1. The Acting President says that the year 2023 will be the time to excavate and demolish the core of the military council

Acting President Duwa Lashi La stated during the 80th Cabinet Meeting of the National Unity Government, which was held via video conferencing on December 27, that the year 2023 would be the time to excavate and demolish the core of the military council.

“In 2023, we must endeavour to come up with an additional clear and decisive political result. It not only aims to gain public trust but to be an important new step in the development of a federal union. Moreover, in terms of military outcomes, I believe it is necessary to create a kind of success that will shake the centre of the military council. There is a Burmese proverb: ‘When the roots fall, the tips become firewood.’ In my opinion, it’s crucial to be able to knock down the military council’s core as opposed to just hitting its pillars or arms on the tips or edges. I believe that the year 2023 is the time to excavate and demolish the core of the military council.”

Furthermore, the Acting President reiterated that the victory of the spring revolution is the victory of all revolutionary forces and the victory of the entire people, not just the National Unity Government.
