1. The Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration held a meeting with the township people’s administrative bodies of Sagaing, Magway and Mandalay Divisions
On December 18, at 10:00 a.m., the meeting between the NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration (MOHAI) and the township people’s administrative bodies of Sagaing, Magway and Mandalay Divisions (25/2023) was held.
At the meeting, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration gave an opening speech saying, “The revolution won’t be lost, and it is winning. So, we need to work decisively on what should be done, and we would like to urge every organization to work unitedly.”
Following, the Associate Permanent Secretary of MOHAI explained the activities and future processes of the ministries, and the attending members of the township people’s administrative bodies exchanged views with relevant officials regarding the policies, direction, ground administrative activities, difficulties, and challenges encountered on the ground.
The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary, Associate Secretary, officials from the Public Administration Department, Police Department, Fire Department, Immigration Department, and Department of Special Investigation, as well as members of the township people’s administrative bodies of Sagaing, Magway and Mandalay Divisions. The meeting ended at 11:00 a.m.
2. 30 landmines planted by the military council troops in Maw Luu were removed
The Ministry of Defence announced on December 18 that defence forces had removed 30 landmines that had been deployed by the military council troops in Maw Luu, Indaw Township, Katha District, Sagaing Division.
“The People’s Defence Force (PDF) battalions and the PaKaFa are detecting the landmines planted by the enemy military council in Maw Luu so that the public is not harmed and we have removed 30 landmines,” the Ministry of Defence stated.
Maw Luu town was captured at 6:00 a.m. on December 13 with the cooperation of KIA, PDF, KPDF, ABSDF, local PaKaFa, and PaLaFa under the command of the No. (1) Military Regional Command.
3. Township People’s Administrative Body arrested drug dealers in Kawlin Township
The Kawlin Township People’s Administrative Body announced on the evening of December 18 that 5 drug dealers were arrested by the People’s Defense Forces in Kawlin Township, Sagaing Division.
It was announced on December 6 regarding the arrests of drug dealers in chains, drugs, and related items with the cooperation of the Kawlin People’s Defence Force, the Township People’s Security Force (PaLaFa) and Township People’s Administrative Body (PaAaFa).
Those who were arrested as suspects of drug dealers in chains including drug related items are U Ye Yint Aung and Daw Mya San Htay from ‘Watoke Family’ commodity store in Myauk Inn Ward of Kawlin. From them, 155 soap holder of heroin, 167 packets of Rama (about 150 tablets), a bag of opium worth about 50 kyattha, a bag of opium worth about 25 kyattha, 3 rings, 3 necklaces, a small bracelet, a hairpin, a Pichuu figure (assumed to be gold) and about 29 million kyats worth of banknotes (28,825,000 kyats) were seized.
In addition, 11 cups of heroin soap holder from Maung Nga Byaw from Se To Village; 8 soap holder of heroin, 1 bottle of Grand Liquor (with heroin added), 1 bottle with the size of coconut oil bottle (heroin added), 2 million kyat banknotes (estimated to be 2,000,000 kyats), 3 pairs of earrings (supposed to be gold), 1 TECNO handset, and a pink bag from U Win Myint, a resident of Thuwunna Ward of Kawlin; and a box of opium (the size of a small cheese box) and bank notes – more than 150,350 kyats were seized from U Si Thu Lwin (aka) Eel Too from Myo Gone/ Myo Ma Ward of Kawlin.
The drug dealers were arrested after Kachin Independence Army KIA, People’s Defence Force PDF and revolutionary forces attacked and captured Kawlin town in Kawlin District under the command of No. 1 Military Regional Command on November 6 this year.
4. Another 4 civilians were killed by the terrorist military’s aerial bombardment in Namhsan
The TNLA announced that 4 more civilians were killed when the terrorist military attacked Namhsan Township of Ta’ang State Brigade 2 on December 18.
On December 18, at 3:00 p.m., the terrorist military bombarded a helicopter and fired heavy artillery 3 times from Manton and Mongngawt. On December 16, at 4:30 p.m., the terrorist military council also bombarded a 500-pound bomb with a jet fighter. As a result of the bombardment, an explosion occurred on the main road in front of the Namhsan Public Hospital, and it was reported that a resident of Manlon Village and 3 residents of Zalbankok Village were killed.
TNLA News and Information Department released that a total of 7 local residents from Panla Village, Ngonsaing Village, Nam Ma Waw Ward, Manlon Village, and ZalBan Village were killed as a result of military council airstrikes and heavy weapons attacks in the Namhsan battle that began on December 10.
5. 7 members of the military council were killed, 6 including the captain were captured, and two comrades from the CDF were fallen in the battle to capture Bon Zon military camp
Chin National Army (CNA) spokesperson Salai Htet Ni stated that in capturing the Bon Zon camp of the military council at the border of Chin State and Magway Division by the Chin Revolutionary Joint Force, 6 junta soldiers, including a captain, were arrested alive.
On the morning of December 18, the military council camp of about 70 troops was attacked cooperatively by the Chin National Army (CNA), Chinland Defense Force-Hakha (CDF-Hakha), Chinland Defense Force-Thantlang (CDF-Thantlang) and Chinland Defense Force, Kalay-Kabaw-Gangaw (CDF-KKG).
During the camp capture battle, the military council attacked with air strikes, but there was no damage, said Salai Htet Ni.
A CDF-Hakha commander said that two CDF comrades were killed and some were injured during the battle. He also said that many weapons were seized during the battle and the military council soldiers who fled were also being hunted down.
That camp is located on the main road from Magway Division to Hakha, the capital of Chin State.
6. 15 members of the military council were killed in the attack on places stationed by military council troops, including the Salingyi Township police station
The Royal Brothers People Defense Force announced that 15 members of the military council were killed in the attack by joint people’s defense forces on places stationed by military council troops, including the Salingyi Township police station in Sagaing Region.
On the morning of December 16, the alliances of People’s Defense Force attacked the Salingyi Township police station, monastery, school, and hospital where the military council troops were stationed.
The attack lasted for about an hour due to return fire from the military council troops, and the column commander of the Yinmarbin District Battalion 35 and 3 comrades from the joint local defense forces were reportedly injured.
These attacks were carried out by the Yinmarbin District Battalion 35 (PDA – Yinmarbin), Red Wing Special Guerrilla Squadron (Yinmarbin District Battalion 35 Company 3), Royal Brothers People Defense Force (Yinmarbin District Battalion 16 Company 1), Salingyi Township Heavy Artillery Coalition, Chindwin Nway Oo, SPDF, Monywa District Battalion 25 Company 1 and 5, Under Ground Force (Monywa), Taw Thar Gyi, Salingyi PaLaFa, Tiger, and Mae Hmaung Guerrilla Force.
7. 3 junta soldiers, including the commander of IB-50, were killed in an attack on the military council troops stationed in Yemyatni Village, Htilin Township
Yaw Revolution Army – Htilin (YRA-Htilin) announced that 3 junta soldiers, including the commander of IB-50, were killed in a guerrilla attack by the joint forces of people’s defense force on the terrorist military council troops stationed in Yemyatni Village, Htilin Township, Gangaw District, Magway Division.
At 10:00 a.m. on December 18, the terrorist military council troops stationed in the public houses in the village of Yemyatni were reportedly attacked with guerrilla tactics while they were stealing and eating public property. The military council troops were attacked while they came out of a public house in Yemyatni Village and were about to ride a motorcycle, and 3 junta soldiers fell down and died on the spot, according to YRA – Htilin.
It is also reported that the terrorist military council troops stationed at the Yemyatni Village Police Station in Htilin Township are from the IB-50 from Gangaw and have a strength of over 100.
It is also reported that the joint People’s Defense Forces attacked with a guerilla system, but the terrorist military returned fire. The defense forces were able to retreat without any harm despite the superior force and firing of the terrorist military council troops, according to YRA – Htilin.
It is also stated that those who died as a result of the attack by the joint People’s Defense Forces were Aye Min, the battalion commander of IB-50 from Gangaw, his assistant and another junta soldier, as confirmed by internal sources.
This attack was carried out by a joint guerilla unit consisting of Yaw Revolution Army – Htilin (YRA-Htilin) – Gangaw District Battalion 15, 16, 17 and Yaw National Revolution Force – Htilin (YNRF – HTILIN) – Gangaw District Battalion 18.
8. The Public Affairs Department provides food products including rice, oil, and salt to those displaced by the war in Kawkareik Township
Daw Na Column P29902 announced that the Public Affairs Department of the Dawna Column provided 2,500,000 Kyats worth of food products, including rice, oil, and salt, to more than 200 local people fleeing the war in Kawkareik Township.
It is said that on December 15, more than 200 families, including car drivers stuck on Asian roads, were provided with rice, oil, medicine, salt, chili powder, turmeric powder, seasoning powder, potatoes, dried fish and chicken for nutrition.
During the 15-day battle, after the revolutionary forces attacked and occupied the Kawt Nwet military camps in Kawkareik Township, the revolutionary forces, including the Dawna Column, took control over Asia Road.
The Dawna Column informed that more than 30,000 people in Kawkareik had to flee from the war during the city-capture battles.
The Dawna Column’s combat teams are protecting the public through combat, and the public affairs department of the Dawna column is meeting with the public and providing assistance and education.
It has been announced that the Dawna Column, is working in a balanced manner from all sides and is serving everywhere as the People’s Defence Force that is trusted by the people.
9. Health care provided by the Student Armed Force and local organizations
The Student Armed Force (SAF) stated that the SAF and local organizations are working together to provide health care to the local public at a place in Budalin Township, Sagaing Division.
“Our Student Armed Force is working cooperatively with local revolutionary organizations, volunteer doctors, and paramedics to open a community-based clinic somewhere in Budalin Township, Sagaing Division, with the aim of providing health care to the public,” the Student Armed Force (SAF) has informed.
The SAF also stated that, in addition to providing health care to the public, the clinic also aims to provide emergency treatment to armed revolutionary comrades from various organizations.
As the Student Armed Force, they are also periodically providing health care to the people in the villages in various regions where the military is active.
