Cabinet members of the National Unity Government and representative of the NUG office in Australia had a friendly meeting with the Myanmar community in Melbourne, Australia.
The meeting held on September 30 was attended by Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, Union Minister of the Ministry of Education and Health, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Human Rights Khun Baham Htan, and Dr. Tun Aung Shwe, representative of the NUG office in Australia.
At the meeting, cabinet ministers and NUG office representative explained the activities of the National Unity Government (NUG) to the people, and the officials answered the questions that the people wanted to know.
2. The Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) held a meeting with the township people’s administrative bodies of Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwady and Bago Divisions
On October 1 at 10 a.m., the meeting between the NUG’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and the township people’s administrative bodies of Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwady and Bago Divisions (32/2023) was held.
At the meeting, Union Minister for Labour U Nai Tun Pe @ U Nai Suwunna and Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management (MOHADM), members of ILACC, gave opening speeches.
Following, officials from ministries explained the activities of relevant ministries, and then members of the township people’s administrative bodies exchanged views with relevant officials regarding policies, directions, activities, and challenges encountered on the ground.
The meeting was attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Associate Secretaries, officials from ministries, and members of the township people’s administrative bodies of Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwady and Bago Divisions and the meeting was successfully finished at 12:00 p.m.
3. Myanmar expatriates in the United States of America and South Korea expressed their demand for the continued appointment of Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun
In San Francisco in the United States and Jeju Island in South Korea, Myanmar expatriates expressed their support for the continued appointment of Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun to the United Nations.
On October 1, the Free Burma Action Committee and Myanmar expatriates led a demonstration in San Francisco, United States.
On the same day, October 1, the MFDMC members and Myanmar citizens who were on Jeju Island, South Korea, conducted a demonstration.
The Myanmar community demanded that Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun be allowed to continue serving as a representative of the people of Burma at the (78th) United Nations General Assembly with texts such as “Root Out the Fascist Military” and “Our Ambassador, Our Voice”.
4. IEC provided an education program preventing airstrike risk at a war refugee camp
It is reported that the Interim Executive Council (IEC) conducted an airstrike risk prevention education program at a war refugee camp in Karenni State.
On September 30, it was held in a refugee camp facing airstrikes in the eastern part of Demoso, with the aim of the refugees to be able to make preparations in advance.
In the program (1), the Free Burma Ranger gave a practical demonstration of airstrike defense and asked war refugees and school-age children to practice.
On August 31, there was an incident in which a refugee was killed when two jet fighters came and fired at the refugee camp.
5. Provide health care to about 350 war refugees and residents from some villages in Kanbalu District
The Kyun Hla-Kanbalu Activists Group said that they were able to provide health care to about 350 war refugees and residents from some villages in Kanbalu District, where the terrorist military council troops frequently raided.
“These health care activities were carried out from September 25 to September 30 by the Kyun Hla-Kanbalu Activists Group and the ground health team. When providing health care, most of the sick people had runny noses, seasonal flu, hives, high blood pressure, and diabetes. It was difficult to travel due to the rainy season, but I was proud to be able to contribute from one corner during the revolution,” said one member of the ground health team.
Kanbalu and Kyunhla townships in Kanbalu District are townships that are frequently raided by the terrorist military council troops, and the war refugees are living in forests and refugee camps, so they face not only the danger of war but also the danger of snakes.
6. Households fleeing the war in Salingyi Township are in need of shelters
The Anyar Pit Taing Htaung Lay Myar, an organization helping those displaced by war, informed that shelters are urgently needed for fire-affected households because the terrorist military council troops burned down Nyaung Pin Gyi Village Tract in Salingyi Township, Sagaing Division.
The fire-affected households have been fleeing the war since June and are sleeping in fields on the side of the road without shelter. Currently, more than 100 fire-affected households are in urgent need of shelter, according to an official of Anyar Pit Taing Htaung Lay Myar.
Military warships are traveling along the Chindwin River and firing with small arms and heavy weapons. So refugees from other townships have fled to Salingyi Township for shelter. 7. The PKPF released that over 50 junta soldiers were killed and 11 comrades from the Karenni Joint Forces sacrificed their lives in the battles that took place in Karenni State in September
The Progressive Karenni People Force – PKPF announced today (October 1) that 51 junta soldiers were killed and 11 comrades from the Karenni Joint Forces sacrificed their lives in the battles that took place in September in Kayah State, known as the Karenni State.
In September, there were the most fights in Hpruso and Bawlakhe Townships, as well as in Hpasawng Township. The terrorist military council army has killed 382 civilians since February 1, 2023, when they seized power, until the end of September 2021. In addition, 183 people were arbitrarily arrested, and 142 people died while fleeing the war.
PKPF is an organization formed by Karenni youths and releases monthly summaries of military, political and human rights issues in Karenni State. 8. 5 policemen were killed in a drone attack on the Natogyi Myoma Police Station and the construction office
On the evening of October 1, the Natogyi People Defence Force (Myingyan District Battalion 4) announced that 5 policemen were killed in a drone attack on the Natogyi Myoma Police Station and the construction office where the terrorist military council troops were stationed.
On September 29, around 9:00 p.m., the construction office was attacked with 1 dropped bomb and 2 bombs at the Natogyi Myoma Police Station, killing 3 policemen and injuring others. As a result of the attack, the family members of police who lived in the police station compound reportedly fled to Meiktila.
On September 30, at 10:00 a.m., another drone attack was conducted on the police station, killing 2 more policemen.
The attacks were carried out jointly by the Natogyi People Defence Force (Myingyan District Battalion 4) and Natogyi Regional Defence Force – NRDF (Myingyan District Battalion 8). In addition, on September 29, at 3:00 p.m., the joint forces of Natogyi PDF attacked more than 20 military council troops stationed in Nabu Taw Village, Natogyi Township, by dropping 6 bombs from the air.
