1. The Acting President directs that the general resources obtained from the public be managed appropriately and without waste in order to realize the revolution
At the 81st Cabinet Meeting of the National Unity Government, Acting President Duwa Lashi La directed that the general resources received from the public be managed appropriately and without waste in order to realize the revolution, as follows:
“I would like to urge each Cabinet member to make an effort to make sure that their words and deeds are consistent and to demonstrate it via their work in 2023, as in the previous year. I would also like to encourage everyone to conduct a review on whether the principle and person for the relevant commissions and committees are compatible. It is critical that the general resources received from the public are managed properly and without waste in order to realize the revolution.”
The National Unity Government operates the revolution fund through public donations as well as the sale of EOD shares and Special Treasury Bonds, and it spends up to 95 percent of its funds on defence.
2. Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann claims that the NUG has the military capability to attack the enemy throughout the country.
Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann said in his New Year’s Greetings that the military strength of the NUG is superior and has the capability of attacking the enemy throughout the country, as follows:
“Everyone is already aware that the military council, despite pretending to be strong, is in a precarious situation from which it will be impossible for it to recover in any of the ongoing military, foreign, economic, social, and political sectors. We are superior in terms of military strength and military strategy, and we are in a position where we can attack the enemy everywhere in the country, but there are still challenges in terms of air defence and the ability to equip modern weapons and ammunition.”
The People’s Defensive Revolution began on September 7, 2021, and during over a year of the People’s Defensive Revolution, at least 20,000 members of the military were killed. At present, the people’s defence forces are reported to have the ability to dominate and control the main roads as well as the townships in Sagaing and Magway divisions.
3. NUG Deputy Minister U Maw Htun Aung says that employers in Myanmar need to provide their employees with complete labour rights
Deputy Minister Maw Htun Aung said in January that employers in Myanmar need to provide complete labour rights, as follows:
“Employers in Myanmar do not need to send their workers to Nirvana. It’s enough if they follow labour rights such as giving two days off a week, vacation leave, casual leave, sick leave, maternity leave, pensionable contribution, a fair salary, freedom to form trade unions, etc.”
In addition, the Deputy Minister said that it is very ugly for employers to treat workers with low standards and unfair rules and regulations.
4. The junta troops torched Yin Dway Village in Depeyin Township, Sagaing Division, for the second time this morning
The Depeyin Township Brothers group claimed that the military council troops torched Yin Dway Village, Depeyin Township, Sagaing Division, on the morning of January 3, as follows:
“According to reports, the military council forces that left Nabe Hla Village invaded Yin Dway Village from behind and set it on fire. When Yin Dway Village was burned for the first time, 50 houses were destroyed.”
In Depeyin Township, the military council troops are burning and destroying villages every day.

The operation was said to have been conducted jointly by the Monywa District 4th PDF Battalion (Chindwin Attack Force), the Special Commando Squad of the Monywa District 4th PDF Battalion (Monywa The Boys), the 4th Squadron of the Monywa District 4th PDF Battalion (5/ Teachers People’s Defence Force), the Monywa Fighter Group, Spring Dove, and the Thunderbolt Weapon PDF (Monywa).

He said: “On the evening of December 30, helicopters landed military council soldiers from Amyint Village near our base camp and launched airstrikes on us, and then we exchanged fire. In addition to the fire-damaged vehicle, we also lost approximately 10 million kyats’ worth of ammunition, for a total loss of about 20 million kyats.”

7. The People’s Defence Force (Htilin) launches a 60-day fundraising campaign, “20 million for emergency medical supplies,” for the three battalions
On January 2, the People’s Defence Force (Htilin), which is an ally of the Yaw Regional PDF’s Alliance (YRPA), announced the launch of its 60-day fundraising campaign, “20 million for emergency medical supplies,” as follows:
“Emergency medicines and medics are indispensable on the frontlines of the battlefield. Being hit by bullets and heavy weapons at the frontlines cannot be treated with medicine like a normal runny nose and cough. In times like that, only if we have the necessary medical supplies for emergency cases will we be able to save the lives of our comrades. This campaign is for three battalions of the 2nd, 4th, and 10th battalions of the Gangaw District of the People’s Defence Force (Htilin).”
The campaign’s goal was to buy and collect enough emergency medical supplies for four months during the offensive period, and people were encouraged to contribute.
8. The “Spring Tea Talk” Revolution Fundraising Event will take place on January 8
The “Spring Tea Talk” family, which raises monthly funding for the revolution from the United States, will hold a fundraising event on January 8, and those who want to support the “Spring Tea Talk” are encouraged to make a reservation before January 5.
“It’s been a full year since the Spring Tea Talk family helped the ethnic brothers and sisters in Myanmar. We pay our respect and honour to all of our family members: donors, volunteers, and buyers that put in a lot of effort each month and help out just because they care about the nation, humanity, and injustice. Participate in the revolution in any position you can by continuing to buy our services,” said a family member of the Spring Tea Talk.
At the Spring Tea Talk event on January 8, up to 52 types of food will be available, and ethnic foods will also be included.
