The meeting between the Alliance Liaison Committee of the National Unity Government and the Rakhine National League of Rakhine People’s Government was held on May 16, 2022
The Alliance Relations Committee, the National Unity Government, led by Daw Zin Mar Aung, minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and U Min Ko Naing and the Arakan People’s Government led by ULA Chairman General Twan Mrat Naing and the Secretary Dr. Nyo Twan Awng met online for two hours this morning, 16 May.
The discussion focused on the current political situation in Myanmar. Both parties had a cordial discussions on the situations in the country and exchanged views. In addition, current activities of the National Unity Government were discussed by relevant ministries.
The National Unity Government’s Foreign Minister says the spring revolution is not a revolution without a Political Road Map that does not know what to do after the drop down of the military
Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the National Unity Government Daw Zin Mar Aung said this during a meeting with Burmese-born families in the United States on May 15. She said
There can be no more dictatorships after the drop down of the military. When it comes to the State Building, it is clear what kind of political system to go with. This revolution is not a revolution without a political road map that does not know what to do after the drop down of the military.”
Currently, the NUG government is following the NUCC’s political roadmap.
Now is the best time to end the military leaders’ habit of taking power easily
Union Minister for Foreign Affairs Daw Zin Mar Aung made the remarks during a meeting with Burmese-born families in the United States on May 15. She said “After more than a year of persistent revolution, it could be seen that the military leaders’ presumption that a coup could easily take place is erroneous. Now is the best time to end the military leaders’ habit of taking power easily”
On behalf of the National Unity Government, Union Minister of Foreign Affairs Daw Zin Mar Aung arrived in the United States on May 11 and met with United States Deputy Secretary of State Wendy R. Sherman on May 12.
In addition, she also met separately with Malaysia’s Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah, and the Special Assistant to the President and National Security Council Senior Director for Democracy and Human Rights at the National Security Council Rob Berschinski, respectively.
Min Ko Naing says the National Unity Government is a good guest in the international arena
On May 16, 88 Generation Student Leader Min Ko Naing wrote on his social network that the NUG will be seen as a welcome guest in the middle of international arena.
“We have to see the enthusiasm for the people’s revolution. Despite the sacrifices, the rise of the people’s resistance is a reflection of the truth of “flaring the hood as if bend down”. The international community will now see the NUG as a welcome guest. Take a look at the achievements of international relations today, and the territorial controls available, including highways. Because of whom (we get these) ? The only answer is because of the people. There will be more victories for the persistent and brave people,” said Min Ko Naing.
