where, or whatever,

we are all hand in hand together.

There is no variation between us.

Give one voice

for the eradication of military dictatorship.

We will move forward with one voice

towards the imminent victory.

Dr. Win Myat Aye (11.01.2023)

3. NUG Union Minister U Htin Linn Aung exhorts people to join the fight because only after the revolution is accomplished will the fallen heroes be able to be cried for

On January 11, U Htin Linn Aung, Union Minister for Communications, Information, and Technology, encouraged people to struggle together because only after the revolution is accomplished will the fallen heroes be able to be cried for. The Union Minister stated the following:

“Some of the losses are very big. I have never spoken to him, but I know him as ‘A Tee.’ His short audio clips frequently appear in our group conversations. He was the one who can be counted on to manage things on the ground. With his ethnic accent, he always says, ‘No problem, brother; I’ll take care of it.’ He was going beyond fulfilling his responsibility. He followed his technical team to the battlefronts, even though he was not obliged to do so. He was the one who worked from the bottom up to develop a technical team in an ethnic area. A Tee, who is very grateful, has now fallen on the battlefield. The revolution, for which many others like A Tee gave their lives, is bitter. In a situation where only after the revolution is accomplished will the fallen heroes be able to be cried for, the heart of those who suppressed their tears until now have been torn apart. They are looking forward to those who will give them strength while wondering and depressing if they are left without anyone.”

The people’s resistive revolution began on September 7, 2021, and an offensive attack is now being attempted to accelerate things.

4. The military junta has violated the right to life and political rights stipulated by international human rights law

On January 11, the Ministry of Education issued a statement on the death sentence of CDM teacher U Kaung Khant Kyaw, claiming that the military junta violated international human rights law by violating the right to life and political rights, as follows:

“The terrorist military junta unjustly arrested U Kaung Khant Kyaw, a 27-year-old CDM teacher living in Myanaung, Ayeyarwady Division, in October 2021 and imprisoned him in Hinthada Prison.

Hinthada District Court, a junta-biased and controlled court, sentenced U Kaung Khant Kyaw to 5 years in prison under Section 50(j) of the Counter-Terrorism Law, despite the fact that the illegitimate junta lacks the jurisdiction to manage the judicial system.

Again, on December 30, 2022, the Myanaung District Court imposed the death penalty under Section 302(1)(b) of the Penal Code, and he was known to be immediately transferred to Pathein Prison after the sentence.

According to media reports, the terrorist junta is torturing political prisoners in Pathein prison. The terrorist military junta must be held accountable for crimes against humanity, war crimes, and genocide.

Arresting, killing, and sentencing by secret courts a young teacher who is reliable and dependable to his country is a violation of the right to life and political rights stipulated by international human rights law.

The imposition of the death penalty is a violation of the U.N.’s peace and security mechanism while the U.N. Security Council is adopting Resolution 2669 (2022) on the Myanmar issue and pressuring the release of political prisoners.”

5. The Secretary of the Ministry of Defence (NUG) says that the NUG will respond in the best and most decisive manner to the unlawful acts of the military council

U Naing Htoo Aung, Secretary of the Ministry of Defence (NUG), said on January 11 that the NUG will respond in the best and most decisive manner to the unlawful acts of the military council. He stated as follows:

“The bombings in A Nang Pa in Kachin State, Camp Victoria in Chin State, and KNU territory in Karen State; the attacks in TNLA territory in Shan State, Karenni State, and Rakhine State; the arson of villages in various Divisions; and the atrocious killings of people are all attacks on all of citizens. Attacking one revolutionary organization is an attack on all revolutionary organizations. We will all work together to respond in the best and most decisive manner to the unlawful acts of the military council.”

Moreover, the Secretary also said that the terrorist military group that conducted air raids after they had declared a ceasefire is a liar and that the end of terrorist leader Min Aung Hlaing and his associates is not far away.

6. CDM Captain Nyi Thuta urges the people to support the “Victory Flag of Spring” fundraising project

Captain Nyi Thuta, an army captain who defected toward the people and was participating in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), urged the people to support the “Nway-Oo-Aung-Lan” or “Victory Flag of Spring” fundraising project, as follows:

“The [junta] military does not yet have a good drone capability. I had attended and trained in drone technology trainings before joining CDM. It can be said that they were not successful. So, the military has not yet been able to use drones widely. It has just recently desperately refocused on it in order to counterattack [the NUG’s drone technology]. Now, I would like to introduce the ‘Victory Flag of Spring’ project. It is a project being carried out by the NUG Ministry of Communications, Information and Technology to raise funds for the Federal Wings Drone Force. Please support the ’Victory Flag of Spring’ project. We have four teams for the project, and people can support it as much as they can from various countries.”

Donations can be made for the basic materials needed to build a drone, such as the propellers, cameras, circuits, and batteries: 10 USD for a propeller, 50 USD for a circuit, 100 USD for a camera, and 500 USD for a battery. It is also said that one lump sum, such as 5000 USD or 1000 USD, can also be donated.

A local people’s defence force based in Sagaing Division, namely, the Regional Friend Fighters (RFF), announced on January 12 that any vehicle carrying election materials will be confiscated, as follows:

“Our group will not allow any action related to the election of the military council at all. If we find out that any activity that is involved in the matter relate to the election, we will take the necessary measures in collaboration with local PaKaHpa (people’s defence groups) and PaAhHpa (people’s administration groups). Any vehicle carrying election materials, such as election documents, etc., will be confiscated as public property and used as needed during the revolution.”

The Regional Friend Fighters (RFF) are a revolutionary group that is fighting the military junta.
