Union Prime Minister, Mahn Winn Khaing Thann, says that all kinds of measures must be taken to prevent such incidents like Let Yet Kone, Tabayin, from happening again

At the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) held on September 22, Union Prime Minister, Mahn Winn Khaing Thann, added the following: that every day there was good news and also bad news on the ground; that he was saddened by the incident of Let Yet Kone, Tabayin, it was the worst incident; that arrangements were being made for the actions needed for the incidents; that international assistance is required and, at the same time, everyone must try all kinds of ways to prevent such kinds of incidents from happening again; and that security measures must be taken together by the Ministries of Defense, Home Affairs and Immigration.

Consecutively, the Union Prime Minister inquired about the state of implementation of prisons in the NUG’s legal development sector. The Union Prime Minister said that how’s the judiciary managing the prisons to hold those arrested criminals; that it is time to focus more legal matters; that what are the challenging issues in the judiciary sector; that in addition to the three “Ka” regions [Katha Township, Kawlin Township, and Kanbalu Township], there were also expanded townships that needed to be worked on; and that diligent cooperation was needed for the issues to be carried out in Chin and Karen States.

At present, courts have been established in 24 townships.

The meeting was led by Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khiang Thann, Chairman of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC), and was attended by U Lwin Ko Latt, Vice-Chairman of ILACC and Union Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration, as well as Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and relevant officials from various departments, who are the members of the central committee.

U Kyaw Zaw told Radio NUG that the NUG government has received solid evidence of terrorist attacks in Let Yet Kone, Tabayin Township, committed by the terrorist military junta.

“Among various international condemnations of the Let Yet Kone incident, the previous day, the EU Ambassador to ASEAN and Special Envoy to Myanmar expressed his strong condemnation and called for an independent investigation. The international community is demanding to take action against all the perpetrators of the incidents.”
