1. Union Ministers attended the meeting between the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and the township people’s administrative bodies of Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwady and Bago Divisions

On September 17, the meeting between the NUG’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and the township people’s administrative bodies of Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwady and Bago Divisions (31/2023) was held.

At the meeting, Union Minister for Labour U Nai Tun Pe @ U Nai Suwunna and Union Minister Dr. Tu Hkawng, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MONREC), who are members of ILACC, gave opening speeches.

Following, officials from ministries explained the activities of relevant ministries, and then members of the township people’s administrative bodies exchanged views with relevant officials regarding policies, directions, activities, and challenges encountered on the ground.

The meeting was attended by Union Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Associate Secretaries, officials from ministries, and members of the township people’s administrative bodies of Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwady and Bago Divisions.

Private Aung Zaw Min escaped from the battalion along with 1 MA-3, 3 magazines of 30 cartridges, and 100 5.56 bullets and came to take shelter at Tanintharyi Township People’s Defense Force.

It is said that the Tanintharyi Division People’s Defense Force in-charge received the weapons and ammunition in an orderly manner, and they are taking steps to give him reward money.

6. 11 drone bombs were dropped on a 40-strong terrorist junta column that arrived at the general administration office and school in Myinmu

“On September 16, 11 drone bombs were dropped on a group of around 40 terrorist junta soldiers who arrived at the general administration office and school in Myinmu Township. This column has marched from Wan Pyae Village towards Nyun Yin Village in Myinmu Township, and was stationed for two days,” GTRMMU confirmed the military news on September 17.

Although the bombs hit and caused several injuries, GTRMMU forces are still investigating.

During the attack, the terrorist junta soldiers used heavy weapons, small arms, and drones to shoot indiscriminately into the neighborhoods of Myinmu Town, resulting in injuries to four innocent people.

The attack was carried out by Ghost Team Ranger Myinmu (GTR-MMU), Myin Mu Defense Force (MMDF), and Myingyan District Battalion 6 in cooperation with Company 2 of Sagaing District Battalion-2.

7. Defense forces conducted the encirclement attack on the junta troops invading the villages in Myaung Township

On September 16, the Myaung Union Army confirmed the military news that defense forces conducted the encirclement attack on the junta troops invading the villages in Myaung Township, resulting in casualties.

“On September 14, at about 4:00 a.m., the junta column invaded Nay Pu Kone Village from the port of Si Mee Khon, Myaung Township, Sagaing District by ships. They divided into two columns; one towards Nagar Pauk Village with about 100-strong and one towards Bone Kaung Village with 200-strong, and these columns simultaneously arrived at Htone Kyaing Village on September 15 at about 12 noon. When the junta columns were about to leave the village from the south at 1:00 p.m., our defense forces rapidly deployed into Htone Kyaing Village as the main column and conducted the encirclement attack, and the battle lasted for about 3 hours,” it stated.

At around 4:00 p.m., defense forces retreated unscathed when junta reinforcements arrived from the rear forces at the port of Si Mee Khon.

During the battle, the dead and wounded from the enemy side were witnessed being carried away on stretchers.

The people’s defense forces that took part in the above battle were Myaung Union Army, Sagaing District Battalion 2, Company 3, Myingyan District Battalion 2, Sagaing District Battalion 6, Myaung Township PaLaFa (Terrorist Suppression Team), CDSOM (Civilian’s Defense & Security Organization of Myaung), Arrman Circuit PaKaFa and local defense forces.
